Dumb Ways to Die - Card Game
Introducing the Dumb Ways to Die Card Game by Spin Master Games! In this adult board game, you will win or die trying! To play this family board game for ages 12 and up, you will need 2-5 players. You can even play as a card game for couples. Welcome to Dumbville! While you're here, your only goal is to make sure that your Beans don't die. Fair warning, these bumbling Beans will ALWAYS find dumb ways to die. Their survival depends on a deck of cards that MIGHT help (but mostly won't). So, in the face of almost certain death, you better hope you're lucky, or at the very least, that everyone else dies first. Hilarious bean cards include deaths by taking your helmet off in outer space, eating a tube of super glue, & more! Launched in 2012, Dumb Ways to Die was originally created as a rail safety campaign for Metro Trains Melbourne, before growing to become a hugely successful brand in its own right.

In exchange for my honest review, #thisisbutterly sent me the newly released board game “Dumb Ways to Die” from #spinmaster. Whatever you might think, it is NEVER a good idea to poke a grizzly bear with a stick. My last of 3 beans, Hapless, died that way, a very dumb death for sure! This game was actually a lot of fun. It seemed complicated at first after reading the directions, but once I watched a U-Tube video, it was actually easy to learn. I loved the holographic cards, the feel and the designs, but the cards were limited and felt like there should have been more. However, 54 cards were sufficient and the game was loads of fun. My family loves it!

We had a great time at home during our last game night with this board game. After so many years of singing that catchy jingle, and after playing the video game for a while, I am happy to finally add this cool board game to my collection. I must confess I have an obsession with those cute but dummy beans. The instructions are quite simple to learn and the cards are made of a beatiful and sturdy material, which is a definitive plus. As many games, it can be played a little differently when there are kids present, than when it is just adults. The main difference is you can be as nice and passive as you want, but you can also be aggressive and sabotage the game just for the fun of it.We had a blast, and I absolutely recommend playing it with more than 2 people. The setup was straightforward, requiring players to shuffle the deck of cards and deal them evenly among the participants. Each player started with a hand of cards, ready to face the dangerous and silly challenges.Gameplay:The gameplay was highly entertaining and captured the spirit of the viral video perfectly. Each card depicted a different scenario, such as "Tickle a sleeping bear" or "Juggle flaming torches." Players took turns placing cards on top of one another, attempting to outdo the previous player's challenge by making it more outrageous or dangerous.Strategy and Decision-Making:While the game seemed simple at first, it quickly became apparent that strategic decision-making was crucial. Players had to balance the risk of playing high-scoring cards against the potential penalties they might face if they failed to meet the challenge. The illustrations were whimsical and carried the distinct visual style of the original video. With a large deck of cards and the ability to create countless combinations of challenges, each playthrough felt fresh and engaging. The unpredictability of the gameplay ensured that no two rounds were the same, keeping the experience exciting and enjoyable.Audience and Accessibility:The Dumb Ways to Die Card Game was suitable for a wide range of players, including both children and adults. The rules were easy to grasp, making it accessible to newcomers, while still providing enough depth to keep experienced gamers engaged.Overall, my experience with the Dumb Ways to Die Card Game was incredibly positive. It successfully captured the essence of the viral video and translated it into an enjoyable and engaging gameplay experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, lighthearted game that guarantees laughter and entertainment.

We enjoyed playing this game! Its funny, in a quirky sort of way lol. It was easy for everyone to get the hang of quickly. Those silly beans certainly make it hard to keep them alive . I had never heard of the viral video this game is based on before, but watched it after getting the game to see what it was all about. All this to talk about railway safety - odd but effective!! This game is definitely going into our rotation for nights when we need a quick light-hearted game to entertain us :)
On no screen time Sunday, we had my nephew over to play some games. I opened up Dumb Ways to Die for them to pay together at the table, and they had a great time. My daughters and nephew are teenagers and had a riot playing this game. There were lots of giggles in the different ways the beans could die. This kept them occupied for over an hour. It was great to find a game the older kids can play and have fun with without getting bored and wanting to find something else to do. I had lots of time to clean up the house and prepare dinner while they took turns trying to keep their beans alive. Some of the cards have outrageous and funny ways the beans can die and I feel like it teaches them how to be safer and not make mindless choices like hanging your head out the car ... The Dumb Ways to Die Card Game is a lot of fun! We played it with both 2 & 3 people, and I can only imagine it would be even more fun with more players (more chaos ensues, lol). Love the interpretation of the game -- from the rock-paper-scissors take on how to save yourself from an accident, to the no-one-is-safe psycho attack (lol), the variety of ways to interact with other players & the cards is well thought out and very fun. The artwork is adorable (even with all the carnage, lol) and love the animated Bean Cards that show how you lost a life! Definitely not for young kids, so pay attention to the 12+ or you be the judge of if it's appropriate for your kids -- but hopefully even if you're not familiar with the videos, the front cover should give you an idea of ... The card game comes with a great instruction guide with pictures and demonstrations making the rules easy to follow. The game flowed well and was easy to play. The 54 cards are your typical card quality of paper, so I can see them keeping their shape. The animated cards are neat where you can see two different images depending on how you angle the card. Reminded me of the stickers I used to collect when I was a kid!Fair warning, some of the death images can be a bit graphic. We played only with adults and discussed how we couldn't see kids 12+ playing this game.I did read up on the history of the game and how it originated as a campaign to ultimately keep people safe. However, this is no where in the booklet, so the card game comes across a bit disjointed. Also, when reading about the game, it repetitively states that this is an adult game, but the age typing is set for 12+. I do feel like this game should only be played by adults and that the age requirement should reflect how the game has been advertised for adults.Overall, the consensus was that although the game was easy to play, the excitement to play it unfortunately goes away quickly.
Our family received the card game Dumb Ways to Die to play from Spinmaster. Our 16 year old was excited as she had played the app version of this game before. At first glance I was a little worried that the instructions (included in box) might be a little too confusing. Our 16 and 8 year old daughters gave the game a try on their own first. They said it was fun but they adjusted the way they played a little bit from the instructions as they were unsure. They asked for us to play with them. I followed along with the instructions while the 4 of us played and was able to sort out what the kids were a little confused on. By our second game we had it.The game is fun! Its competitive, there is a strategy to winning, and its a little twisted which we all loved. Trying ... Trying to save your beans and then inflicting actions onto the other players beans was fun.Watch out for the Psycho card !!! We had a bunch of beans all get wiped out in one round it was chaos, and tons of laughs.I recommend this game for families. Its set for older kids buys out 8 year old was okay playing this also.Small and easy to travel box. Take this with you. The images on the cards and cute and morbid. Love it .

The instructions are very clear and very easy to follow and clear. To be honest, its better to play this game with more players. Its a very simple premise and theres other cards to make the gameplay a bit more fun, like the Wheel of Misfortune (forcing one player to discard and re-draw 2 cards) or my favourite, Set Fire to Everything. I love that they included bean cards of some of the funnier ones from the app so we could pick 3 of our favourites to try and keep alive, like Lax, who ate a two-week-old unrefrigerated pie.Overall, we had a lot of laughs over this game and this is exactly the type of card game we like to play simple, quick, funny. Itll be coming along on vacation where Ill have 3 pre-teen to teen kids to keep entertained for 3 weeks and this is perfect for that!
