I originally purchased this Drone in August of 2021, this was my very first Drone. I wanted something that had some advanced features to help me as a new flyer and took amazing Video\Photos. This delivers on all points! Epic Photos and epic video, follow a subject mode, The ultimate FLYING cameraman. I got some flight time in and got a little practice. My backyard is basically a fairy tale forest in western PA, complete with a stream I can watch the animals drink from. So there were no shortage of amazing shots to take or my wife could live stream from it on hikes. To play around flying in my house to get some fine control skills down a bit I turned off the perimeter safety. Then after the battery was charged I went flying farther outside for some epic shots. ... MoreI originally purchased this Drone in August of 2021, this was my very first Drone. Forgetting I turned off the perimeter warnings I got too close to a tree and the unthinkable happened. Yeah only careless people get their drones stuck in a tree that could NEVER happen to me right? right.... :(.WRONG! I had this amazing piece of technology for all of 1 day and crashed it amazingly good 150 feet up into a tree. I finally located the exact tree with the last vestiges of my battery life with the very useful feature of it beeping and flashing. Which was still difficult through the dense foliage. (note to self invest in a self powered strobe and a bright orange skin or sticker after I retrieve the drone.). The problem with this particular tree is on the civilization side between any route in about 15 ft away from said tree is a power line, the other direction is dense bramble filled forest. This particular tree also doesn't have any branches lower than 30 ft up, Ruh Roh. I spend about 8 hours for a week straight trying to come up with ideas to knock it down. I tried Fish sticks (they are light semi bendy poles used to fish wire through walls if you are unfamiliar.), I tries throwing object at it, (Way too high up.) I researched Climbing gear but decided it was too high a risk of getting hurt. AHA! The perfect plan, buy a mavic Air 1 tie fishing line and a hook around it, hook the stuck Mavic Air 2 and boom, no more stuck Drone. Then sell the extra one. So I did Just that, errr tried just that anyway. I amazingly hooked the first drone and the plan was working great, the first was really stuck though so I kicked up the throttle to full speed more with a payload. then.... the hook broken the second drone flipped over and yes you guessed it got stuck in the tree also. So here I am standing in the forest with about $1500 in a tree behind my house. Well that went south fast. So after more extensive research I make kind of a primitive pipe slingshot spear gun thing that flings a dowel that has fishing line attached and a fishing reel over the branch, then you tie stronger rope to the fishing line and use the line to pull the stronger rope over the branch, then tie off one and and pull hard back and forth till you can shake it loose. Success getting the Second Mavic air 1 out of the tree and back to safety! At this point I am about 3 weeks in and a lot of time in this forest. 4 more days with the slingshot thing and no luck getting the first one out. My wife makes an ultimatum, No more trips into the forest getting the drone while she worries or there will be no more wife. I am very fortunate and have married the woman of my dreams and my soulmate! So as much as it CRUSHED my spirit to do so I agreed because I love her. It is not in my nature to give up but for her I would do anything. The worst part is I can see the drone in the tree in the winter from my mailbox taunting me. My friend (under close supervision) let me practice and use his Mavic Air 2 which he loves. I got some great shots and lots of practice. Fast forward to Yesterday, (11-19-22) The drone was not in it's usual taunting place and the leaves have pretty much just all fallen now. This requires closer investigation. Could it be true did it finally fall from it's taunting perch? YES IT DID! so this drone has been up there through snow and rain storms quite hot days and everything unprotected for 15 months, on top of that it fell 150 ft to the ground. What kind of shape could it possibly be in? believe it or not AMAZING SHAPE! Except the battery it has discharged so much that the electronics would not allow it to charge anymore, but that was expected. It was a tiny bit scratched up and Dirty, nothing a cleaning couldn't fix. But does anything in it still work through all that weather?Well I borrowed a battery from my friend and shockingly it still works and flies without any issues! I can no longer find my case with the extra propellers or the prop guards I wish I had been using. But hey I still have the rest and it works after all that! I can't think of any more ringing of an endorsement than surviving 15 months in a tree and then a 150 ft fall. So if you want a great very durable Drone that takes amazing videos and picture I would HIGHLY recommend this one. Just stay clear of Trees while the perimeter warning system is turned off!

I’ve flown 3 different DJI drones and I’ll give you a bit of comparison between them. First, I purchased this Air 2S for real estate and automotive photography/videography and it’s been great. I frequently have to fly in windy conditions (30-40 mph) and even up to 400 feet it’s been rock solid. It offers active track, automatic shots for video, bracketed exposures, and even panoramic pictures which are awesome. Propeller swapping is easy too unlike the Mini 3 Pro. A couple of negatives- it can’t be charged directly by plugging in like the other 2 I’ve flown (Mini 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Classic)- the camera can’t shoot vertical portrait (like mini 3 pro)- battery life is subpar if you have just 1 battery…so definitely get 2.- AEB can only be .7 stops apart…unlike the 2 EV ... MoreI’ve flown 3 different DJI drones and I’ll give you a bit of comparison between them. I also recommend the better RC remote instead of phone operated one if you fly frequently and for a long duration because it can get too heavy holding the phone controller. The Mini 3 Pro is great if you want vertical shooting, don’t need to fly in windy conditions (the drone does fine but the gimbal gets jostled with gusty winds), don’t want to have to register your drone. Get the Mavic 3 classic for longer battery life, rock solid stability in high winds and altitudes, the upgraded camera and “cruise control” functionIn conclusion / if you get the Air 2S, I definitely recommend a fly more combo like this for the extra battery, carrying case, extra propellers, but go for the nicer RC remote.

I purchased this drone as a reward for passing my Part 107 exam to be able to fly drones commercially. Coming from a Mavic Air (the original one) this is so much of an upgrade that it's not even funny. The DJI Air 2S has a 1" sensor, giving it much better low light performance than the Mavic Air. On the Mavic Air, if you are shooting at anything at all over ISO 100 you might as well just throw the image away. On the DJI Air 2S I've gone up to ISO 800 without the level of noise I would have at 100 on the previous drone. Video:This drone can record 5.4k video at 24fps in 10-bit D-Log. If you don't know what that means exactly, it means you can record super high quality video and not have to worry that the colors will break apart in post. The 5.4k resolution is great to use as-is or to crop in on to make vertical content that doesn't need to be stretched in order to workI use this drone primarily for landscape/urban photography and wedding videography and couldn't be happier. It's probably a bit overkill for most wedding videographers (plenty of friends use a DJI Mini 2 and produce great work) but if you have the extra money you won't be disappointed

Air 2 S

I decided to get the Air 2 S after flying the Mavic Mini for over 2 years and debated whether to get this drone or the Mavic Mini 3 Pro. The price for the Fly More Combo was $1,109 and cheaper than the Mini 3 Pro Fly More Combo. Also, the heavier Air 2 S performs much better in the wind than the lighter Mini 3 Pro. Another factor was that the camera in the Air 2 S has a 1 inch sensor with outstanding quality and 5.4 K video. I have been blown away by the quality of video footage and images. The drone is easy to fly. The flight time with the batteries (26 minutes) are a bit of an issue, but with the 2 extra batteries I got with the Fly More Combo, that's not a big deal for me. Just don't push the batteries to the limit and return to home before you get in trouble. ... MoreI decided to get the Air 2 S after flying the Mavic Mini for over 2 years and debated whether to get this drone or the Mavic Mini 3 Pro. Props in the Master Shots is also not an issue as you can use composition mode or just edit the footage in post processing. Active tracking works well. Just make sure the subject is locked in and that there is adequate contrast. This is a professional level drone in a smaller package that meets all my needs and expectations. It was a good decision for me! I also checked with friends who had been flying the Air 2 S for some time and they had nothing but praise for the drone. Very satisfied!!!!

Best around for the price

I've owned 7 drones over the past 8 years..all but one was a DJI product (That was when I bought the Yuneec Typhoon H Pro). From The Phantom line to the Mavic line, each one got better. I then went to the Mavic Air 2 when I needed something smaller that wasn't a distraction as I documented a one year EPA Super-Fund site remediation project. I'm a licensed FAA Part 107 UAS pilot. The EPA wanted quality; the contractors wanted no distractions, so the Air 2 filled the bill. Most of the time, they never knew I was there. They never saw me and I seldom flew below 150 feet, so it was practically invisible in the sky and noiseless because of the ambient noise of the construction. Then, something interfered with the signal or there was a malfunction of some sort and it ... MoreI've owned 7 drones over the past 8 years..all but one was a DJI product (That was when I bought the Yuneec Typhoon H Pro). They never saw me and I seldom flew below 150 feet, so it was practically invisible in the sky and noiseless because of the ambient noise of the construction. Then, something interfered with the signal or there was a malfunction of some sort and it dropped from the sky and landed in the water. I then replaced it with the Air 2S and never looked back. The Air 2 advertises itself as having a 48MP camera, but that's misleading. It achieves that by basically tricking the sensor to split the 12 pixels into quarters and calling it 48. The Air 2S has a much larger sensor and the real 12 MP it produces is 4 times better than the quality of the Air 2. The additional 2 anti collision sensors added to the top front of the drone gives it even more protection when flying close to trees or other obstacles. Flight time is the same for both units and the batteries and propellers are interchangeable. It won't work with the Smart Controller I used for the Air 2 (bummer) because it's really nice to have a dedicated remote rather than taking the time to attach the phone, but that's a small price to play. All-in-all, a great product I would recommend to anyone looking to get into the middle end of the drone market.

DJI Mavic Air 2S still a good drone for any videographer or photographer
10 June 2023

Yes this Mavic Air 2S is a great drone - biggest bang for the buck right now since you can get a DJI replacement inexpensively and use your Mavic 2 batteries with it. No need for an expensive "fly-more" kit right away. No, it does not have optical zoom. It has a fixed aperture which cannot be adjusted in flight as with the Mavic 3 3 Pro. If that is what your business needs require, spend for the higher priced drone. For most "planned" flying, I use filters that adjust the light where I need it. Yes, I must plan that before taking off to do any photography or videography. It is small enough that weight is not issue if carrying it on a hiking trip or long walk. Yes, it will require Remote ID later this year. Battery life with the 2S is not as long as I would like, but ... MoreYes this Mavic Air 2S is a great drone - biggest bang for the buck right now since you can get a DJI replacement inexpensively and use your Mavic 2 batteries with it. Then the mini is no longer below 250 grams which will then require Remote ID.

Fantastic Step Up From the Mini 2!
4 March 2022

I got a DJI Mini 2 drone in early 2021, and absolutely loved it for aerial photos and video. I loved it so much that I wanted to take it up a notch, and the Air 2S fit the bill.Compared to the Mini 2, the Air 2S is similar, but a little larger and heftier (but not so much that it won't still fit in my backpack). What it adds is more than just a little size and weight, however: A better camera with a larger sensor and sturdier gimbal, obstacle avoidance sensors for a little more peace of mind while flying, and more Active Track modes (like a true subject follow mode). The extra heft also makes it a bit steadier in wind. So far, the quality of photos and videos I get from it do have that extra bit of clarity and dynamic range I expected. The extra heft also makes it a bit steadier in wind. So far, the quality of photos and videos I get from it do have that extra bit of clarity and dynamic range I expected. It uses the exact same remote and app as the Mini 2, so no learning curve there (apart from getting to know the new intelligent flight modes). On the negative side, since this is a heavier drone, it does require registration with the FAA to be flown in the US. But that's a quick and easy online process and only costs five bucks, nothing to be afraid of.Secondly, since it's a heavier drone it requires a larger and heavier battery, which still doesn't provide much additional flight time over the Mini 2. It also can't be charged via USB like the Mini 2, something to keep in mind for extended excursions--there are aftermarket car chargers available, at least.Lastly, its larger size does make this a louder drone than the Mini 2. With the Mini 2, it was practically inaudible once up to 100 feet or so, which is nice for trying to remain stealthy. The Air 2S I can still hear pretty clearly in relatively quiet environments. I did get a set of Master Airscrew Stealth props, which do make it a bit lower-pitched if not actually more quiet. All in all, I can highly recommend the Air 2S for newcomers, or for those looking to take the next step from a Mini or older-gen drone. I'd certainly recommend springing for the Fly More Combo as well--the case alone is very nice for storage and portability, and the extra batteries are crucial for a day out with the drone.

Great drone but I need a variable aperture & want side sensors
14 December 2022

This was my first drone and it?s a lot of fun. I didn?t have an internet connection when I first flew it so a better printed manual would have been nice. I unfortunately didn?t see the manual in the bottom of the box under all the packaging until I got back so maybe that?s enough but too late for me. I couldn?t get it to land on the pad but have since learned that you should let it hover for a bit after take-off if that?s your goal. I tried it once like this and it still missed but was closer that?s for sure.Flys easily enough and is pretty fun, but for what I need the fixed aperture makes it unusable. The filters helped but even with the nd32 that comes with the fly more kit I was only left with minutes when the light worked. Even if I had the n64, flying it ... MoreThis was my first drone and it?s a lot of fun. I didn?t have an internet connection when I first flew it so a better printed manual would have been nice. Even if I had the n64, flying it back, changing the filters, and going back would just be to time consuming and I?d lose the light.I would get the RC remote if I were keeping this getting the phone in the controller is a pain.

The best drones for me.

I’m really liking the AIR 2S DJI Drone. I had already purchased one and wrapped it in black fiber carbon and painted a stripe design all over the carbon. It looks really nice. However, I just purchased the DJI-RC and synced my AIR2s to it and man. The experience was great. But since I didn’t want to remove the fiber canon from my drone, my batteries and the N1 controller. I just purchased another DJI AIR 2S to use with the DJI-RC controller. These A2s’s are really a great buy and their quality is unsurpassed. For me, the AIR 2S gives me just only what I need in a drone. Not too much and definitely not too little. I also purchased the Rose Go 2 for audio and the audio is nothing short of very good, although I am leaning towards the DJI MIC. Both drones came from ... MoreI’m really liking the AIR 2S DJI Drone. Both drones came from BestBuy as their protective policy is very reliable and hassle free. I should be getting my drone by this Saturday and I can’t wait. Thank you. Eric

What an amazing machine

This package has everything you need to get you going and if you do happen to damage a blade you can replace them without worry. This does come without the blades fitted but they are so easy to put on. When you first get this don't think you will be able to fly straight away you have things to do, batteries need charging, controller needs charging, blades to be fitted. register and put on your reg number to the drone it's up to you but go to DJI website and get DJI Plus cover & on top of that maybe get liability insurance, Plus don't forget to get and update the fly app. Maybe think about the day after you have received it would be more realistic time frame to fly. The drone it's self is great to fly it also has lights on the sides plus a bright white landing night ... MoreThis package has everything you need to get you going and if you do happen to damage a blade you can replace them without worry. The drone it's self is great to fly it also has lights on the sides plus a bright white landing night if you are flying in the dark, this only comes on automictically when landing and is near to the floor. Controller battery last for a long time and so far have flown my drone for about 28 minutes before needing to land to change drone battery. Camera on this is of a very good quality and the videos this can do is of a very good quality as well but I have not really had chance to push this to it's limits as in flying or making of video's but I'm sure it's not going to let me down. I have found out that trying to put a picture from drone to here on this website, I have had to down size the picture and quality. I am now looking for a Air 2s drone backpack as for the bag it comes with is OK I just think it would be better in a more tighter and purpose built backpack for when I'm walking around.
