These were my first pair of Docs so I actually went into the Dr Martens store in SoHo to try on almost every single pair they had bc all the reviews on sizing seem to vary by shoe style. I’m a true 6.5 but with bad feet (bunions) so I prefer my shoes to be a bit wider and run a bit larger vs being snug. I was looking for a soft leather, high lace up boot with a platform. I tried on the Audrick platforms and the regular 1490s in a size 6 which felt very comfortable for my feet. I initially tried the Jardon Pisa in a size 6 but could feel my right big toe almost grazing the front of the shoe. Since I was wearing very thin socks, I knew the boots would be too snug come winter time when I’ll want to wear tights and thicker socks. The size 7 were a tad too big but the ... The size 7 were a tad too big but the sales associate stuck in some doc insoles for me and they felt much better! I would say these boots do run true to size but a little wide, so if you are a true half size and do not want your shoes to be snug, then size up. I’m so confused by the reviews where people are sizing down one whole size - that definitely would not have worked for me, so I’m glad I went into the store to try these on. As for style and feel? OMG these feel like walking on clouds…everyone always talks about how docs are brutal to break in, but these feel amazing. I had always wanted docs in the 90s (I was in middle school and HS) but couldn’t afford them back in the day. I’m ecstatic that I can feed my inner 90s child via these boots! The pictures do not do them justice. They are legitimately beautiful and I do not regret paying full price for them! I live in NYC and know I’ll get a ton of wear from them.

These boots are absolutely stunning. Well made so worth the investment! Best decision I made! Been thinking about getting my first pair of Docs for years and I can say that’s it’s certainly worth it. They are a little stiff at first but after wearing them for a short walk each day they’re loosening up and becoming more comfortable! The double lined socks are a godsend. This is the best! Maybe not the best for a workout though!

Shoe is super cute! Really wish they had these in half sizes. I got my usual size, and it was too small even with only tights so it definitely runs small. Full size up looks like clown shoes. Two stars for Dr Martens convenience- I got rid of the box because I wanted to exchange them for a different size and I don’t trust the sizing. I went to a store location, they would not exchange them or return them. Must be mailed back but didn’t send return label. They charge $7 for return shipping. So between getting a new box, having a return label printed, and shipping -$20 and so much time wasted.ALSO- don’t bother signing up for their email promotion, discount doesn’t apply to most of their shoes.

The excitement of owning my first pair of DM boots is REAL! I had them on the day they arrived and have worn them every day since. These are lovely to wear, they go with jeans, trousers and skirts, and although at the start they hurt my heels, I opened the zips and was able to continue wearing them. I now have zips closed and they are like wearing slippers. They took no time to break in. These will last forever, beautifully made and iconic footwear which are must haves. I'm 50 and have wanted legitimate DMs for years and at last I now own a pair! I'm hoping to treat myself to another style soon!
Sooo disappointed. I've wanted a pair of Doc Martens for years, and now that I'm a grown-up I decided to treat myself and bite the $200 bullet. I bought these a month ago and my feet have spent maybe 6 hours in them. I've done everything I can to make these work, bought the double doc socks, worn them around the house, worn them on short walks, used a hair dryer to heat them, changed the lacing pattern, watched so many YouTube videos, and still my heels are turned into absolute hamburger meat every time I put them on. I have to take a week off each time I wear them so that my heels can recoup. If anyone else finds their toes are going numb, look up "army lacing" and it will relieve the pressure across the top of your foot. I normally wear an 8.5 W US women's size, ... I normally wear an 8.5 W US women's size, and I found the sizing to be fine with just over an inch left in the toe. Going to keep trying to make these work as the boots themselves are beautiful. Everyone insists they're so good once broken in, but I'm beginning to think it's because they don't have any feet left. 3 stars for appearance, ZERO stars for comfort.
I am OBSESSED with my Doc Martens!!! They are so nice and I get so many compliments! The reason they are 4 and not 5 Stars:They do HURT for a while!! They are tough shoes and are difficult to break in - it took me about 2 weeks!! I recommend having some foot care if willing to go through the pain. They can rub against the back of your ankle since the soles can not bend. Once broken in, though, they feel much more comfortable!Otherwise, they are GORGEOUS shoes that go with so many outfits! I absolutely love their look. They're very nice boots and are probably my favorite pair of shoes.
I haven't had Docs since high school in the 90s but thought I'd give them another try after ordering several other styles and all of them being very uncomfortable - not what I remember from the 90s shoes which actually felt like I was walking on air the their time putting them on. While there is no more of that feeling in today's Docs, I finally found a pair that was comfortable from the start (though I had to sandpaper down one of the edges along that top that was scraping my calf). I love the look and can't wait to really wear them out. The key is the soft Pisa leather I think. Very loud and squeaky on certain surfaces like polished hard wood floors. Ordered a size down and fits great and may be able to put in a thin insole.
I purchased the Jadon Pisa Platform and the Jadon boot (both at size 6) and the comfort difference is totally different. I'm a pretty consistent 6.5 even in boots. The lift for both boots is nice. I'm 5'0 and having any height is wonderful. These didn't look too weird either. Sometimes when I wear platform shoes, it's comical (think circus performer on stilts). The Jadon Pisa leather is softer, the foot bed is more comfortable and the weight is lighter. The leather scuffs easily and is more matte compared to the Jadon boot. I purchased a size 6 and it fits nicely. With med weight socks (so like a pair of stance socks), it's perfect. Big enough to accommodate thicker socks, but not so big that thinner socks wouldn't work either. The Jadon boot is very rigid, the ... Big enough to accommodate thicker socks, but not so big that thinner socks wouldn't work either. The Jadon boot is very rigid, the foot bed is ok and the weight is much heavier. The leather does not scuff and is more shiny/polished compared to the Jadon Pisa. I purchased a size 6 and it was roomier than the Jadon Pisa. I needed to wear way thicker socks to be able to really feel secure in the boot. It was enough room that I kept wondering if I should have sized down even further. Odd since the Jadon Pisa size 6 was so perfect.I wore both at home to decide which ones to keep. At first, I was going to keep the Jadon boot because at $170, I just didn't want my boots to be scuffed and look worn down too quickly. I wanted to keep them looking polished.I decided to wear the Jadon boots outside and it was an eye opener. I found myself dragging my feet because they were so heavy. The boot was so inflexible and the part where the tongue meets the body of the boot jabbed and rubbed at my ankles so much that I was sore the next day.In the end, I switched to the softer, but easily scuffed Jadon Pisa Platform. I could see myself avoiding wearing the bricks and if I'm going to spend this much, I want to be able to happily wear these all the time.
These are lovely boots! They go with everything and if your small they add extra height which I love! The quality is amazing and the look of the leather is so beautiful made. The model of this boot is definitely a staple. A bit hard to wear in but nothing a thick pair of socks can’t fix. These boots are a labour of love id say. But the softer leather does help. Very true to size. And I love the bouncy feel of the soul!
I purchased these in a woman’s 8. I am a true 7.5 but with wide feet. I also have a bunion. These boots get a bit narrow at the top which is why I’m glad I sized up. I can feel my pink toes right before the edge of the lateral side of the boot. I guarantee if I sized down my feet would be forced into a pointed position which is not good for my bunion. I have not walked around for long in these but they are comfortable just put on. I don’t feel any part that would run against my skin when walking but will find out with a long walk and will update. I really was contemplating sizing down but I’m definitely glad I sized up. If you have wide feet and half size, you’re probably better off sizing up.
