My son just thanked me AGAIN for his amazing boots we gave him for Christmas! He says he doesn’t knows how he lived without them! Doc Martens rock! Thank you so much for continuing to make such high-quality products for all generations! My kids bought me a pair about five years ago when they said “Mom you lived in England in the 80s, It’s not right that we all have a pair and you don’t yet!…you need to have a pair !!!”I love my gorgeous floral doc martens from my Daughter ! I am in my mid 50s now and absolutely adore them! A boot for all ages! Peace ✌🏾 Lynn

I have very large feet and these boots are wonderfully light to wear. However, there was an issue with one boot, Where the tongue meets the toe it felt like there had been some sort of manufacture problem. It put extreme pressure on to top of my foot and I thought I was going to send them back. But I remembered that I had read that you should wear them to soften them up a bit before any long wear. So I did - with my hiking socks. The first wearing I only lasted about 30 mins - just standing and sitting. But a few hours later, I tried again. And with the heat of my body and patience, the offending area softened and molded to my foot and is now fully comfortable. All this was in the house. I will be taking them on an actual walk very soon.

Very disappointed!! I ordered these boots on the premise and belief that they were "Made in England" I've wanted DM's since I was a teenager, I'm now 59ys old. Because of the relative high price of this British Icon I've never been in a position to warrant spending such an amount on a pair of boots. Then I watched the Greg Wallace programme about how the boots are made in England!! Just 180,000 pairs a year and exported all over the world. I watched and thought a proper BRITISH!! success I what apart of that.Unfortunately there was absolutely no mention of the fact that this BRITISH icon is also produced in various manufacturing bases around the world and EXPORTED TO TO ENGLAND!! I still have a couple if weeks to decide.I am seriously considering Solovair or William Lennon boots as they are made in England. That is what I made my purchasing decision on , a product "MADE IN ENGLAND" not COPIED IN GERMANY and exported to ENGLAND!!I really think you are misleading people.

I love these! They are my first pair to wear which are mine! I have always borrowed my cousins.I was told being new that I should expect them to hurt as they would need breaking in, however I have worn them twice now for full day events and had no problems which has been great.I bought a size 6 which is my usual size and they have plenty of room round my feet. I have worn 2 pairs of socks each time though which has possibly helped with not getting blisters. They make them lovely and cosy to wear though.I bought the shoecare kit with them and followed the instructions before my first use. Then applied the Wonderbalm again afterwards.
Omg my first pair in years! The nostalgia on opening the box was amazing! The quality is just fabulous and the iconic yellow stitch and tag looked better than I remembered. You just can’t beat it! The fit is true to size and although do need breaking in, I only felt an issue on my left bridge! The design may have slightly changed (for the better) over the years, but am so glad I purchased. I’m in then now waiting for a train, feeling quietly smug as I catch those admiring glances!
Went to Dr Martens website, typed in "wide" in the search bar, and these showed up, so i was excited and purchased them. Boots arrived and i immediately tried them on, my foot wouldnt go in all the way! My toes stopped at the part where the boot were to crease as i step! These boots are made for small people with small narrow feet. The boots themselves were also disappointing for the price of $170 plus shipping and tax, kind of ugly and cheap feeling to the touch. I was quick to pack them up and drop them off at the local UPS store.
I have owned Dr Martens boots for over 25 years and my most recent purchase of the 1460 Smooth Leather was a disappointment to be honest. The 'Smooth Leather' is thin and has a finish that looks and feels like plastic, the welt is finished poorly, the inner sole is completely synthetic and the outer soles are softer and lighter weight than my past boots. Is the leather split leather with a synthetic top coat these days? It feels like it.These boots cost £150 and I feel the quality is just not there anymore. Dr Martens, have you maximised profits over quality and now rely on your heritage brand image and bygone reputation to boost sales? It seems like it sadly.I use these boots for work and fear it may be my last purchase from Dr Martens. It seems like it sadly.I use these boots for work and fear it may be my last purchase from Dr Martens. You used to be able to know you were getting a solid, reliable pair of boots that would last a long long time. Not the case anymore.I have some great memories of my Docs over the years but Dr Martens is a high street fashion brand now with a much lower standard of build on their main lines (unless you pay a much higher premium for the 'Made In England' line). It's quite sad. Thanks for the old times guys, but I think I'm done. All best.
Living in the far north of the uk, and remembering nostalgically the warm, dry, comfortable feet I had in my first pair of docs I had in the 90s, I bought a new pair of docs a week ago, waited patiently to mug the postman, they arrived! Weather was horrible so I excitedly put my left boot on, bliss! Perfect fit, so comfortable! Just as I remembered, a little tight across the top of my foot but okay. My right boot, ouch, instant pain across the top of my foot, okay they need to stretch, I had thick socks on, so I persevered, nope not getting any better, if anything worse each time I wore them. Out comes hairdryer to warm the leather across the top seam where the tongue is attached, not much better, so further investigation ensues. There is a little overlap on the seam that rolls over when my foot goes in creating a hard rolled ridge that presses into my foot, extremely painful, out comes the painkillers. I know docs are famously stiff until worn in, but this is a whole new level! I love my docs but I don’t remember this being a feature of my original boots and not in my polleys either, clearly quality control is not working! I am now going to resort to my leather skiver to try and remove the overlap.
I bought the standard leather 1460 boots online, but I have really high arches, and the tongue seam was constantly pushing on the bridge of my foot. I bought them into the Nottingham store and the sales assistant recommended the smooth leather instead. I tried them on and with them being softer and narrower, they fit like a glove. Already the comfiest pair of boots I’ve ever owned. They did a straight swap for me, no issues. The quality of the boot is amazing, and I just know I will be wearing these for the next 20 years. Chuffed!!
Docs. What can I say.. The most iconic boots ever. I remember begging my parents for a pair when I was younger and I've been wearing them ever since. When you first get them you sacrifice the skin on your feet to break them in but when you have they fit like a second skin. You dream about getting another, and another pair and save every penny to be able to treat yourself. Nowadays the styles and colours match with every conceivable style so don't just dream, buy some. And become an icon yourself.
