I am really sad to have to give this a single star because I usually love shopping anaconda. I was in their the day before our first trip with the awning to purchase the right fittings for it and the customer service was fantastic. The awning is a great product too and had it been in new condition I probably would have gave it 5 stars. However when we fixed it and tested it out the day before departure, it was clear that the item had been used by the dirt marks on the outter bar. Then when we unfolded it their was a burn hole in the canvan (possibly from a campfire... or cigarette ash). I purchased the product online through anaconda and I am very dispointed to see it was not new as advertised. Bought this awning on special and used click and collect as none of them were available near my home. So was able to reserve this at a very low price of $59. The brackets come with long bolts that can be used,when wanting to drill through your crossbars. I ended up buying 4 bolts that are compatible for the Thule bars on my car. They are available at Anaconda. Unfortunately the holes in the brackets are too small for the bolts, so I had to enlarge them with the drill, which was easy to do. As for taking the end caps off, as written in the instructions, there is no need for it as there is a slot in the middle you can easily put them in there, 2 on each side. Great purchase price and for the money, it turned out to be good quality. With additional mounting brackets (Yakima Easy Off Kit) it easily installed onto a 2021 Suzuki Jimny with Suzuki genuine roof racks without the need to drill holes and use bolts. The awning was simple to unpack, erect and repack (two people recommended for swift operation, but one person with practice can erect it simply enough). Very happy with this gem of an awning!

This awnings is perfect for me. As my SUV is such a different shape up top, so the 2mtr option was slightly to big and bulky where this 1.4mtr awning fitted my roof perfect. As well as proviving a fast shade option for out camping experiences, it is also just great while we're out and about with our dog who often needs some instant shelter outside of the car. If i want it wider I just peg a tarp to one side and post that down. Good all-rounder.
I bought the Dune 4WD Awning as a surprise for my grandson and he absolutely loves it! He had plans to fit out his first ute for camping, so I went looking on the Anaconda website for ideas. After I watched the video about the awning on the Anaconda website I was very impressed with the quality and price. It has been a great success on his camping trips, providing shade and shelter. It was easy to fit on his ute and rolls away easily and compactly. I highly recommend this awning, it's real value for money. Be sure to watch the video on Anaconda, you'll be impressed.
I purchased this for my work truck and it’s well worth the money. We pull it out and have smoko under it, it’s great. We really enjoy sitting under it, kicking back and eating a pie with our nuts hanging free from our west tigers footy shorts. I especially love it when some hot mince falls from the pie and lands on the right one, it’s gives me a real kick. Great product I highly recommended
ProsEasy to install on square tubed roof racks, easy to deploy. Lightweight, good sun protection, best if complemented by trees. Optional sidewalls for privacy or elements. Material is between swag and tent, poly??? so water runs off unlike canvas.Dries quickly so less mould damage.ConsWater will pool unless pitched inclined (by shortening poles).Manufacturing workmanship quality can be compromised (see photo)...a minor adj I thought I would fix myself.All in all a great product for the price. Its already paid itself off, but then again, Im out every weekend. This is my first awning, only because the 270 was out of stock, so a comparable product will probably change my rating.
The cover is made from a thick material with a good zipper.This will keep the awning clean and dry and protect it from rubbing on twigs and branches.Installation was quite easy with the aluminium channels and brackets. This allowed adjustments to align the awning to my vehicles roof rack.Extending the awning only takes a few moments and your all set up.I have the 2x2m which is the perfect size for me.
Only just had awning installed. Looks sufficiently sturdy with good quality fittings. Can set up & pack away by myself if careful. I like the poles are adjustable to length & cN tighten/loosen with one hand. Did my homework before purchasing. Cover & canvas are sturdier than other awnings & excellent value for money. Purchased on sale.
I am extremely happy with the dune awning. It is well built and appears to be of a good quality aluminium (we live near the beach so this is important). The case also seems to be good quality with strong zippers. It is easy to erect and simple to pack away by 1 person. I have a high roof van and it would be nice to have a little bit longer poles but it would be an absolutely perfect height on any 4WD.Anaconda have kept the price down and sold it quite cheap but it's not a cheap product. The delivery was super quick considering postage is supposed to be slower at this time of year. Well worth every cent.
