Drain Clean 1L Liquid Enzyme Drain Cleaner

I am all for Enviro friendly non-chemical based products but they need to at least work somewhat close to the product they are trying to replace, I have been through 2 bottles of this stuff and it hasn't helped my blocked drain at all, not even a little bit. We were in lockdown when I purchased this so I was a bit limited on what I was buying. In small writing on the bottom left of the label it states "This product might take several weeks to start working but you should notice some effect within the first 24 hours" I don't think many people want to wait weeks for their blocked drains to come clear...

I found this product helpful to clear medium blockages of food particles, oil, soap and dish washing liquid deposits, that build up in the drain over considerable time. the bacteria in the liquid does eventually clear the blockages after a few days and works best if left in the drain overnight with each application. First leaving a cup or two of the bacterial drain cleaner in the drain for about 15-20 min, then flushing a little further down the drain with a cup or two of cold water, no more, and then leaving it to work in the drain without disturbing the process overnight, and then finally flushing through with plenty of water the next day. All of these methods work pretty well for most blockages, but might require multiple applications for more stubborn blockages!If the blockage is caused by tree roots however, then no amount of use from any chemical or bacterial drain cleaners will usually solve the problem. It may in this case, occasionally just loosen the gunk that's getting caught up in the tree roots, which sometimes clear through temporarily, but the problem will just return again! The only solution then, is to use a commercial mechanical drain cleaning machine (called an electric eel), or a high pressure water jet blasting machine, with tree root cutting jets attached. These are normally used by professional drain cleaning specialists or plumbers, which can often be quite expensive. If you're practically minded though and are willing to take on a challenge, with a bit of time, effort and patience, these machines, which can be hired from most of the tool and construction hire companies and are very effective!

I used this product for my blocked kitchen drains two years ago. It unblocked the drains in 24hours. This was the 2nd time I used liquid enzyme to unblock my kitchen drains. It unblocked a little bit. I might need two litres for a better result.
