I had a lot of misgivings about spending this kind of cash when I have some custom built and PNP drones already. What sold me on it was the maligned Motion Controller 2. With this controller, my 19 year-old daughter flew around today from launch to landing all on her own, with just a few tips from me looking through DJI’s app. I can’t wait to get up in the air in another quad and fly with her!Additionally, the head tracking feature literally adds another dimension to flying. I’m loving flying over trees and then looking down… without going into a dive. (I enjoy freestyle, but sometimes I don’t want to just start dropping like a stone unless I can see what’s there first.) For someone who loves that and only does FPV for the thrill of it, the Avata isn’t for you. ... After initially activating everything with DJI Fly, I haven’t been bugged to do anything since. Great… no worries, until someone starts tracking my location. ;)

Great build quality, as with all DJI products ... overpriced! I purchased some $99 drones, arriving next week, to make a side-by-side comparison, including crash test ... got to love the "fly more" package, including replacements. More later.

I’m a licensed drone pilot with several years of experience in Survey Mapping and FPV.I bought the Avata Explorer Combo for my wife (aka spotter) who has never flown FPV before.Her first flight was picture perfect, the motion controller 2 is very intuitive and seems to act as a lineal extension between what she’s seeing in the goggles transferring through her hand commanding the Avata to move like it was under her spell. Coupled with the lowest possible latency it seems to derived a natural bonding between her and the drone, in other words she loves it!!!Another great way DJI thinks out of the box to deliver a product for anyone who wants to experience the freedom of flight while remaining on the ground.Jeff & Lorilee Taylor
