I bought them in 2019. Wear them literally every single day, ever since. And they are only now, in 2023 starting to get a bit wrinkled on the leather/very worn down on the soles. Honestly a great shoe for the price. Cannot express how much walking I did with these! Even took them to Tasmania for 7 days and hiked everywhere. Once they’re worn in they’re amazing shoes. Suggest thicker or doubling up on socks for the wearing in period.

Their advice is to break them in slowly. Wear with thick socks, tied tightly, for 1-2 hours a day for the first week. I am currently conducting this experiment, and they are a bit better after day three. I wear a 9 1/2, and ordered a 9. The 10 would be too be big, especially in the heel, which slips even in the 9 if not tied tightly enough. Keeping my fingers crossed for continued improvement, since they are sooooo cute!

I ordered this boot in white. I wear a size 9.5M so I sized down to a 9. I have to return the boots for a size 10. My toes went to the end of the toe box. Unfortunately, you can't do exchanges online. I have to order the size 10 and return the 9 to the store. Or I can pay $9.95 to mail them back. I'm ordering my size because I found the leather to be soft not rigid at all. I'll still do the breaking in period as recommended on Doc Marten's website. The same boots are on their website for double the price. I'll take these from Nordstrom Rack for $80.

My plan was to make these silver, but then I saw them in person. I never thought white would look so good . I’m keeping them as is. I love the height, comfortable out of the box, true to size ( I wish docs were a bit narrower) and they don’t get dirty fast. I wore them outside in the rain and brushed my feet against wet boxes and nothing transferred. Still WHITE. The only bad thing is I still need shiny silver boots.
Awesome boots, the sole is chunky and stirdy but flexible enough where its not restrictive, its wear resistant and doesnt wear out as quick.Leather was stiff and plastiky like but with proper care I reccomend you invest into a leather conditioner and conition these boots inside and out.It will help to keep the leather supple and help with break in period. Make sure to wear double socks too and tie them tight. Speaking of tighing them up, the laces are awful quality they started to wear out and split within 2 wears so make sure you purchase better quality laces to replace these. The boots shape to your foot as you wear them and its absolutely worth breaking them in as their comfort increases with wear. Easy to clean, awesome looking, good quality boot. I decided to order a size 7 to see which felt better because these boots are seriously too cool to give up on. The 7's fit much better and noticeably look like they fit way better; the only issue is that my big toes slightly tap the front of the boots (only) when I walk; they are not squished and it's not painful, but I'm just very aware of it when I walk.I decided to keep the 7's and send back the 8's because even thick socks (which I don't want to have to wear all the time anyway) and inserts couldn't make the 8's fit right; I also know that leather stretches over time, so the boots would potentially fit worse later on. I took the 7's to a cobbler to have them professionally stretched for almost two weeks. They do fit better now, but my toe still finds the top of the boot easier than I like. I am hoping they conform to my feet and that resolves over time. Like I said, it's not painful but just something I am aware of when I walk. I wish these came in 1/2 sizes because then the fit would be absolutely perfect, which is why I gave these 4 stars out of 5.The leather is extremely thick and was pretty brutal to try to break in myself; they tore up the back of my feet through two thick pairs of socks when I was trying to stretch them out at home. It only cost $7 to get them professionally stretched, and I would highly recommend considering doing that instead of murdering your feet trying to break them in at home. I would say they were pretty unwearable out of the box. I understand that Docs are notorious for needing to be broken in, and these are no exception. All that being said, I am in love with these boots and am really excited to finally stomp around town in them to break them in to perfection.
These boots have been an excellent purchase for me. True to size and beyond comfortable. I have three pairs of Docs now and can see myself purchasing many more in the future. I love love love the platforms on these boots, stylish and cool, the design couldn't be better. The leather is also wonderful to look at and as long as you look after the boots they will definitely stay wonderful. Soles were comfortable and so was the heel, once you wear these in they'll be ready for anything.
