Dremel 3000-1/24 Rotary Tool Hobby Set

This model has an issue with the locking collar over just a few uses. This locking collar slips resulting in a stuck (drill) bit and has to be replaced. Looks like a lot of folks are experiencing this issue if you just do a quick internet search.Home Depot customer service was exellent for a refund or exchange of it.

I am a born n’ raised Dremel fanatic my late grandfather was an extremely talented lapidary, ( person who carves precious gemstones,) and so too my mother became a person who carves stones and other media typically wood and opals. Then I came along to learn the versatility that a Dremel has its the most amazing handheld tool I know of in existence. just purchased this Dremel a couple of weeks ago as I had heard a lot of good things about it and how versatile it was. Plus, I started the "honey do" list that was so graciously provided to me from my wife. Needless to say, l have been extremely satisfied with this Dremel that I am annoyed it took me so long to get one. It has made my work so much easier, especially with the quick changing accessories. Definitely worth

4300 Dremel tool

Actually haven't used it yet , but I am sure it will serve me well . I will be liking the keyless chuck a lot . Should be a nice improvement over having to use a small wrench to tighten the chuck when changing accessory tips .

A fantastic shopping experience

I couldn’t be happier with the product or the supplier. The Dremel 3000 preforms flawlessly. It came with a wide assortment of attachments and a protective case. Also the shipping time was totally reasonable. It arrived in a few days and although it did not come directly to my home, which was an option, it didn’t even take 5 min. from when I arrived to when I was leaving the parking lot package in hand. I have used this tool for 2 years before writing this review. Its a great tool & I think its great in any household or lapidary shop. The pros outweight the cons. First the pros. PROS: outstanding versatility for a number of jobs. Polishing, carving, shaping, sanding, drilling or cutting? This is for you. Plenty of power. My toughest jobs with this tool have been cutting and drilling granite and other hard stone and with 2" & 3" non-Dremel diamond wheels & diamond core bits with water as heat eliminating lubricant. This tool can handle that and keep going. You can find a lot of accessories (ie cutting wheels, polishing wheels, etc) online that are not Dremel & they will work & save you money. CONS: The revolutions spin in a direction that are advantageous to a left handed person, meaning, if you are cutting or sanding right handed debris is directed back toward your face/body unless you are using the small shield adapter that you can affix (but then its hard to see your work). The tool eventually becomes pretty darn hot, so, take a coffee break now & then when you sense the motor getting hot. The tool has air intake and other spots where the dust you are creating from your project gets sucked into the internals of the tool. This is more of an issue when working indoors. I use a shop vac when cutting indoors to reduce dust or try to work outside using the breeze to drift dust/debris. You should use a dust mask and definitely use eye protection.

I purchased this item to replace the Dremel Mini Mite that I've had for several years. I had purchased 3 of those plus 4 rechargeable batteries over the years. I was going to purchase another rechargeable battery when I read several reviews that they just don't hold their charge. Each of my batteries had lasted 1-2 years, but then would die very quickly at the end. I didn't want to take another chance on it, especially with the Holidays here.I instead purchased this corded 3000 series Dremel. I am pretty happy with it. I use it to polish sterling silver. I use the lower 3 speeds which seems to be fine. I literally wore out my previous Dremel, so here we are. Got another. If you are looking for your first rotary tool, this kit is perfect. Dremel is a subsidiary of Bosch and as far as I'm concerned, one of the top three power tool manufacturers around. Included with the rotary tool are an assortment of accessories to get you started and get comfortable with using the tool. Instructions are very good and simple.This tool comes with a generous 2 year warranty. It is not compatible with the Dremel PL400 planing attachment nor the MS400 multi saw attachment. It does come with the sanding/grinding guide. All inclusive hard case for storage. Perfect.

This is my first time owning a Dremel tool. I like that it has a case to keep all the small tool tips in the same place as the tool. The tool tips also have their own little plastic box to keep them together. To give it a good test I tried several of the tips on some white oak wood I had. I tired them at several different speeds too. The grinding tip went right into the wood light butter. The sanding discs worked fine on any speed. The carving tip I have never did before so it took a minute to two to get the hang of it and adjusting the speed and I got it to work, but will probably never use it as such again. It allows you to work with the tip at 90 degrees or 45 degrees to the work item. It comes with a metal folding ring on the end it you wanted to hang it for storing, but I'll use the case for mine. The speed selector is a slide button that are easy to push either way for selection the speed you like. The working end of the tool has a nice grip to it so holding it like a pen/pencil is comfortable and firm. Changing the tips is so easy too. Don't really need the wrench. Just loosen the front ring area. Change tips and then tighten it back down. Nice addition to my workshop.

Very solid tool for those little odd & misc. jobs that always seem to happen. The nice thing about the tool and the accessory kit is the vast amount of work that can be accomplished. I have used my Dremel for all kinds of hobbies, plumbing, electrical, and all other misc. jobs that require a rotary tool. Although my wife doesn't do her own nails anymore, it has even been used for that. In my opinion, this is a must have for anyone who does their own work around the house or job. Besides what comes with the product, there are tons of accessories that can be purchased separately. I would strongly recommend!
