Drybar Buttercup Blow Dryer

I love this hair dryer when it’s sage and fictional having 3 different heat/spreed setting with cool air setting made it my favorite hairdryer. So now why the 1 star. They have a two year warranty, first one caught on fire I was sent a replacement ( awesome!) this replacement took 3 weeks to come in end of March and today that replacement made this noise and caught on fire. I want a hairdryer that lasts over 4 months and not to catch on fire. I love Drybar; I just filed a claim to replace this hairdryer and I am hoping it last longer or they replace it with a different hairdryer. I don’t want another hair dryer caughting on fire. It’s scary.

It’s quieter and more gentle on my hair. Over all my hair has become more manageable after using this dryer, I no longer dread having to dry my hair, because it took forever. The only issue I have is on how expensive it is. The dryer I had before cost like half what this one does. But I can tell you that drying my hair now is no longer a dreaded task, it’s faster and looks better afterwards so I would probably repurchase this again in the future.

Actual power of a full-size dryer

It actually has the power of a full-size hair dryer! My hair takes forever to dry and I needed a travel dryer that could do the job that hotel and airBNB dryers couldn't. I was very reluctant to spend this much for a travel dryer, and actually tried a couple of high-quality brands at a lower cost first. In desperation, I finally broke down and got the Baby Buttercup and I am NOT disappointed. I'm mad that I wasted money on other travel dryers before getting this one. It dried my hair quickly and left it smooth and, most importantly, without the static I get from other travel dryers. Just grin and get it- you won't be mad at yourself.

Big disappointment

I used this hair dryer about 2-3 times a week for about 1.5 years. Then, it died. I was shocked. I loved that it was small and it left my hair soft without as much frizz as my old dryer. For the cost of this dryer, I expected more longevity. I was a true fan of Drybar before this. I Bought so many different shampoos, conditioners, dry shampoos, mousse, their brushes, clips, hair cap, round dryer brush, the large hair brush straighter, the small travel sized brush straightener and the small travel sized flat iron. All of the other devices are still working. I just won't buy anymore of their electrical hair tools because of my bad experience with the hair dryer.

Blown away! (Pun intended)

Historically hair dryers and I have never really gotten on. Until Buttercup my hairdryers typically were the cheapest ones from the argos catalogue and were clunky and smelled funky. I wasn't expecting to love Buttercup but this is nothing like the dryers of my past, it's lightweight so easy to use and most importantly doesn't smell like I'm frying my hair. I love a big bouncy blow out and have typically relied on my airwrap with the round brush attachment to achieve the look as I was always hopeless with a brush and dryer. Turns out it wasn't due to me being uncoordinated it's because I have thick hair and with a heavy dryer my arms got tired before I'd even reached the back of my head. The two nozzles it comes with are great for really smoothing the hair out and my hair felt soft and shiny with minimal effort. Couldn't be more impressed!

Decent dryer

Bought this on a whim because I wanted to try the Drybar hairdryer but didn't want the full size because I already own a Dyson. The first one I received did not work, it looked like it had been returned. I got the second and was disappointed at first in the heat settings. There are only two (low and high) settings and the high heat isn't very hot. I was skeptical but it did dry my super thick hair quickly. I think the travel size is okay for occasional use but it is expensive for something you don't use every day. If this is your only dryer, invest in something nicer or at a minimum the full size Buttercup.

Love it!

I love this hair dryer so much! Such a cool colour and it is so powerful! Dries my hair quicker than any other hair dryer I've ever tried! I also love how lightweight it is too, so no more achy arm when you're blow drying your hair! It definitely makes my hair smoother and less frizzy than my old hairdryer, so a winner all round! Smooth, sleek, styled hair in half the time! Plus it comes with a big and small nozzle for different styling needs!

My new favourite tool!

Ok, so first things first, obviously this is the cutest hair tool you'll ever own and the yellow makes me happy every time I use it! In terms of performance, this is one of the best hair tools I've been introduced to in years. It cuts drying time on my waist length, thick hair by about 1/3 (which is not an easy job!) and leaves it looking shinier with a lot less flyaways and frizziness than otherwise. Being someone who's hair takes a while to dry, I appreciate that this is so lightweight and doesn't give me a hint of achey arm, and it works wonderfully on my daughter's long, thick 3A-3C curls too. This is definitely my household's new go-to tool!

Smooth strands that dry in a flash

I discovered DryBar in New York years ago and was ecstatic when they launched at Cult Beauty! Now I'm a bit of a hair tool collector, always in search of the latest styling superstars to add to my assortment and this blowdryer has swiftly replaced my usual go-to. If you want silky smooth locks that dry in a flash, look no further! The ionic technology smooths my strands all while cutting down my dry time making styling so much simpler. It's by far the lightest I've ever used and the gorgeous yellow brightens my wash day.

Super cute and power but broke

I bought this dryer for it's weight and speed. For that it is awesome. It also is that easy to spot distinctive color. Best of all it seemed to make hair a little more fluffy. However it broke right out of warranty. I'm not a daily or even weekly hair dryer. It was used maybe 20 times total before it broke, something electrical. That is not acceptable for a dryer of this cost. I never travelled so it wasn't like the airline broke it or something. Just junk!
