It may be “Lite”, but it’s strong enough to relieve pain! The Tru-Pull Lite is DonJoy’s most comfortable, low profile and shortest patellofemoral brace, yet strong enough to relieve knee pain! This patella support brace is designed with pull straps above and below the patella (kneecap). This puts a “true” and consistent pull on the kneecap during flexion and extension, which realigns the patella. By properly aligning the kneecap you reduce the pain that comes with patellofemoral problems like dislocating your kneecap. This brace is ideal for runners, recreational athletes, or individuals who are looking for extra patella support during their daily activities. This brace is great now that I found the right size. Definitely runs on the small side. This company is very helpful in making sure their customers are happy in that they worked with me very well through the exchange process to find the right size. This brace makes my knee feel secure and in place.

Due to a knee dislocation injury and chronic knee subluxation with severe osteoarthritis, I find this knee brace more supportive and stabilizing than my old brace. I give it 4 stars because the open fabric edge on the back side is more irritating to my skin, and worse if the strapping moves slightly into that opening. I’d rather have only the opening for the patella. Otherwise, I find it most supportive for helping me heal while going through physical therapy.

I'm dependent on this brace on both knees to keep me hiking. I hiked about 1,000 miles last year, and am on track to do the same this year. I've been wearing them for a very long time. I just purchased my 3rd pair. They last for many years, but unfortunately the Velcro starts to eventually wear out and the straps will come undone under my hiking pants. DME Direct made it easy to find wraps in my size for both knees. I could not do this on Amazon. And the price is similar to Amazon, and certainly much less expensive than going straight to Donjoy.

Unfortunately I failed to appreciate it was a pull on sleeve and could not even get it past my calf muscle. Make sure you check this measurement just to be sure. I will be reordering a wrap-around brace instead.

Exact Replacement of Original Brace
2 September 2020

We went to our orthopedic surgeon and my daughters patella sits off center. He sent us to physical therapy and they issued us this DonJoy brace. It was not cheap even after insurance was applied. So she has recently lost some weight and the original brace was too loose. Not wanting to go through PT and insurance again I looked online for a replacement. I was hesitant to order the brace fearing that because of the lower price it wouldn't be the same quality It was an exact replacement of the original brace. My daughter is in volleyball diving on the floor and she says this one is even better because it fits sung and perfect. She hasn't cried to me once about pain. I would definitely order from Ortho Bracing again.

Exact replacement to brace given post surgery
30 November 2023

This was purchased as a replacement for the one we received from UW Medical Center after a knee surgery in late July 2023. Out original brace was getting worn out and the velcro was not working as well so we ordered this and it was a perfect replacement. Thank you!

Finally found the right brace for my knee
7 June 2016

What I wouldn't give to have tow good knees again. I played a lot of football in my teens and college which proved to be too much on my kneecaps. Both knees were would give me problems where they would feel like they were going to pop out of place. I tried lots of braces with a donut inside but they didn't provide enough support or take care of the sliding feeling I would experience just before they would dislocate. My doctor suggested that I finally have surgery to tighten up the kneecaps but at my age it didn't seem like the right idea. I checked the out online after reading a bunch of the reviews - most people said it actually helped their situation so I asked my doctor and he also said it was worth giving them a try. I checked the out online after reading a bunch of the reviews - most people said it actually helped their situation so I asked my doctor and he also said it was worth giving them a try. I measured my knee and I was right on the borderline between a large and the XLarge so I went with the smaller size to have a secure fit. Some people have said that the material tends to stretch out over time so I wanted to make sure the buttress was still able to do a good job supporting my kneecap - so I went with he smaller size. When I received the pair of braces I was impressed with the constructed and the quality of the buttress design was way different over my older braces. I could get more tension from the straps which helped it really clamp down around my kneecap on the side. I tied using the tru pull hinged knee brace with just jogging at first because this used to bother my knee right away. Surprisingly I was able to run around the block which I couldn't do previously. Now I'm able to use the treadmill at the gym for 10 minutes and my knee feels secure and supported - a great feeling for an older guy like me!

Great brace, but wish the straps would be sturdier and stick longer
21 September 2020

My daughter has been using this brace for four years. We replace it about 4x a year. She plays school basketball, spring AAU, and Fall League and also throws shot and discus for Track. The only complaint I have is that the straps start getting looser which then compromises the support of the brace. If there is any way to make that better, it would be great. We've tried other braces but the gel pack on this brace provides the best support for her subluxation.

Great for patellar tracking for soccer goalkeeper
25 May 2020

My daughter is a soccer goalkeeper with a history of patellar subluxation. This brace keeps the patella in place, provides stability, and has padding around the patella to absorb some of the impact on front smothers and dives. It loses one star for durability, as we go through two braces per season. She trains or plays 5-6 days per week. We have tried the Lite version (smaller hinge, no padding) of this brace, which is better for running because it stays in place better, but this one definitely provides more stability and protection for her position.

Paid for new received used

I have previously purchased 3 of these braces from another company. The brace I purchased from you came in damaged packaging which was not only torn but stained with some kind of grease. The brace itself had bits of fluff on the velcro and the plastic film covering the silicone pad was creased and not positioned correctly. I feel this brace had been used and perhaps then returned to you. What happened to your quality control process. This brace should have been checked before dispatch. I am very disappointed in your service which does not equate to your marketing statement. The brace is worth the 4 stars but not your service is worth 1 star.
