Recieved Dove Derma Care Scalp Anti Dandruff Dryness and Itch Relief Shampoo in exchange for my honest review. This is a pyrithione zinc shampoo made by Dove. It is hypoallergenic, cruelty free and the bottle is made of 100% recycled materials. This shampoo is for relief of any scalp issues or irritation. It controls the flakes from dandruff and also acts to moisturize hair and scalp. I used this in the evening when I showered before bed. It has a regular consistency, lathered up pretty easily and has a really pleasant and fresh scent to it not like some other dandruff shampoos I have used. It left my hair feeling clean and did not cause it to look greasy later on. All in all I really liked this shampoo.

I suffered from a mix of scalp build up and dandruff. Dove is actually one of the only dandruff shampoos that didn’t leave my hair with a weird texture afterwords. There are softening agents to help with that. However, with also having an oily scalp, I would use this shampoo frequently. This is just a PSA but DO NOT use a dandruff shampoo more than once a week. It will inflame your scalp with all the sulfates and hash chemicals. Overall this product does a good job, I’m giving it one less star (not because of my experience misusing it but) because the fact there are a lot of ingredients known to lead to hair loss and scalp inflammation. Just watch how much and how frequently you use this!

For the last year I have been suffering from dry scalp. It always got worse during the cold months. I've literally tried every medicated shampoo from head and shoulders to Nizoral spending up to $25 a bottle for some. After the first use I saw a difference, now over a month my scalp is normal, no flakes and my hair is soft and silky without greasy feeling. I can't attest to the itchy relief since I didn't have that very often, but for dry scalp this is the solution. I have not seen a flake. This works great. Definitely recommend!!!

Amazing!

I’ve bee. Struggling with dandruff for 20 years. Been to dermatologist, tried their stuff but had been using Head and shoulders because it work better(never made it go away though ). Tried dove on my young child who started itching their head a lot and it worked. So I tried it for myself and it made the flakes go away completely! I’ve been flake free for 6 months and it’s an amazing feeling not having to worry or be ashamed anymore. Told my 70 year old father to try it and it’s working so well for him too.Please never discontinue this product!!!

Doesnt work well enough

Meh. This helped somewhat with my dandruff at the beginning. The smell is good. However after using it consistently for months, my scalp has become greasier and greasier AND my hair is dry from midlength to ends. So dry that when I brush it, it’s super staticky. That’s never been a problem for me until I started using this shampoo. Also, I STILL HAVE DANDRUFF. This is the only shampoo I use and the dandruff is still there. I shampoo my hair every other day. Time to try something else.

Great itch relief, perfect scent

I've had plenty of products that keep my flakes in check, but I've always had a very hard time relieving the terrible itch. Even when completely flake-free, I was always scratching my head, often to the point of causing minor abrasions/scabs. With the first wash I noticed such a feeling of relief all over my scalp as if I'd just gently scratched it all over. I'm almost finished with my first bottle, and I'm happy to report I haven't had one scab on my scalp since I switched. The scent is also very pleasant and neutral, not likely to clash against any other scented products. It reminds me of like a "fresh linen" scent, but, for hair? If that makes sense. It smells light, fresh, and clean, with a little feminine touch. I never thought I'd find something this fantastic

This is a genuine review from a real customer. I have had dandruff for years and have tried everything from Head and Shoulders to expensive brands with "extra strength". I was in the grocery store one day and there weren't may options at the store I was at and came across this. I had no hope for it but felt I would give it a shot since it wasn't expensive. After using this about 3 or 4 times I noticed after hair drying that I had no flakes at all. I can't believe a Dove brand shampoo and conditioner actually fixed my problem I've been dealing with for years. My hair dresser even mentioned that my hair seemed different and more healthy and I told her I was using this product and she couldn't believe it..especially knowing how bad my hair and dandruff had been for years. I only wash my hair twice a week and I use both the shampoo and conditioner each time..I dont use any other shampoo. This has really changed my life and has boosted my confidence and I hope they continue to sell this product or else I don't know what I would do. Like I said earlier though, give this shampoo and the conditioner a try several times and really make sure you are scrubbing your scalp if you have major dandruff issues like I used to have. After just a few uses it will be gone! Ahh I seriously can't believe it and I've been using this going on maybe 7 months now and no signs of dandruff since!!

It works! Absolutely recommend!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this shampoo (and the conditioner, too)! I'd been struggling with a horribly itchy scalp for months, since doing far too much coloring and stripping and recoloring of my hair last summer. No flakes, but just terrible itching, no matter what I did. I tried another product with salicylic acid, and all that did was make my face feel like it was on fire from rinsing it out in the shower. Scalp still itched. With the Dove shampoo and conditioner, it was immediately reduced about 95%, and stayed that way even two days later. My hair feels like its old self, too - softer and "bouncy". I have my waves back! I rarely, if ever, give 5 stars to a product, but this one I do. Absolutely recommend!!

One of the best dove products I like so far. I’m trying to find the best shampoo by Dove. So far the Argan and repair oil was stinky. Smelt like sugar cookies. This smelt like sweet cream almost like a light coconut cream scent. This really does help with a thirsty scalp to stop itching from dry winter months. I think this provides more moisture than their coconut hydration product. I’ve mild dandruff so I don’t know how this would work with someone with a medium or severe case. I do know that most dandruff shampoos need about 2 weeks to fully show results on your head and Google recommends to leave on 5 minutes so the medication can work. I agree with this because if you rinse out immediately then the medication can’t work inside your strands. Also this dandruff ... MoreOne of the best dove products I like so far. I’ve used some dandruff shampoo that dried my hair out so bad that I had to use a deep moisture mask to save my hair. I highly recommend you try out their Soothing Moisture by their Dermascalp line. That conditioner is the best Dove conditioner I ever tried. Also Dove claims that all their products are color safe. I don’t dye my hair fun colors just black. I notice I can get by dying my hair once a month with this. But I wash my hair two times a week to further not irritate my scalp by washing my hair every other day. Also washing your hair in cold water also helps to prevent a dryer scalp. Just put your hair in an old pillowcase or t shirt then put hot water on to do body wash time. Dove is my favorite brand of shampoos. I wish all their products was sulphate free. But not everyone can afford a sulphate free dandruff shampoo or conditioner.
