This is a good, but over-hyped fragrance. In scent tests, it frequently receives a 6/10 from women. It is so sweet, they sometimes find it effeminate. It is widely liked, but seldom loved by non aficionados. In many reviews, it is described very differently than what it actually is when it hits my nose. So, I feel there needs to be SOMEONE who gives a proper description and review. The One smells like warm sugar, enveloping a thick amber scent. The Coriander and Cardamom dominate the the opening and heart, which settles into a sweet, sensual Amber scent in the base. The Tobacco gives it a "thicc" quality, as if it is sticky. Way better performance and projection. 2. Do not wear this to work or during the summer. Ever. If you think you pull it off, you're deluded. 3. It should be worn on cold nights, exclusively. 4. This is an attractive scent, which is better on dates or at the club, than for nights out with your friends. 5. After the dry-down, you'll pick up more of the subtle notes in the fragrance. Don't judge it completely by the opening.

The One is the true connoisseur's choice. For the one who represents pure masculinity and sophistication, the scent is as striking and charismatic as he is. It offers a highly intense fragrance to appeal to the most magnetic individual. The vibrant, elegant top notes of Grapefruit, Coriander and Basil reveal the Oriental Spicy signature of the fragrance. The heart of the scent captivates with its masculinity, with warm Ginger and Cardamon working alongside charming, sweet Orange Blossom. A base of rich, intense Tobacco, sensual Ambery notes and warm Cedar wood ensure a deep and enduring impression of The One.

If you're a fan of DG fragrances, then you know the longevity of their scents. This cologne, "The One", is no different. One of my all-time favorite colognes by DG. Have been using this cologne for years and have always loved the light pleasant fragrance. If you don’t like powerful or colognes that sting your nose then this scent is perfect. I like a light fragrance that is not overwhelming but lasts all day. Another favorite of mine, and of the compliments I still get from this fragrance from women.

An incredibly sweet, seductive fragrance. Like a more grown-up version of "CK One Shock". Very high-quality smelling amber and tobacco, while not being too overpowering. I personally love the scent, but I don't believe this should be an everyday wear. This fragrance is more of a date night, once a week type fragrance that SHOULD NOT be overused. Keep it in your arsenal and use when appropriate. I own the 1.7 but I will definitely repurchase in a larger size. A secret weapon, use with caution. Overall, Scent:10/10 Longevity:8/10 Compliments:9/10 Sillage:8/10 Presentation:7/10
This is a classic. Even after smelling hundreds of fragrances, this is and will always be one of my favorites. my #1 designer easily. I actualy prefer this one to the edp. Even though it’s slight, i do smell a difference. There’s something a little too chemical about it that i don’t like. Stick with this one. Not all perfumes need to be beasts. This one is made for her to get close and get a whiff. A couple extra sprays and you’ll be fine.
I was excited when this fragrance was delivered to my house and I was eager to wear it. I was truly hoping that all of those reviewers that complained about the performance were simply wrong because this truly looks like a giant considering the dark color of the juice and the high price and the fact that it was an Eau de Parfum. That aside I was terribly disappointed because I only get maybe 6hrs MAX on the skin. How could this be? Then I realized that this is just another mismarked, over priced and over hyped modern fragrance with substandard ingredients. I usually go Vintage so I should've known better. That aside it does smell nice but that's it.
I invested in this lauded D&G fragrance and on the whole, have not been disappointed.True to reviews, it does have "...spicy-oriental notes ... a little warmer than our [D&G's] other men's scents".Top Note: It boasts some lovely top notes, including bergamot, coriander and basil (yes, basil is what I noticed and for some reason, it just works, too).Middle Note: I think this is where the money is, carefully balancing cardamom, ginger and neroli.Bottom Note: True to its reviews there are lingering notes of cedar, ambergris and tobacco (although nothing quite as heavy as a Tom Ford equivalent), which exude a sense of 'masculinity'. But a word of warning. I wouldn't wear this fragrence by day to visit the local cafe to meet your friends. Instead, exercise some mindful discretion and wear only in the evening; on a date with your partner perhaps? Remember, "style is knowing how to tap dance, but choosing not to." (Cary Grant)The Bottle: I love this rectangular, robust, and elegantly simplistic amalgamation of glass and metal with just a skerrick of branding. Less is more... more or less?!Criticisms: Duration. The fragrance definitely evolves into these amazing afternotes that live up to its formidable reputation. However, after 2-3 hours it all seems to dissipate leaving only the faintest residue. You may need to decant some into a small atomizer if you're hoping to maintain this fragrance all night long?Summary: Bang for buck?... this D&G fragrance lives up to its name. One might experience considerably more depth and duration from a Tom Ford (Oud Wood) equivalent. But at three times the price? I think D&G's The One, is incredibly good value. On the whole, it's a yes from me.

Considering the price it's worth the buy but an individual should spray on a lot! Other then that, projection is good for up to two feet and longevity is three hours at best, then reapply. If generously applied, this is a compliment getter! I would buy again but only because of the the price. I have tried Dolce Gabbana light blue intense and is the same. Both colognes are great but longevity sucks!
This should be in every man's rotation of fragrances. It's more of a night time, fall/winter, or date type of fragrance. It has wonderful oriental notes and smells great on the skin for a long time. Don't be afraid to load this stuff on heavy. 3 sprays will make your woman happy, but she's in your space and close. If you want others to smell you (if your single), load this up with 9 sprays or more (hit those pulse points everywhere), it won't offend anyone, trust me. You need to wear this heavy if you want attention because this fragrance is so subtle in the absolute best way.
