This vac packer just won’t die! I’ve been flogging it for 3 years, it’s packed countless items for me.Pro tip - wet the foam seal with a couple of drops of water just with your fingers before each use.The foam seal lasted a couple of years then tent world sold me replacement seals when I needed them. They are EASY to replace.Doesn’t overheat and throw errors like the sunbeam ones, highly recommended!

I have used this twice. I will never get the 2 hours back of my life. Suction is poor and the seal function works on and off. Poor performance for a Dometic product

Just loving this product. I can prepare all my vegetables in sealed packages and they last for weeks. Very handy to just grab a bag and immerse it into hot water to simmer....not losing any of the goodness. Storing meat is also a plus. Great for when I go caravaning too.
As others have said, the lid will not shut properly for automatic usage. Hold it down to get it work. I recommend buying something else. Too expensive given the poor quality.
Ive had the original version of the dometic sealer for 8 years which only stopped working after getting submerged in the tray of my ute in a mud hole. New version has positive button locks on the side to unclip the lid which is a good upgrade, simpler to close and get sealing. Unit always works well.
Used it once; It took a few bags to get the vacuum sealed in the first place and the bags which were finally sealed lost the vacuum seal within minutes or a few hours later; I've put in a warranty claim but have not heard back yet
An update to my April 29,2018 Review. After a little practice, we love this sealer. To store it at home and to keep it safe when traveling, I went looking for a suitable storage box. At Menzel Plastics, Melrose Pk., S.A. I found a Okka brand Stacking Tote AP-13. It is the exact size to store the sealer, accessories, 2 rolls of each of large & small bags and a quantity of pre-made bags.The Crate and Lid are sold separately. The lid clips on for security. Dimensions : L 442 x W 330 x H 130 It is Australian Made too.
We are very pleased with our purchase. Everything about the product is easy and user friendly. We stopped by Anaconda in Bendigo yesterday and pick up a pack of 8 inch and a pack of 11 inch rolls to go with the dometic vacuum sealer. Going great guns.
I purchased this thinking that it was a trust worthy brand to be told that the warranty only lasts 30 days after taking it back to where I purchased it and would not replaceor refund. The unit stopped closing properly and stopped sealing only after using it a handful of times. Very disappointing from Dometic
