I understand that LensRentals cannot control the shipping company but I think it's fair that the rental charge for the missing day be reimbursed. On top of that, when I tested the drone out I found that the right stick on the controller was damaged. It was loose, allowing it to move a few degrees before the movement was registered and it pointed slightly downward. DJI Mavic Air 2S still a good drone for any videographer or photographer

Yes this Mavic Air 2S is a great drone - biggest bang for the buck right now since you can get a DJI replacement inexpensively and use your Mavic 2 batteries with it. No need for an expensive "fly-more" kit right away. No, it does not have optical zoom. It has a fixed aperture which cannot be adjusted in flight as with the Mavic 3 3 Pro. If that is what your business needs require, spend for the higher priced drone. For most "planned" flying, I use filters that adjust the light where I need it. Yes, I must plan that before taking off to do any photography or videography. It is small enough that weight is not issue if carrying it on a hiking trip or long walk. Yes, it will require Remote ID later this year. Then the mini is no longer below 250 grams which will then require Remote ID.

DJIs best offering yet.
23 October 2021

I bought this as an upgrade to my DJI Mavic Air. I knew it was going to be better but my expectations were vastly exceeded. From the 50% additional flight time per charge to the massively better range and ultra clear video feed it was like going from hobbyist to pro. I’m now flying way more because the results are so good. I have way more confidence in the air because of the stable connection on Occusync 3.0. The carry bag is premium and the addition of ND filters in the box is just such a great touch. DJI have pulled out all the stops with this one and I’m blown away. I was a little hesitant at the price but it’s actually a bargain when you realise what this package offers.

Great drone but I need a variable aperture & want side sensors
14 December 2022

This was my first drone and it?s a lot of fun. I didn?t have an internet connection when I first flew it so a better printed manual would have been nice. I unfortunately didn?t see the manual in the bottom of the box under all the packaging until I got back so maybe that?s enough but too late for me. I couldn?t get it to land on the pad but have since learned that you should let it hover for a bit after take-off if that?s your goal. I tried it once like this and it still missed but was closer that?s for sure.Flys easily enough and is pretty fun, but for what I need the fixed aperture makes it unusable. The filters helped but even with the nd32 that comes with the fly more kit I was only left with minutes when the light worked. Good Points: Crisp, clear transmissionStable in windsClever frontal obstacle avoidanceBig sensor gives bright high-quality images.Great active track featureOptions for shooting in D-log opens up post processing options.Combo kit comes with everything you need to get up in the air, even supplied with a ND filter set.Improvement Points: Rotors could be marked better so they can be removed whilst in transit and attached again in the correct order, more easily.Prefer the old style DJI case with foam and cut outs for drone and accessories.

Small but Hardy (Mighty) Drone!
21 April 2022

Wow I was nervous when I felt how light it was compared to my Mavic Pro. BUT let me tell you this drone has more power in 1 rotor than the entirety of my Mavic Pro. It is quieter, it has no issues in the wind (I think due to its powerful rotors and being smaller with less cross section), and the camera is light years ahead of what I had before. If you are looking for a Drone, but can't justify a Mavic 3 this is the drone for you. AND OMG I ALMOST FORGOT! The Pro controller is a game changer! I can switch mid flight to Cine mode, sport, and normal. meaning I can take pics, switch to video, and back without having to land or make compromises in my controls. The screen is super bright and knowing the RC Pro is going to be the controller going forward, I will be able to ... MoreWow I was nervous when I felt how light it was compared to my Mavic Pro. The best drone now for most people
7 January 2022

As a keen landscape photographer with M4/3 gear, I nearly went for the Mavic 3, but it was released too soon, and the bulky gimbal seems prone to damage. As a first time drone pilot, the Air 2S made more sense with its mature software and great value. I was a bit concerned having seen quite a few sample shots looking soft on the right edge. Mine was worse, being very blurry top right. I sent samples to Wex, and they sent out a replacement that day - superb service. The replacement arrived on the Saturday, next day. The camera is nice and even, a little soft on all edges as one would expect for a 22mm equivalent f2.8 lens on a 1" sensor. It's a similar price to the Sony RX100 Mk VII, and that doesn't fly! The JPGs are fine in good light, but the Raws are worth editing to get the full benefit. The blinkies and histogram help get good exposures, and the DJI Fly app simple and clear, though camera adjustments are a little fiddly. The 360 panos are remarkable, taking 26 shots and merging to a well exposed JPG in a few seconds in the air. I tried merging Raws in LrC, but my old PC gave up on the task. Light editing on the JPG gave a great result, and far quicker! Wide panos useful too. 4K video is excellent, and 5.4K there if you need it and have a heavyweight computer to edit the H265 files. It's great fun to fly fast or slow for video. It's like having a tripod in the air for landscapes, with small nudges to get the composition right. The only cloud on the horizon is the regulation changes at the end of 2022. With no class marking, it will limit it's use near people and civilisation unless it can get it retrospectively. Sub 250g drones have more freedom, and improving all the time. I'm mainly shooting out in the wilds, so happy to buy now. Altogether very pleased with my choice.
