Don’t be fooled , when buy this microphone seperate without the full package and receiver the sound cracks at the least high volume. Can’t even record in 32b because the setting is in the receiver, bought this garbage for nothing my iPhone mic is literally better. They also don’t accept me to send it back. Disappointed about this company. I’m not even sure it would not crack with the receiver I’ve seen bad reviews on YouTube from guys who want to record bike trips and it cracks also. Unless you’re a podcaster save your money lol.. this same example clip filmed with iPhone doesn’t crack at all at same spot filmed. You be the judge..

Very disappointed. The product is sold as a stand-alone microphone that can be used with a smartphone - but without the receiver you can't change the gain... so is effectively useless. It might be fine as a spare or extra mic once you have the fill kjit but the marketting material should be EXPLICIT about this.

I’ve owned the Rode wireless go for a few years now. And now that I got this mic… is like NIGHT AND DAY.The noise cancelling feature literally cut down a huge part of my post production workflow. I don’t have to edit AT ALL. The ability to record without even plugging it into the camera o phone… just pure audio is amazing for podcasts. The ONLY thing I guess DJI should come up with is a WEDDING BUNDLE. 1 Black 1 White. In order to get this bundle I had to build it my self, costing me almost $100 more but it’s worth every penny!

Although all of the marketting material states that this mic can be used standalone, there are 3 settings which cannot be changed without the receiver, which make this mic unusable. Low cut filter is enabled, 32bit float is disabled and the mic has a low gain out of the box meaning that the recordings are poor and low volume. I wouldn't recommend buying this mic as a standalone unit.
Works great and sounds good too. Simple recording as a stand alone mic or you can connect via Bluetooth right to your iPhone. Either way you use it sound quality is nice. If you can afford it, I would get the bundle to unlock all the features, but if you can only afford the single unit, you won’t be disappointed.
I am very happy I jumped into trying these new DJI Mics 2's. They are feature rich with a lot more controllable options right from the touchscreen on the receiver. They have good options for hooking directly into smartphones, and they are smaller than my Rode's. The magnet clip options is a good addition for the transmitter lavs. These are very cool. Alos there is an optional wired tiny neckline lav clip on.
Should be more clear on using it as a standalone.... Size of the recorder is the best attribute but it is technically unusable as a standalone. No way of getting 32 bit float without the receiver due to no control switch. Defaults as 24 bit but has no way of adjusting volume levels, therefore it records too low without adjustments... Lav mics need locking mechanism... Will change review if firmware updates can add 32 bit float switch and volume control.
Bought this to use over Bluetooth but the audio is pretty poor. Sounds like you're on the phone. Apparently it works much better with the receiver but that is an added expense. Also if you're using over Bluetooth you must use a third party app like black magic if you're using an iPhone as the stock camera app doesn't allow for Bluetooth microphones.
