I am absolutely thrilled with my recent purchase of the DJI Mavic 3 Drone. This drone outshines others on the market with its advanced features and superior performance. Starting with the unboxing, it was immediately apparent that this product is crafted with high standards. The build quality is robust, and the design sleek and modern, offering a glimpse of the technological prowess housed within. The DJI Mavic 3 excels in its flight capabilities. With remarkable stability and precision, it handles wonderfully, even in windy conditions. The flight time is impressive as well - a significant improvement over other models I've used in the past. The standout feature, however, has to be the camera. The drone's ability to capture ultra-high-definition videos and photos is astounding. The images are crisp, vivid, and detailed, making my aerial photography and videography incredibly professional. The integrated Hasselblad camera, with its 4/3 CMOS sensor and 4x lossless zoom, is a game-changer in drone imaging technology. Moreover, the collision avoidance system is top-notch, adding a layer of security and confidence when maneuvering in tricky environments. The drone's automatic return feature ensures the safety of the device, should it venture out of range or run low on battery. While there's a bit of a learning curve with the DJI Fly app, I found it to be intuitive and feature-packed once I familiarized myself with it. The various flight modes and options available, including ActiveTrack and Spotlight, offer incredible control and flexibility in capturing dynamic shots. To sum it up, the DJI Mavic 3 Drone is undoubtedly a high-end, high-performance drone that's well worth the investment. It serves as an excellent tool for both beginners and professional drone users seeking to elevate their aerial footage. Its superior camera capabilities, flight performance, and safety features truly set it apart in the market. I'd recommend it to anyone who values quality, reliability, and performance in a drone.

The zoom lens can get you close without breaking the rules. Flight time and stability is better too, it withstands gusts of wind really well and you can get almost 45 minutes from a single battery - so with this flymore kit you get over 2 hours of flight time in your bag. The pro remote is wonderful too, great crystal clear screen that's nice and responsive, signal is good way beyond line of sight, so you shouldn't have any connection issues if obeying the law. The screen also means you don't need to use your phone anymore. It arrived all nicely packed in its own carry bag with plenty of spare propellers and all the cables you need. Highly recommended if you want a step above the mini range - but be aware of the potential restrictions due to it being over 249g.

You NEED a 65 or 100 Watt USB-C PD Charger. This is required to charge your batteries in the drone or in the Hub charging pack. This would not be a big deal if it was stated on the listing page. The chargers start at 15 dollars, again not a big deal unless this is a gift and all of a sudden it can't be used until a charger is acquired. Trying to use your phone charger will take several hours to charge one battery like I did while waiting a day for my Charger to arrive. I recommend charging up one of the batteries and plugging it into the drone and starting setup while the other batteries are charging. I did need to install some updates for the drone and controller that took some time plus you can get familiar with the software and controller while your batteries charge. Everything was running smooth until the controller software told me I was too close to an airport to fly. It looks like I'm just on the edge of the take off or landing approach for the runways and I live 9 miles away from the airport. You can bypass the flight warnings. I do not recommend doing that. Instead I took my drone half a block away where it was outside the airport warning zone. I recommend downloading a UAV Forecast app and running it where you plan to do most of your drone flying before you buy to avoid the freak out I had finding my house in a no fly zone. Most will tell you if your too close to an airport on the map and let you know if the wind and weather is good to fly in. Once I was flying the Air 3 was very stable even in a breeze. The controller screen was easy to see in bright light. I might get a shade for the controller to make it easier to see in direct sunlight. The cameras give you plenty of options on wide angle or telescopic zoom. I was able to plot out a flight path and watch the drone fly it and return to home with ease. This drone has a lot of features and the obstacle avoidance works well and stopped me from almost hitting a low fence. The stand out feature here is the dual cameras and the amazing DJI software integration with the hardware. Everything is easier to use compared to other drones I have used. The software can even take your videos and auto edit them to music and make these great videos I would have never been able to edit on my own. It will take me a while to learn all the features of the dual cameras and software but that is part of the fun. DJI made the Air 3 very easy to get started flying. I wish this was the drone I started with as it is so easy to fly.

This is the complete package: triple-battery bank charger, drone, remote, carrying case... I could not believe how good everything looked and felt as I unpackaged and charged up everything. I have flown a few amateur/entry-level drones before, the ones that you hook up your phone as the screen and clamp in the remote control. This is a world apart... the camera gimbal self-levels no matter what you have the drone doing, the remote's built-in screen is a lot bigger than my smartphone which leaves space for all the infographics and touch controls. It will charge the closest-to-full battery first to get you flying ASAP. And if you have multiple batteries plugged into it even without it plugged into a charging cord, it can transfer charge to the most-charged battery from a less-charged battery (or two) to once again get you flying as soon as possible for as long as possible! The GPS tracking makes this amazing at tracking its own location and the return-to-home feature is of course lovely, so long as you set the altitude higher than surrounding objects and obstacles. Video quality is of course excellent, I added a 64GB chip to the drone to capture video and photos. Honestly I'm totally blown away by the quality of his drone, and the ease with which even a rank amateur like myself can be flying in minutes.

I cannot pretend to be an expert on drones and I have basic technical knowledge. I have had drones in the past but in comparison to this one, they were 'toys'. This does not look like nor feel like a toy. It isn't a toy. It is well made and a good solid piece of equipment. I am probably a little more than a beginner but I found this easier to fly than my previous drones. It has more power and maybe a little more noise. Because of the additional power (I assume), it does not have to be a windless day. I lost one previous drone on a day with a bit of a breeze. I have tried this one on a still day and on a breezy day and it coped really well. I managed to take off, fly and land it without crashing. Battery time is decent and over 30 minutes but maybe not much more than that. Maybe up to about 40 minutes but maybe that depends on how the drone is being flown. Images produced by the cameras are first class. Nice sharp clear impressive images. in my opinion this is a good drone for beginners like me and probably more advanced drone flyers as well. It works impressively well and it is an impressive drone with an impressive controller. Great fun. This is a high quality drone. Recommended.

The quality of the materials and precision design are fantastic.- The controller is super high quality with great ergonomics. The display is crystal clear and touch sensitive like an iPhone screen.- The DJI Fly software is amazing. It is responsive, intuitive and easy to use with logically located controls located throughout the display. The flight control and collision avoidance software are fantastic with many fail safe features built in to protect you and the drone. The drone is easy to operate and practically flies itself.- The drone is aerodynamically super stable and responsive. You can set the control down and the drone will just hover, rock solid, even in significant wind, awaiting your next input. Control inputs are very responsive and flying the drone is very easy (much more so than flying an RC aircraft). With the collision avoidance software on, the drone will automatically detect and avoid obstacles.- Control signals (transmit/receive) are solid and robust. I feel very confident that I will not lose control of the drone.- The GPS receiver and navigation functionality is excellent. This drone knows exactly where it is at all times and can automatically return to its exact take-off spot on command, if the controller signal is lost, the battery is getting low, and in case of other certain issues. The controller navigation screen gives you a clear sense of drone location, and restricted areas/airspace to be avoided. It will also warn you when to return home based on remaining battery life.- The camera is excellent with two lenses, zoom capability, and tons of features and settings for still and video imaging. You can select moving subjects and the drone will track and dynamically video them using various tracking algorithms. The camera is mounted on a stabilized gimbal which provides a rock solid image as the drone is in flight.- Flight time (i.e. battery life) is ***.rated up to 46 ***.easily gives you 30+ minutes of uninterrupted flight time depending on what you're doing. The three batteries provided with the upgraded Fly More package will keep you flying a long time in a single session.- The battery charger is a technical marvel and provides very smart and sophisticated charging algorithms to prioritize how and which battery charges in what order, to provide you fully charged batteries as quickly as possible. The charger can also be used as a power bank to power your phone and other devices, if needed.- The whole kit packs up into a durable, compact case for ease of travel. I could go on and on with how impressive this drone is. DJI hit it out of the park with this product. 5 stars all the way!!!P. S. If you are a new drone user, please make yourself aware of the ever increasing regulations surrounding drone operation. In order to legally operate this drone outside of officially designated RC flying areas you need to pass a safety test and get a TRUST certificate. This drone also needs to be registered with the FAA and have its identification number clearly visible (visit FAA DroneZone website). Make sure you understand the rules and have all your paperwork in place so you don't get a citation. Happy flying!!

Air 3 Replaced Two Aircraft In My Fleet

I wasn't going to purchase this drone. Nope. HOWEVER, after finding out that it has rear-stacked sensors & waypoints, I did. The two cameras are the very same size as the year-old Mini 3 Pro, and what a difference! They provide complementary camera performance, and post editing is simple as you are getting the very same pixels from both cameras. The amount of light that is available to the sensors is pretty impressive. Think of leaving the eye doctor after having your eyes dilated. It is easily drawn down in the settings and +/- 0 does work in a lot of circumstances. For this reason, ND filters are highly recommended to keep in your bag. Like the drone, it's compact, light and gets the job done well. This may be the first drone in my fleet that I DON'T keep in a GPC hardcase. Finally, battery-life is fantastic and the new charging hub is bulky but keeps the batteries safe, clean and will discharge over time to the appropriate levels if not used for a few days/week. It's also a powerbank and has a new feature called Power Accumulation. This will transfer the remaining power of batteries with low power to the battery with the highest remaining power. It's slick on the go.The new DJI RC 2 is what the DJI RC should have been, but with Occusync 4, I see why they didn't do it a year ago. Range? Penetration? Amazing!Don't be fooled by sensor sizes, as technology has pretty much made that stat a moot point. I have a Mavic 3 Cine and the Air 3 output is very very close regarding quality. I love my Air 3. Well done DJI!

Specs meaning little when you're dealing with a defect
1 August 2023

From all the published stats and the talking heads on YT, you'd think this was the ultimate drone. It actually might be but only when you take purchase price into consideration. You get a lot for the money, no question. From a performance standpoint, this thing really can fly, is quieter than the Air 2s that it replaces, and has a mind-numbing distance range of around 12 miles (no obstacles). The battery can last up to 46 minutes in light wind, and takes around 80 minutes to recharge. The two cameras on board are nice to have and do make a difference in your videos in terms of compression of the elements in the scene. But for all the good points, here are a few negatives to think about. Firstly, DJI gives you a USB C to USB C cable to recharge your batteries. The two cameras on board are nice to have and do make a difference in your videos in terms of compression of the elements in the scene. But for all the good points, here are a few negatives to think about. Firstly, DJI gives you a USB C to USB C cable to recharge your batteries. What they don't give you is the 30w ac/dc converter to plug into the wall. Nowhere does it mention that, so when they delivered this product, I couldn't fly it because of something that most people would assume would be in the box. Now think of DJI as a class act that delivers a very negative impression over something that costs them very little. The controller has a pretty small screen, but some would say that it's better than their phone. On that I agree, but on a sunlit day, good luck being able to see anything. It helped that I was familiar with the GoFly app, so I knew where to find the screen controls. Forget being able to see them on a sunny day. Sensor size does matter, and while 48mp might give you the impression that the image is equivalent to say and Nikon Z8, forget that; they're not comparable. The 1:1.3 sensor size doesn't deliver a better file than the DJI Air 2s at 24mp and a 1 sensor. Next, and most importantly, the controller firmware update couldn't complete and would get stuck at 92%. It wasn't because it couldn't connect to the drone. Heck, it would reboot the drone at least once a minute, and after 20 minutes or so would just quit and tell you to shut everything off and start again. 2 calls to DJI and no real solution. In fact, the second rep told me to turn off the controller during the firmware update which effectively turned it into a brick. Now it couldn't pair with the drone and she offered no option at that point. Perhaps downloading from DJI to my computer first would have been a better way to go instead of downloading the firmware directly to the controller, but she didn't think of that. Anyway, the Air 3 is boxed and will be sent back tomorrow (get a case # from DJI for any defect returns to B&H). Now I'm not sure which way to go - I do need and use drones.

missing a usb-c charger by DJI in fly more combo package
3 August 2023

When you receive the Air3 Fly More Combo package, you will quickly find out that it is a fly less combo package since it is missing the required 65 watt minimum USB-C charger, or 100 watt recommended charger. You will do research as to why you only received a USB-C cable, with no charger to plug it into, wasting your time, wondering why one was not included. What is DJI thinking??? The Mavic 3 release was worse, why is DJI backsliding in this department? Also, the DJI charger is around $79 more and you will have to order it (if its not on backorder), wait for it, once you figure out that you will need one, or your batteries will take forever to maybe charge all the way, forever meaning over 24 hours with say a 20 or 30 watt charger... Good move DJI! Good move DJI! Way to make that customer experience top notch! Quit cheaping out, at the customer's expense, if this drone does not match up photographically etc. its going to be returned, just like with the Mavic 3.. Yeah, I returned it. Expectations need to be met here, not less than; Fly Less Combo..

no usb-c charger and no nd filter set with fly more combo
4 August 2023

I purchased the Mavic Air 2 fly more combo in 2019. Came with everything you need! It's held up great for me the past few years. But now it's 2023 and I've been excited to upgrade... I purchased the Mavic Air 3 fly more combo a week or so ago and couldn't believe it didn't come with anything to actually charge the batteries and the fly more no longer includes the nd filter set. Looks like the nd set it now an upsell add-on (that's backordered) and the suggested DJI charger is also an additional upsell add-on. On a side note, charging the 3 batteries with a standard 20W usb-c power adapter took me over 30+ hours! So unless you have a 65W or 100W laying around (like DJI is now selling to you additionally)... plan accordingly. While so far I don't have any complaints about the drone itself and what I've experienced on my first few test flights, it's been really disappointing to feel like I don't even have the basics of what I need to charge and accurately control picture quality when you buy the new fly more combo. Maybe I'm overreacting, it just hasn't hasn't sat well with me and definitely has tainted my experience.
