These are perfect! They give some height and they're quite comfortable! They are true to size. I am a size 7 and I got a size 7. They are stiff for me near the top of my toes where the lip of the shoe are sewn in. I used mink oil to soften up the leather on the outside. The 6 eyelets on the shoes are perfect because I'm rather short and it doesn't feel like the boots make my legs look shorter than they already are. Plus, the height helps and they look really badass! I was going back and forth between these shoes and the Vintage 101 Leather Ankle Boots and ultimately decided on the 101 Bex because of the added height, cushion and look of the shoe. The Vintage 101 has a raw leather edge that is brown in color so it stands out against the black. Where as the 101 Bex is ...Ā MoreThese are perfect! My only reason for the difficult decision was because the Vintage 101 is better leather quality overall but I didn't want to wait to fix up the raw leather edges and grease them black. Overall, I love the choice I went with.

Undisputable champion of stylish looks. That's why I bought it in the first place. True to size. Breaking-in is rather easy. Protective kit does its' job as well. The only drawback I found is, probably, exclusively applicable to my unique pair of boots, not model as such. That is this thingy, inside part of the seam between shoe tongue and a vamp. In one of the boots it's sticking out a bit which really creates a painful feeling. Although, I can squeeze in my feet in a way that it pushes that seam up in a way that it lays over the fit and doesn't stick into it. Sometimes takes 3-4 wearing attempts to achieve it, but it works. Another shoe doesn't have it like that. It's probably better cut, polished our or glued somehow, not sure. Nevertheless, I didn't consider it ...Ā MoreUndisputable champion of stylish looks. Keep up the good work and stick to quality.

My daughter loves her first pair of Dr. Martens. She loves the more platformed bottom on these and the black outsole. She has not had any issues with breaking them in yet. She wore them around the house and then on two long walks in the snow yesterday and Iāve heard no complaints. She is wearing them with heavy weight Darn Tough socks. So that could be making a big difference. We also got them a little on the big side in a womenās 8. She is an 8 but these seem to be roomy. I am a womanās 8.5-sometimes 9 and I could fit my foot in them fine. Although Iād get a 9 if I were to actually own a pair. She is just 13 so it gives her foot room to grow and if not we can always add an insole. Very good quality so far and hopefully sheāll be able to wear for years to come. ...Ā MoreMy daughter loves her first pair of Dr. Martens. Traditional Boots arrived- I pause as always-ā¦..How WILL they fit? My feet quite wide- 4E+ Which is difficult at 5ā8- wearing only an 11. I have to send many boots/shoes back as they usually are too narrow. But this time was different?!? Excellent fit, sturdy, comfortable-I expect a break in timeā¦.again this is the Dr. Marten way. Not for the impatient. Hoping Dr. Marten could start to carry a wide fit-it would open things up to a new audience- Thank you for staying true.
Iāve wanted a pair of Dr martens for so long so I decided to splurge. Iām 5ā2ā so I decided to go with the 101 over 1460 otherwise I felt like it wouldnāt look right on my short legs. But these are the perfect height.I also have pretty wide, flat feet and am originally a 7.5 size in womens shoes. I read comments about how you should size down and I was pretty afraid to do that Iām case it made the show narrower. I ordered the size 6 in Menās thanks to a redditorās advice and I couldnāt be happier. The hurt my feet initially when I put them on but as I walked around in them and broke them in I definitely feel like I got the right size! The heel was slipping quite a bit but I read that the over under shoelace method is helpful for that and lo and behold it fixed the ...Ā MoreIāve wanted a pair of Dr martens for so long so I decided to splurge. Good parts: really stylish shoes and quality.Misunderstandings: when I first tried them on, I thought they were big and huge! The insole are 1 inch bigger than my normal shoes. And there are more room than what my toes need. I was gonna return but I went to DSW tried 1460 on one size smaller (their insoles are the same). Then I realized 6 is definitely too small for me. It might be nice to have half size smaller.Another thing is smooth leather is definitely hard and uncomfortable to wear at the beginning, especially front parts of my feet, but people say they are gonna break in in 3 months. I'm waiting for that. If you want comfortable shoes to start with, you probably should order Nappa Leather.Overall, quality shoes I want to keep.
theses boots are uncomfortable and the quality is surprisingly far less than one would ever imagine. Doc Martin may have used to be good but now they seem to rely on their name and they hype. These boots are Not worth the money and Iām very sad to have paid good money for these boots. Letās see if my review even gets posted.
I bought these for my daughter and in all things, you learn a lesson. I am an older guy and remember when things were built for the person, not the company. Doc Martens has a particular brand that is very popular but that popularity is marketing, not product driven. Having worn Army Surplus boots since the 1980's, I know boots. And this is the equivalent of buying un-treated cow hide that has yet to be tumbled. Or like purposely stiffened Jeans that you despise having touch your skin but it's a particular look. This was the second pair as the previous ran small and now these do as well. So I paid nearly two hundred dollars for boots this kid will likely have sitting on a shelf, which I can understand, since it would take years to soften these up. So I paid nearly two hundred dollars for boots this kid will likely have sitting on a shelf, which I can understand, since it would take years to soften these up. And they are so uncomfortable, that she will choose them ONLY on special occasions to show off. They will never be an every day boot. Your company makes a fine product but what of it? If you can't be comfortable and enjoy it. Thats ridiculous. It's a status symbol and useless. A waste of money. I could buy used similar boots at Good Will for $6.99 (or used to be able to) and DID, which my kids grew out of and gave away. But those boots were soft, comfortable, looked great, and lasted forever. I could easily have bought cheapie boots at Walmart NEW for $40 to $60 dollars that would easily rival these in form and fit. Could you call them knock offs? Perhaps. But they would have shoes leather that was already pliable and comfortable in-store. Not something you had to wear for two years before you made an ankle crease. That's nuts.I feel ripped off. I used to sell shoes and my father was a Furrier and Leather hand bag maker when I was a kid, so I know what goes into such things of finery. This product is a JOKE by comparison. In the 1970's the Levi Straus company decided to take the drastic measure of adding rocks to the pockets and tumble washing their products to make them more appealing. It worked and the entire world wanted soft Jeans you could put on and have that broken in feel. Perhaps your company might consider getting off your dumb high horse and making something that is worth the ridiculous price. I desperately wish I could get my money back.
These boots are like coming home. The last pair I wore was 40 years ago, unbelievable with my baby face ;) . I was genuinely excited to buy these and start breaking them in, a painful rite of passage but part of what will identify these as mine. A timeless classic and everything I had hoped for, I think Iāll invest in some shoes too; why wait another 40 years, right!?
Absolutely LOVE my new DMs don't know what took me so long to go for the more traditional boot style. I already have my Siano DM shoes that have lasted me forever but always Ummed and Ahhd about the boots. If you're in two minds just go for it you WILL NOT be disappointed. To my surprise they are so versatile and go with EVERYTHING (well I wear them with everything!!) I was always hung up on what to wear with them before buying. Also, surprisingly enough they haven't killed me breaking them in, just comfy thick socks and don't lace them all the way to the top and your good to go. I take a size 6 shoe and feel there's plenty of room for comfort not tight around the top or anything. Love love love them and want more in different colours šš¤©š¤
