I can’t really review them as I ordered the wrong ones. But they appears to be of the usual high quality you’d expect from Doc Martens.

A revelation to the fast-food culture American mindset and a lesson in true quality. As usual, a pair of Docs doesn't have an initial perfect fit, but you have to labor with them, wear them, try out different socks. Use that Dubben! As they form to my foot and climate (MN), they are proving comfortable, warm and dry. And stylish. Epic. These will outlast any American/Euro fast-fashion shoes you could ever find. That means you, BullBoxer, Aldo, etc.

Amazing

Exactly what I wanted! Shipping was so quick! Beautiful boots and they fit wonderfully. Of course I had to endure the break in period, but they broke in quickly and are comfortable now.

Beautiful Shoes
26 December 2020

This is my first pair of Doc Martens. I love the matte and thick texture of the greasy leather and the quality is great. I ordered a size 6 because I am generally a 6 in all my other shoes (converse size 4). I measured my foot as well and it was 9.125 inches so I went with the size 6. I’m glad I did because it fit well. There was oddly some room above my foot, but the insoles I purchased helped to fill that upper gap. They help make the shoes more snug all around but it’s not necessary. My socks are thin, so I can imagine that wool socks would also do the trick.

Cool but...

Got the Dr Martens rugged and dressed aesthetic, but also the usual issues as with most ankle-high boots made of tough leather-esque material. Needs some breaking in to make it comfortable for longer wear. At the moment, my calves know they're hitting against the top of the boot with every step. Wish they would line the cuff edge with some cushioning to make it softer against the calf. The laces were not thought out at all. They're a flimsy, slim polyester blend that don't really hold. Haven't got much wear from my pair, since I've been looking for a new pair of laces to replace the originals. Not what you expect when you pay this much for a pair of Docs.

Great boots! Just perfect like they were 20+year ago when I wore them

My docs were my jam, literally everything to me 20+years ago. Imagine my surprise when not 1 but TWO of my kids wanted them for Christmas.Bonus: they’re my size 😉Kudos also to the BEST customer service on planet earth.I ordered a few weeks before Christmas and on dec 23rd received an email they were out of one of the pairs I ordered. They offered to replace with another boot of my choice, however said they couldn’t get it to me by Christmas.I explained that my kids only get 1 big gift and that one kid would be gift less if they weren’t to me by Christmas Day. I was a little annoyed that they contacted me so close to a Christmas as I had no time to hunt these down anywhere else.Christmas Eve late I received a box containing the shoes! They had overnighted them ... MoreMy docs were my jam, literally everything to me 20+years ago. Just Get them!

Extremely comfy right out of the box. Zero breakin time. Also have the brown pebbled leather but they are considerably heavier and while nice, I like these better. Have not worn anything else since receiving my 1460 greasys. They’re my “go-to” boot. I am a true 9-1/2 and the 9’s fit purrrfectly. These also seem to go with pretty much everything. Truly an iconic boot, made well. Worth the investment.

Not what they were

28 November 2021

My 1st pair of Doc’s back in the late 80s were made in the UK, and they were AWESOME! They fit well, and were Durable and Comfortable straight out of the box. I didn’t have to replace them until the early/mid 00s. I bought a pair of 1460-ish mid-calf lace-ups in Smooth Black, and a pair of Greasy Black zip-sides whose name escapes me at the moment. The zip-sides were UK-made, but the lace-ups were from China, I think, (bought both from DM’s online store) for some reason. I read later that Production was being moved there for the stereotypical reasons. There was an easily-overlook-able difference in Material Quality and Workmanship; the Chinese lace-ups needed more Maintenance than the British zip-sides, as the leather tended to dry out more quickly, and they arrived ... MoreMy 1st pair of Doc’s back in the late 80s were made in the UK, and they were AWESOME! The zip-sides were UK-made, but the lace-ups were from China, I think, (bought both from DM’s online store) for some reason. I read later that Production was being moved there for the stereotypical reasons. There was an easily-overlook-able difference in Material Quality and Workmanship; the Chinese lace-ups needed more Maintenance than the British zip-sides, as the leather tended to dry out more quickly, and they arrived on my doorstep with no insoles, which the Staff at my local Doc Marten’s store immediately comped me a pair when I stopped by to complain (that’s where they shipped from, so I figured I’d go straight to them with my problem). Not a BIG Issue, but worth mentioning - they recently started eating into my heels due to a pair of inconveniently-placed wrinkles that have dried into place. I recently found my tin of Original Formula Wonder Balsam that I bought with my 1st pair of Doc’s (I’ve heard that they’ve changed the formula within the past 10yrs or so, but that may be no more than hearsay), and am in the process of trying to rescue those Smooth Black mid-calf lace-ups, as they are my favorites, and I’m loathe to let them die so easily. The only way that style could be improved is by offering them in Greasy Black. My most recent purchase is a pair of Greasy Black 1460s that are marked as being Made In Thailand.Honestly, I had Issues with them straight out of the box. The Greasy Black finish was closer to Smooth Black, except that they were covered in what I can only describe as “micro-wrinkles” (like the fingerprints on a baby), they felt notably dry to the touch, and the insoles were thin and adhesive-backed (that’s a 1st in my experience), making it much more difficult for me to replace them with the better-quality insole options available (personal habit).Wonder Balsam to the rescue! I got the finish back to the Greasy Black that I love in about 36hrs, but that should NOT be necessary before the 1st Wearing. It took me about 30min to rip out all that adhesive-backed insole, which is about 29min longer than it should’ve taken to remove insoles.Oh, and the included laces are thinner, and some sort of synthetic fiber. Yes, they’re easier to tighten for a snug fit, but they also loosen quickly while being tied. I’ll have to swing by the DM Store downtown to see if they have the old-style laces. Another Minor Issue, but I’ve NEVER had an issue with my Doc’s if they were marked “Made In UK”, but they seem to have moved Production to Asia on a permanent basis

Style then up or style them down
9 February 2024

I really love my boots. It’s now my 4th pair. I like how Dr. Martens can be dressed up or dressed down. I wear them to work giving a professional look, but then I can still rock them at happy hour with a dressed down look. If you never had a pair they are heavy. They weigh at least 4-5 pounds.
