In a rush, I accidentally left sanded grout on brick paver backsplash for too long & it was very difficult to remove the excess that had accumulated on the pavers. I quickly ran out of options after trying nearly every grout removal tool & cleaning agent available. Fortunately, I came across this little guy & let me just say I was very hesitant to use it. But it was either try the abrasive wheel or start the entire project over again. yes, it wears out quickly but it was well worth the cost ($1,200 for the project vs. $27 for 3 sanding bits) **for reference: it's a 36-grit, rubber detailer @ $9/ea.** IT MADE MY LIFE EASIER.

Excellent value and great to use. Holds great when using cut off wheels, allot better than the old screw type mandrel. The set I purchased came in a set of two, that's great because you can use a different attachment on the other. There well made and hold your attachment good and snug. Once you try these you won't go back to the old style! You will need to purchase EZ Lock attachments for these new mandrels, the old ones will not work but I am always replacing attachments as they wear out. Get a set and start replacing the wore out with the new EZ Lock attachments!

If you're going to be using the cut off disk a lot you dont want to be caught with out one. This mandrel makes it a nice fuss free tool free blade change nice and quick. Practically no downtime to change the blade off fir a new one.Dremel has provided me this product in exchange for an honest review

In my current job I often have to do minor repairs and fixes in recently manufactures metal furniture. These small cutting wheels work great and allow you to use a rotary tool to get into tight spaces. After looking at the individual price, I noticed a significant savings when you purchased this set. Thus far I'm happy with this purchase.
This mandrel holds the larger, much stronger EZ-Loc metal cut-off wheels needed for small jobs. Quick change feature is a big improvement over the older screw-attaching mandrel. Highly recommend the minor investment for more convenience.
I was looking for something to help me "sand" the small, detailed areas of a side table. I was concerned about gouging the wood if I tried to angle in with sanding discs so I found myself perusing the Dremel bits at Lowe's, where I discovered this gem. It is flexible plastic, so it's softer than most wood, thus won't damage it while removing the finish. The only downside is how rapidly it disintegrates. It took me three of them to get through my project, but it saved me HOURS of detail sanding so it's an okay trade-off in my book.
Fastest way to switch out cut-off discs for a Dremel or Foredom tool; a real time saver, especially at the rate cut-off wheels grind down or break.
To be honest I was a bit skeptical about using these, but after a few weeks of use I'm surprised just how well they cut bolts. In one application I was dealing with a difficult to reach, heavily rusted (approx 3/8") bolt and I was able to get the dremel tool in position for a cut which went like a knife through butter on the Grade 5 bolt. Some small wear was detected on the blade after this cut. I later used THE SAME BLADE on a Grade 8 bolt --- it too went better than expected but I wore the dremel blade down to next to nothing.Bottom Line: surprisingly effective metal cutting capability from such a small tool/blade.Dremel's locking mechanism for the blades is also well designed. I strongly recommend these.
