DJI OM 5 Smartphone Gimbal (Athens Grey)
Take full advantage of your smartphone's amazing camera with the DJI OM 5 Handheld Gimbal. Its three powerful motors keep your phone steady so you can take smooth, professional-looking videos. The magnetic clamp lets you attach your phone in seconds and holds it firmly in place, so you don't have to waste time setting up. The OM 5 has a trick up its sleeve - a 215 mm telescoping arm that gives you more reach and options while filming. The arm extends smoothly and lets you get wider selfie shots, and higher angles for your videos. There are tons of clever features and effects to help you get the perfect cinematic shot. The OM 5 recognises the scene you're filming and gives you helpful tips and offers templates for amazing results. It can make stunning panoramas, timelapses, and DynamicZoom shots and many more. Or even follow your face for the perfect framing. The OM 5 is tiny and folds down to be even smaller, so you'll barely know about it when you put it in your bag for your next adventure. And at just over 600 g, you can keep filming throughout your trip without your arm getting tired.

The gimbal performs really well but, it's limitation on the pitch rotation is really disappointing. Also, the gimbal defaults to portrait mode and you can't change that. It's clearly designws for people taking selfies. If that's what you want, then this gimbal is great. For me, I frankly wouldn't have bought this if I realized what I was getting.

I haven't had this item for very long. However it works great so far. I have a lot to learn about it yet. Apparently it can do a lot more than I have taken the time to try at this time. I have been watching a lot of videos about it online and all I can say is I am very impressed. I am sure with time and experience, it will prove even more that I spent my money well on this item.

I upgraded from OM3 to OM5, and I did NOT experience the "vibration" issue at all. The gimbal works fine and smoothly with my Sony flagship phone. It seems like most people with iPhone 13 pro max are the ones who are complaining, OM5 was actually released before it, and somehow the MagSafe is messing with the OM's balancing..... Anyways, I do however, use my stock camera app, not the Mimo app, and OM5 works perfectly as a plain gimbal.(To Android users interested in buying: all phone gimbals (including other brands) have software compatibility limits with Androids, and DJI's OM5 is no different. I get the same software limitations in the Mimo app from OM3 to the OM5. Which is why I use my stock camera app, and use the OM as a plain gimbal).Anyways, the OM5 is a ... MoreI upgraded from OM3 to OM5, and I did NOT experience the "vibration" issue at all. The extension rod is also super useful for a lot of situations.I like the quick release magnetic design in both the OM4 and OM5. However, the new aluminum-phone clamp included in the box with OM4 and the OM5 is so tight comparing to the Om3's plastic clamp. I had to buy a separate phone clamp from DJI to get a better fit with my phone's bulky case, (called the "DJI OM Fill Light Phone Clamp").

It is very good. There is a learning curve, to put it mildly. There is a reasonably short YouTube video explaining how to set it up and which buttons to push. To use the "follow me" feature, you need to put your palm facing the camera at a certain distance to engage it. When it begins engaging the feature there is a numerical countdown that appears on the phone screen. It you don't see that, you are either to close or too far away from the device. It took a while to figure it out.
There are tonnes of reviews of this product online so Im not going to replicate those. What I will say is that the addition of the telescopic handle is way more than just a selfie stick and opens up way more shooting opportunities. For example, shooting very low down (eg if youre in to rc cars and you want to pan alongside one while its driving) no longer requires you to crawl around or double over to get the shot; you can just extend the stick for a much more comfortable shooting position. Same goes for high-angle shots, its not the longest but it does give you more options. This is the reason for the four-star review, Id rather it was a bit bigger and heavier and retained this important feature. I knew this before buying it of course, and Id still buy it again, its just a big omission of a key gesture and I dont want to encourage that with five-star reviews! Overall great piece of kit, get yourself a decent piece of video editing software to go with it (there are some great free ones out there) and youll be surprised at what you can do.
This is my first gimbal, but did lots of research on OM4 as well, and I can say that the extension rod is definitely useful. Battery does last enough for what I need. I shoot short videos and did 3 days so far and the battery is about half. It fits well in my pocket, is light and responsive. What I don't like about it... Tracking still needs improvements. Sometimes it disconnects and Rec/Stop buttons are not working (happened once, maybe my phone). All recorded videos, while holding the gimbal close to the ground, show up-side-down in Premiere Pro. Zoom button is hard to reach. It takes a bit of practice to handle it well. It came with only one magnetic grip.
I am new to videography and I purchased another gimbal but it was way too complicated and I couldn’t get it to work right. This one has very similar features but is very simple to navigate and follow the instructions. The only thing I do not like is how it opens and closes. It’s not a smooth process.
The Osmo Mobile 6 is super cool. It’s quite impressive. Videos are smooth and stable; the look professional. It’s very easy to use. You’re able to use its basic functions without effort.
I purchased the gimble because I have a hand tremor and find it difficult to take clear photos. In hind sight I probably should have purchased a large tripod to do my shots as I find the gimble wobbles all over the place. Probably more suited to someone who wants to do fancy social media videos on the move. It is very well built and maybe I just need to get used to using it.
NO IT WON'T! On wide-angle low shots the gimbal arm photo bombs the shot. The tiny handle got out in my hands and would rotate leaving me looking for the buttons. My phones built in stabilizer did a good enough job for me. If my livelihood depended on videography I would have to own one, but it doesn't so for the first time in my life I took advantage of the 30 day return policy.
