My complaint here is to have a tethered connection, as the WiFi option may not be so reliable. It's ok some of the time, but it can be lost. With some practice anyone can get the hang of this great bit of kit, but don't expect to be an expert right out of the box. It will take a good number of hours to get the hang of it. To be honest, I'm not really sure where the market is for this. It seems that DJI have a great idea for their drones and have implemented it in a handheld version too. Why would they do this? There are plenty of other options on the market, and even though this is very high quality and extremely well made, have a look at cheaper options, so you don't feel like this is just an expensive fad when you receive it.

Pros: easy to set up, great image quality, replaceable lens cover, easy to use. good amount of mounts in the box, DJI mimo app not bad for video editing.Cons: screen lag makes framing a little more difficult when getting close to action. few glitches when recording in 2.7k or 4k where the recording seems to stop.

Received promptly. As with all DJI products I've purchased, the construction, detail, and tech seemed flawless. I was concerned about getting an "old" product (as of 09/2018 this is an orphaned product) that was on closeout. But this seemed like a fresh product. Software loaded/updated without problem and EVEN works flawlessly on the new Apple iOS v.12.0 software. I also managed to get it to run on an iPod Touch 6th gen. ! First images of grandson's 20 minute swimming lesson was perfect. although I made the mistake of filming in 4K.... it took HOURS to load into iMovie.

I mainly use this camera for Vlogging, and have a very good experience so far. The camera does a good job keeping movements smooth, and the battery lasts a surprisingly long time for its size (1-2 hours of use for me). If you happen to need extras, they are surprisingly cheap at only ($) a piece. That being said, I have come across a few software things that I hope DJI will fix in one of their uodates.1. There is not a simple microphone adjustment on the main screen, so if I suddenly go from a quiet store to a load street, the mic can sometimes clip, resulting in loss of sometimes good audio bits.2. The camera will automatically flip to allow you to hold it facing up or down. The camera will automatically flip to allow you to hold it facing up or down. It's incredibly useful for getting cool shots, but the video does not switch orientation to match, so you have to edit this out.3. The camera requires constant (by constant I mean pretty much every time you turn the camera back on) re-leveling so that your shots aren't slightly angled.Otherwise, the footage is great. Low-light shooting isn't the best, but that's to be expected with a sensor this small. I think the best way to sum it up: a decent point-and-shoot camera on a gimbal.
Great camera, solid construction, easy set up with or without a cell phone for excellent videos and still shots. Selfie mode is a fun factory for the family as well as the convenience and weight in carrying the equipment around. Sound quality of the stock internal mic is horrible, known issue due to the loud fan. Though a small mic sold by DJi or a Rode mic are a worthy upgrade to eliminate any sound issues. Overall a great gimbal video camera.
Pros: Very good camera as usual from DJI. Playing back 4K video and there is no drop out or stuttering. Quality and feel is very good and front screen in very helpful. This kit comes with 3 batteries and charger so no problems there. Internal microphone is useable but if you want external one you need adapter which isn't expensive and fits onto this frame. If you need cold shoes to add more you will need a different frame which can be purchased at various prices. ND filters can also be purchased and can be added by unscrewing the camera lens and adding your chosen filter. Rocksteady is the image stabilizer and is again very good. I'm no expert but the quality of video and photos look great to me.Cons: Bought this with 3 batteries so I think I got a good deal. DJI ... MorePros: Very good camera as usual from DJI. This is a fantastic imaging device. It records full 12 bit raw video at 4k, and can simultaneously record h.264 Mov files. There is plenty of dynamic range about 13 stops. It is however not a replacement for a proper camera. Here are things you need to know before purchasing. 1. You will need a wired video adaptor before you even think of using this as a professional tool. The wireless connection is just too dicey. 2. Internal fans are loud... really loud. If you plan on recording nice clean audio on set, don't mess with this thing. Now if you are recording in a noisy environment anyway, you may be okay. If you are shooting anywhere someone yells "quiet on set" before shooting... forget it. 3. You need ALL the accessories to make this worth your while. You can get by without the focus wheel, but not for long. 4. If you plan on shooting real estate, you will need a wide angle lens. There are not many fast wide angle lens options for this thing. The ones that exist are not cheap. Plan to spend 500 bucks or so on a decent one. Over all, I love mine. It is used exclusively to get dynamic, moving B-roll shots. While it is loud, it is also small, so you can shoot in places where another stabilization option just wouldn't make sense. As long as you have a specific need for THIS device grab it. Otherwise you may find it a bit too limiting.
The package came in as a broken box, I prayed the camera was not damaged. OK, opening box, another torn dirty DJI box. I got it, this is a refurbished product, but the reality has to keep reminding me: hey you are not buying a new one.I tested the camera and gimbal, it's exactly as expected: crisp pictures and videos, total aweful build-in mic and Flexmic was slightly better. I think DJI also found out this solution doesn't work well, so they didn't launch any new OSMO camera models in last 2 years. I think I will just go back to the gimbal + phone solution and be more practical.
I know I am supposed to just review the product here, but it needs to be said, that the service from WEX is absolutely fantastic. I had a slight issue with my order (something wasn't shipped in the same order), and when a I rang to get it resolved, it was effortless. Thanks for a great service.TheDJI osmo Action is a great little activity camera, I have moved from the Go-pro series 8, and there are subtle pro and cons.Pros: Picture is better, the wind noise is better, the stability of an action shot is amazing.Cons: The DJI software is not as slick, but I would not trade that for the image and sound improvements.
Pros: Easy to use app. Very good for quick edits without having to import the files to the pc. Can be done straight from the phone through the app.Cons: Sound quality is terrible. Picture quality is not the best. Footage seems quite dark at times.
