I bought this ointment because I wanted more after receiving some as a Christmas gift. I absolutely love it on my extrememly dry hands. It's SO helpful, and it's too greasy. I took off one star, because it says you can use it on your lips, and you absolutely can, but I find it then leaves a strange taste in your mouth. I do like that it is all natural!

It is fragrance-free and essential oil free, but it has an odd & off-putting natural scent. The texture is very thick, heavy and not smooth, but also not necessarily that effective at moisturizing. It’s a pretty basic ointment/balm that comes in a small size. The ingredient list isn’t that interesting and it feels more like it sits on the surface, rather than sinking in. i don’t think it’s really worth the price, even on sale. i will not repurchase. i’m going to stick with Aquaphor and also try Homeoplasmine, a French ointment.

I have suffered for years with bad dry flaky and red irritated skin under my nose. I had tried everything and spent hundreds trying to find something which moisturised it and took the dryness away and nothing worked. I initially used the normal yellow Dr paw paw and saw an improvement within a day. I have now used this shea butter one and it’s even better. Will never use anything else again now. The dryness has completely gone and the redness is slowly leaving too as if hardly ever itches now. Would recommend this to anyone.

Does not leave a sticky residue, skin is moisturized after usage. Size of the product is just nice and love the packaging. Would recommend this if you have oily skin as well because it gets absorbed very quickly.
Good to use as a handbag salve. Be aware that it is quite thick, so it might leave a greasy appearance. Personally I do not care, I slather it all over my face if I need an extra barrier, for example when it's very cold or windy. Using it on lips or cuticles is great.
Dr. Pawpaw's soothing balm has been my go-to lip balm for years. It's so difficult to find a fragrance free, dye free and vegan formula. I use the balm during my nighttime skincare routine and I wake up with smooth hydrated lips in the morning. It's very comfortable on and doesn't have much of a scent. The size is great too should last me at least six months. If you found this review helpful please give it a thumbs up. Thank you.
Difficult to press it out of the tube. I did not like the smell, it smells like an old cream. The texture is different from the original balm, which is more creamy/oily and melts easier and is much more moisturising in my opinion. Unfortunately didn’t like Shea butter balm at all. It’s strange, but it also made my throat tingly.
I was drawn to this product because of the simple, clean ingredients and it's multitasking abilities, however I planned on using it mostly for my lips. I also thought the addition of Shea butter would be extra nourishing, which is why I chose this over the original formula. After using it day and night for the last 2 weeks on my lips and hands, I think it's a decent product for moisturizing the skin but it's not a standout product for me. The biggest issue I found was that the corn starch in it doesn't play well on the lips. It tends to clump and just feel overall textured on the lips which isn't a big deal if you're just slapping it on before bed, but if you're like me and rub your lips together a lot, it's not a pleasant feeling and always makes me think my lips ... MoreI was drawn to this product because of the simple, clean ingredients and it's multitasking abilities, however I planned on using it mostly for my lips. It tends to clump and just feel overall textured on the lips which isn't a big deal if you're just slapping it on before bed, but if you're like me and rub your lips together a lot, it's not a pleasant feeling and always makes me think my lips are peeling and in rougher shape than they really are. And the thicker you apply it, the more you'll feel that clumpiness. Under lipstick, obviously this can cause issues. It *can* work as a lip primer if you use the tiniest amount. On the body, I think this balm actually works very nicely. Because the corn starch isn't coming in contact with saliva, it remains smooth and silky on the skin and isn't super tacky or greasy. But for the amount you get, you'd blow through this quickly even if you just used it on your hands on a daily basis. Overall, I think I would have been happier saving the $2 and going with the original formula for my needs however I think this product could still work for those who are seeking a more matte finish, particularly for the face. Also, a plus - no weird scent or added fragrance.
This balm works fine, it's not extraordinary but it feels nice on your lips and it makes them look very moisturized. The only thing I don't like is the smell. It smells like tree nuts. Macadamia or Brazil maybe?? It's really weird. Also, I don't think it's chunky or too textured like another review said. If you rub your lips together maybe it has a very slight texture but it's definitely not a big deal. The tube is 2.5 inches long, so it's just as big as a normal lip balm.
