I'd owned the original Action 1 for 2 yrs and used it mainly on biking. In fact, I like most of my original Action 1. Its battery life and image quality are letting me time.Finally, I decided to get an upgrade to the Action 3 but the camera came out of focus out of the box.A quick research told me this is a common issue with early Action 3. The model produced after Jan.2023 solves this issue.However, even though my purchase is from March 2023, I'm still getting a camera from 09/2022 batch.

Great action cam and easy to use

I rented this to pair with my Pocket 2 in order to document a family vacation. I ended up using the Action 3 as the primary camera simply because of its ease of use and form factor. Add to that its water resistant and it was a no brainer. The video and images it can capture are nothing short of spectacular and it's really easy to use. The biggest thing I can say is that it's far more reliable than GoPro and is packed with features that make production easy.

Great camera wfocus issues

Great form factor with plenty of resolution options, great magnetic mount for vertical and horizontal recording. Image stabilization is amazing. Unfortunately, I went through three cameras and all had focusing issues where the image was soft unless the person was completely still. Updating the firmware did not correct the issue and only seemed to sharpen an out of focus image. Some people have reported that models manufactured in late 2023 did not have the focus issue but I did not want to keep ordering and returning defective cameras. My Osmo Action 4k was sharp and in focus compared to the action 3. I decided to go with the GoPro Hero 11 which has a sharp image.

Heck of a Good Deal on a Great Action Camera and Batteries

I already have one Osmo Action 3 and love it. I saw this Combo and grabbed it since the price was impossible to beat! Great little camera and the three batteries and charging case were practically free at this price point.I have zero overheating issues with the cam and it's been able to handle everything I've thrown at it. I get great outdoor, indoor, and underwater footage and I'm pleased to get the extras with it at such a good price.I had the big name brand of action cam before and had nothing but problems. The Osmo Action 3 has been a joy to use and I could not be happier with this bundle!

Just What I Needed

I have too many still cameras, some of which are great for video, but the DJI Osmo Action 3 fills in the gap for action shots where I don't have to worry about camera damage.I had an old GoPro and I find the Action 3 much more user friendly. On day 1 I was able to get the video I was hoping for.The best news was that the Action 3 was significantly cheaper than the Action 4 without missing out on some needed features.Fortunately my GoPro accessories all work with the Action 3. I would highly recommend and would recommend the Payboo card with B and H to make it the cheapest option out there.

Many cutting edge features, but support for H.264 is limited.

Most people as far as I am aware of, do not have PCs or Mac that can decode H.265 without stuttering/freezing. H.265 is definitely a nice touch, but many features are disabled if I opt for the H.264 video encoding which is stutterfree. The new features somewhat useable for a minority, so it is a pity, why they disable it for H.264. Activation is very annoying. The app is not available from Google Play store or Apple App store. You have to download from the DJI website and pray that there is no Trojan in the app.

Osmo Action 3 great little camera.

This is a great little device. The 4K picture is clear and crisp. Where is no jurking when you move the camera, it records smoothly.It's easy to operate with enough extras to give a perfect shot and not too many that you get confused.This device does video and stills. It also goes under water. The only drawback, and to me it's a very small one is that there is no zoom. You will have to move the camera in closer.

Outstanding action cam if you can get one that focuses

I love the form factor, menu system, magnetic mount and stability. I have the OSMO ACTION 4k and was looking forward to the added features. Unfortunately, I have gone through three cameras that all have focusing issues. When an object is perfectly still and you have updated the firmware, the sharpness is acceptable. As soon as you start moving or try to capture video of a moving object, the image is soft like it is out of focus. The firmware does some sharpening but it does not fix the focus issue. Some people on forums have reported that they have received a working camera with no focusing issues but my recommendation is to wait until DJI releases the next version. Even then, wait for the reviews to ensure there are not issues with production.

Good Points: Great Action Camera, Improved battery life over the Gopro's version.Ease of use = 10/10Love the duel screens, makes life easier when recording yourself.Amazing high quality resolution and I personally use this a my in-Car dash Camera.Improvement Points: Not sure, As this model is already way ahead of the curve for 2023.Maybe try a higher Resolution from 4k to maybe 5-6k Resolutions?Even Longer battery life?You won't go far wrong when buying this Action Camera.

The perfect action camera Finally

I have owned and used every generation of GP since they were silver unto and including GP Hero 10. I also had DJI first version. They all worked, but this one is the best. The magnetic clip on mount is #1 and saves lots of time and frustration. I would switch to this one over the GP for that reason alone. #2 It doesn't overheat (NEVER) I shoot 4 K until the battery runs out and then change battery and keep shooting. #3 The battery lasts a long time #4 My wireless lapel mic plugs in directly no bulky adapter or frame #5 The battery case/charger. The whole package just works.
