Thanks to the Drunk Elephant Littles Head To Toe Set I've tried quite a few of Drunk Elephant's body products. And I've enjoyed using them. But as soon as I heard that they were adding to the T.L.C. range, I could not contain my excitement. As someone with dry/dehydrated skin all over, from my face to my scalp and body, I cannot get enough of the T.L.C. products. So today I'm putting the latest addition, the Drunk Elephant TLC Glycolic Body Lotion, to the test on my dry skin. So today I'm putting the latest addition, the Drunk Elephant TLC Glycolic Body Lotion, to the test on my dry skin. I'll start by saying that above and beyond normal dry skin, I have a condition called keratosis pilaris. Which is essentially like having little risen goosebumps on my arms and legs all day everyday. When I saw that this included glycolic acid I was very intrigued. Exfoliating and moisturising all in one step; where do I sign up?! The lotion itself is quite a runny and silky texture. It absorbs into the skin quickly and without leaving behind any residue. If your skin is particularly parched, you may need to follow this up with a super heavy cream for an added boost of moisture. However, using this in the warmer months, so far, has meant that I've felt more than happy with how much hydration it has given my skin. But what has really impressed me with this body lotion is the effect it has had on my little bumps. Along with any flaky skin that I've had. Unlike a traditional gritty scrub, which is usually only a temporary fix. This lotion has seen the skin issues that I do have get much better, without causing irritation.

I’ve been trying various resurfacing lotions on my body for a month or so (Dr Dennis Gross body exfoliant pads are just too expensive). I have been comparing this one to the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow Body 12% Aha/Bha Resurfacing Body Serum 47 Oz/ 140 Ml (I have a review of that too) and while both these definitely exfoliate and smooth the skin, I prefer the Farmacy one - even with its god awful odor. This is one of the rare times I’ve liked lactic acid over glycolic. The TLC one is 8oz, no scent, and has more product but…. I feel you need to use more of it to get results. It won’t replace my regular face moisturizer, but it’s a hell of a lot less expensive than DE face lotions. For $25-35 price, both these products are good. They’re both kind of small for body lotions, but I think with the Farmacy one you need less product to get results. And you don’t need to use that one as frequently. The TLC does moisturize better, so it’s kind of a toss up based on what your needs are and what your skin(and nose in regards to the Farmacy) can handle. I’ve had no adverse reactions to either, but someone new to AHA could get some irritation. I’d advise to never use after shaving, and start slowly. It says you should work up to daily use, but that is obviously a personal decision. This seems to be a favorite to those that deal with keratosis pilaris, so if you have that condition it might be perfect for you.

A must have, especially in the winter

I think the negative reviews are mostly from not understanding what this lotion does before they buy. It’s a stronger exfoliating lotion. I struggle with clogged pores both on my jawline and across my shoulders. This lotion has helped tremendously in keeping my shoulders clear and moisturized. I apply it straight out of the shower, when my skin in still damp and feel glowy the rest of the day. It’s great for rough elbows, knees, and feet. Become an absolute staple in my routine .

Bumpy arms gone!

I have really bumpy arms that I cannot get smooth. I've been using Aveeno lotion and Dove skin polish with no results. I swear, after 2 nights of using this lotion my arms are so smooth!! I can't believe it honestly! The smell is pretty awful because they don't add any fragrance so it kind of smells like chewed up wheat or something. The smell doesn't last very long and it's not too strong. It goes on really easily and smooth. It absorbs into the skin really nicely also. I highly recommend!!! I only gave 4 stars because of the smell.

Bye, Strawberry Skin!

This is the only product that has nearly erased the keratosis pilaris (aka strawberry skin, chicken skin) on the back of my arms. It's something that has always made me self conscious, and i've used combinations of scrubs and/or brushes and lotions/oils on and off for years with minimal affect. Two weeks of using this lotion every other day smoothed the texture and calmed the redness. It's now been 4 months of consistent use, and i'm at the end of the first bottle. It's a thin lotion that dispenses easily.Now that the weather is cooling and my skin is drying out, this lotion is not 100% effective at moisturizing my skin. I've started applying a different lotion after letting this one absorb, and it's played well with everything i've tried.Tip: Don't apply on irritated or freshly shaved skin. It'll sting like the dickens. The first time or 3 i applied this, there was a mild tingling sensation, but that went away once my skin acclimated to the product.

Great for treating bumpy skin

Bought this cream for specifically targeting bumpy skin on the upper arms (Keratosis pilaris), which my teenage children especially suffer from and normal moisturisers even premium brands have not helped with. However the blend of glycolic acid has had amazing results!! Within the first 2 weeks of using daily there was a noticable reduction in bumps. Most definitely worth the money if you suffer from bumpy skin and wish to smooth it out. Would recommend!

Great product let down by packaging

Let that be a lesson to you, manufacturers, samples and minis are so worth the outlay!). I bought this in the last sale as I suffer from KP and usually use Paula's Choice which is double what I got this for in the sale. The first time I used it, I didn't really notice anything very much but every time since, my skin has felt amazing and it soaks in really well, which is really important for me as I'm always rushing in the morning. I also like that it doesn't have a sickly smell and is pretty neutral. The only problem is that I usually end up having to open it with my teeth, which is a really bad thing to do - don't try that at home, kids! This is a major bugbear I have with both body and skin products, in that the designers go for pretty / silky packaging with lids with no grip that is completely impractical to open. This lid is really small and is hard to flip open. I also think it will become difficult to get the product out of the bottle before too long so I'm going to have to store it upside down and hope it doesn't leak like my Olipelx shampoo did (grrrrrr). Manufacturers and designers, you need to think about this stuff as in, is the product hard to grip when the user has product on their hands making lids hard to get off or in the case of Living Proof products, really hard to actually hang onto. Why would you make the finish so satiny? Anyway, I digress. This IS a good product but you may need to rethink the packaging, Drunk Elephant.

Lovely texture and NO scent

I bought this to use on the KP on my upper arms after using up a bottle of the Frank Body AHA lotion. It’s too early to tell if it’s made a significant difference to my skin, but I’m loving the feel of it and the best feature so far is that it has ZERO scent. The Frank Body alternative has a strong chemical smell so this is a welcome change. This one may seem expensive at first glance but when you compare the price per ml it’s actually slightly cheaper than Frank Body as well. This will definitely be my new KP go-to if it keeps my skin soft and smooth!

Renewed skin!

As I’ve got older I’ve really started to struggle with dry, scaly skin, ingrown hairs and roughness, especially on my legs.I was starting to despair of finding something that would help slough away the detritus to keep my skin smooth, hydrated and clear, whilst not being too harsh like many physical exfoliating treatments can be.This, however, does the job very well indeed. It needs consistent use but over time I have seen a marked improvement in the condition of my skin and my legs don’t look like a scaly lizard anymore! It’s also a lovely texture. Success all round.

Very smooth skin but funny smell, Recommend

This lotion is amazing! I have very rough and bumpy arms no matter how much lotion I put on. I started using this and my arms have never been softer! I still have a few dry bumps here & there but it's probably 90% better. It does have a weird smell that I do not like but it doesn't last and disappears once the lotion is absorbed (maybe 15 mins). It doesn't leave a greasy feeling and absorbs really well, you just gotta give if a few minutes to absorb and dry.
