Warning: wear socks with these when you're breaking them in and only wear them around the house or for a short walk. Maybe even have some slides handy to swap into just in case these get too unbearable. Don't get me wrong, I love them and all my other Docs have been the same way. They're hellish for a few wears and then once they're broken in they become the most comfortable thing you own. I only detracted a star from this cause I'm still breaking my pair in, but other than that they're really nice! They fit pretty well (I always wish straps on sandals had the tiniest bit more room) and I can't wait till they're all broken in so I can wear them more next summer.

I have a pair of Doc Martens boots that I love. Wanted to give their sandals a try. After reading the reviews I stuck with my true size 7-7.5. I order the 7 in the color parchment. Yes, the straps do fit a little wide across your toes but I found the ankle strap secures your foot in enough that my toes really don't move around. They are the chunkiest sandal I own so I have to get used to the look but I like them enough to order them in black.

LOVE these sandals! I wear the Dr Martens Jadon boots in cooler months, these are like the perfect summer style equivalent! I sized down 2 sizes from my boot size though, so may be best to consider this. A main reason is that the second and third straps that go across the foot closest to the ankle are particularly generous. I do have a narrow foot but my friend with a high arch also found this to be the case. Use the Dr Martens 'Wonder Balsam' product on the sandals to give them some shine and upkeep. They also have a moulded arch but nothing too high and painful. Highly recommend to anyone who loves the platform Docs look but also wants a secure summer sandal with an ankle strap.

I usually wear a 6.5 but after reading previous reviews I ordered the 6 in these. They were still loose overall and because there's no way to adjust the straps that go over your foot, those were quite loose. The overall effect was that the sandals were kind of floppy when I walked and not secure feeling. I'm returning them but keeping the Doc Marten Voss II sandals, which had a much better fit overall (also sized down a half size.)
This might be long so hold on tight. Let me say this; these sandals are absolutely beautiful. I’ve been wanting them for a while and I finally got them. Let me also note that my feet are probably a little wide, they are not slender whatsoever. Unfortunately, I hate them. I bought them in a size 8 and when they arrived they were HUGE. I thought I might’ve had to size down twice. Well, I found out that the online Doc Martens site does not do exchanges so you have to return the shoe, wait 4-5 weeks to get your money back, and then buy your desired size. I ended up returning those and buying a size 7. Size 7 was definitely smaller and more my size (well at least the length of the shoe to my foot ratio was fine) so I was extremely excited to try them on. Size 7 was definitely smaller and more my size (well at least the length of the shoe to my foot ratio was fine) so I was extremely excited to try them on. I put them on and immediately noticed that the 2nd strap from my toes is waaaay tighter than the other two. Why? I don’t know. This became an issue because i couldn’t squeeze my foot up high enough to keep my pinkie toe from sticking out under the last strap. It’s literally hanging on by a nail. When I walk its extremely uncomfortable. It constantly feels like my pinkie toe is fighting for its life. Another problem is the sole. I live in South Florida and it’s pretty humid here, even during “winter”. My feet sweat and slip and slide all over these shoes like no other. Maybe I should’ve gotten the hydro sandals?? I don’t know. I really wanted to like these shoes. Like really bad. And i’m just extremely disappointed. I’m keeping them because I like to believe that if I wear them enough I’ll break them in and my toes will fit better. I’m probably delusional.
I’m a huge fan of Dr Marten’s shoes. I still have my original pair that are 25 years old and still look great. However, I don’t like the materials Dr Marten is using in their shoes now. Some kind of synthetic leather. It’s not soft therefore it doesn’t bend or move with you. Scratchy, stiff, and just plain uncomfortable. I’m sad and disappointed.
I went down a size from my normal Dr Marten size and it was absolutely massive. Not just the length but all the straps are huge. My foot was rattling around, the straps are all so loose. Plus the shoe is super heavy, I can’t imagine it would be comfortable to walk in - the buckle was digging into my foot with each step. Good for wide or thick feet, possibly.
I am a Dr Martens fan and own a few pairs of different styles. So I was thrilled when the new sandals came out. After much deliberation I chose the Blaire in Hydro leather (which I'm not sure is actually leather, though it didn't say "vegan"). Didn't take to heart the reviews that said they run VERY large, ordered the 7 since that's what I always wear in DMs, but had to return those and order a size down. Put them on for the first time (even the 6 was loose... what kind of Amazon women did DM make these for?), went for a walk, and they started rubbing so badly I had to take them off after about an hour, which was enough time to create blisters that took nearly a month to heal - and I have scars! Aside from the crazy large size/fit, why Dr Martens would make sandals out of something that feels like hard plastic is beyond me. I don't know how anybody could wear these and not experience the same. I give them 2 stars because the design is cute and the construction is good, but the fit and material get 1 star. So disappointed!
I’m normally between a 7 1/2 and 8 so I did what was recommended & sized down to a 7. They fit fine length wise but the straps are SO loose. I don’t feel like I have particularly skinny feet but the top two straps are huge. I tried tightening the main buckle but when I walk the shoe moves around and my feet feel like they can slip and slide and I find myself trying to clench them so they don’t move. Since it’s leather it’ll only stretch out more. Will return, sadly.
I love them. But they are kind of uncomfortable. Usually a size 8. Returned and got a size 7. And they are still big ? Your feet slide all the way back when walking. Idk how to explain it but your foot doesn’t stay put. I know I’m not the only one, I’ve seen it happen to other girls I’ve seen them with. At first I thought they got the wrong sizes, bc their foot was almost out the sandal on the back, but upon getting my pair, it’s the sandal itself that makes your foot slide back. I’m not going to return but definitely not what I expected. Also, the second strap rubs against my pinkie since the foot slides back.
