These shoes formed holes on the toe in less than two weeks. My son is special needs with cerebral palsy and drags his toes. Once there was a hole, the zipper was busted. I have been through 3 pairs of these shoes and they lasted 6 weeks combined. They shoes work great for my son but they don’t last. I recently discovered that Billy has another style with the zipper farther up the shoe and I am hoping they last longer. I wish they would make a rubber reinforced toe. If they did these shoes would be the best. Customer service is great…shoes just need to be more durable.

I’m torn on these. I wanted to love them however, I’ve had issues. We are new to AFO life. I was excited to find shoes that fit my son’s AFOs but they don’t fit articulating AFOs at all. We couldn’t tie them completely and the sole peeled back from the bottom of the shoe within a month of ordering them. We aren’t even to a point in our AFO journey where my sons wears them all day. So just a few hours a day and they have fallen apart. I ordered a second pair (he can’t wear the first pair anymore) in hopes that the low top fits the articulating AFO and they won’t fall apart. If this doesn’t work I may need to try a different company.

I buy these shoes regularly for my grandson who has cerebral palsy and wears splints on both feet and ankles. They go on so easily over the splints, the full shoe zipper being so helpful. The are comfortable, well constructed and even offer support to his ankle. And they last…only reason to purchase more is that he grows out of them. My daughter has even purchased a pair for herself because they are so comfortable. The many varied styles of shoes are a plus. And I’m happy with the regular discounts offered. Delivery time is good as well. Would definitely recommend to others.

Our daughter was gifted a pair years ago and love Billy! So when the sale came along we were excited.I knew all sales were final so I felt like I was being extremely picky on the measuring and following the chart. But somehow we still got the wrong sizing, ugh!. It is almost one-two inches in length big on her. And now she can't wear them. We are so disappointed.

I have used oversized boots with stuffed toes just to get the instep high enough or an old pair of kids wide birks rigged with elastic cord that almost fit and so many other rigged sandals I could scream. But my daughter was determined that for my 63 birthday which is the day before Christmas she would find me shoes that fit right. Well she found Billy's Footwear! They had adaptive red sneakers that fit! They are a kids size 13, XDR wide width with adjustable laces and a custom fit zipper that opens the entire shoe to allow the best foot placement possible! These are very thin and harsh on the inside - I couldn't wear them without long, thick socks or my feet would be covered in blisters. I have had an ongoing arm injury and just had an elbow replacement. I tested these prior to surgery and when I am able to use both arms, the cons outweighed the pros. However, post surgery while I can't use my dominant arm and my mobility is limited, these are fantastic when someone else is dressing you. Especially in winter these are much safer and warmer than slip on shoes. I am glad to have them in my immediate recovery period and that they are an option for people in my and similar situations - however the comfort levels need improving.
My son wears SureSteps, so BILLY Footwear shoes are the easiest shoes for him to put on. We also like the look of the shoes. We continue to buy them for these reasons; however, I am a bit disappointed in how easily the zipper wears out. We have been buying the “better durability” shoe from the BILLY website, but this is the second or third pair where the zipper rips at the toe. We have learned from a local physical therapist to take the inserts out from the bottom, but then that eliminates the cushion support. We haven’t found another shoes that easily fits the SureSteps with the level of aesthetics BILLY footwear provides, but hopefully this zipper issue can be addressed.
Love the shoe. Great quality and very easy for my son’s foot to fit in the shoe with his foot orthotics. Would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who’s looking for some new shoes for their little ones. Also love the story behind the brand and how the brand is making an impact on people around the world. I’m so thankful to have found this company and can’t wait to order more shoes.
With a toddler that's always on the move, these shoes have definitely been a life saver, easy to put on and can do it quickly so your child can continue to explore. And surprisingly great grip. Good for bush adventures and normal day to day activities. And the style is amazing and very cute..Communication with the business was also pleasant and they are beautiful human that understand. Over all a top quality shoe. Definitely recommend. Will be purchasing for years to come.
I absolutely love Billy shoes! I used to always be late for things because I had so much trouble tying my laces (I have to wear high top shoes due to muscular dystrophy). Therefore, I was always making my husband late too, because it took so long to get my shoes on and tied. Now, I have my shoes on and I'm ready to go at the same time he is. I love it and he loves it. Billy shoes are the most wonderful accommodation I have found yet for my disability, aside from my wheelchair. I have been telling all of my disabled and non disabled friends about these shoes. I think they are great for anyone!!
