Draper 15101 Infrared Thermometer

The thermometer does what you expect and seems reasonably accurate. Using it to monitor radiator temperatures. Delivery was exceptional on PO 24hr. Ordered one day arrived the next despite the strikes. Well done FFX.

Cheap and reasonable

No amazingly accurate, but good enough to get an idea of how hot something is after testing it on my log burner. I bought it to see how well my windows seal/keep in the heat, so will find out more when winter arrives...

Depends what you want it for?

I am guessing that many of these have been sold to measure individual temperature for Covid risk. Around body temperature I found the readings to be inaccurate and inconsistent.... at face value I should have been suffering from Hypothermia not Covid at 31C. Performed better in the Pizza oven, where +/- 10C makes little difference. It's in the kitchen drawer with other novelty items

Excellent, make sure target is large enough, worked well on 22mm tee and central heating pump flanges for me.

Works well, just ensure that your target is large enough, for example a 22mm tee worked for me, but you would probably struggle to get a precise reading on 8mm pipe.Excellent on wine bottles too, just make sure that you aim at the label to counter reflection of laser.Well made, useful and fun possibilities, just don’t aim it at your eyes and certainly not for body temperature!

Feels sturdy, measures temps and shoots lasers.

Laser is very handy for aiming and readout is clear and usable.Haven't sanity checked the temp readings but they seem about right.Slightly annoying there is no off switch but its easy enough to remove the battery when not using for a long period of time.

Good accuracy so far!

Press the trigger and you get a temperature reading. When tested against mercury themometers from -18°C to +55°C gave very similar results. A good piece of kit!

Good value and fit for purpose

Very handy for finding hot and cold spots. I haven't tried to verify its accuracy, but it gives believable readings, and for my purpose it is perfect, and seems good value.Also the kids have had lots of fun pointing it at food and drinks :)

Got my moneys worth

Can’t say how accurate it is 🤷‍♂️No good for human body temperature it is very inaccurate for human body temperature.Seems ok on my metal radiators and that’s what I brought it for. I was able to balance my radiators using this tool👍

Rapid pizza oven temp tester

Rapid temperature check, laser can be turned off if required. Does beep once temperature checked, but that's not really a big deal for me. I've not tested it for accuracy, really only bought it to test the pizza oven was heating.Very pleased, no concerns

Simple to use and reasonably accurate

Have used this to check the water temp from some immersion tanks and also to balance radiators. Really easy to use and fairly accurate temperature wise (checked against boiling kettle and iced water). Not good enough for consumer-unit / distribution panel thermal fault checking but it's about a tenth of the the price of a proper thermal imaging device. For simple jobs, this is good enough!
