Dune by Frank Herbert
DUNE Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Muad'Dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family-and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream. A stunning blend of adventure and mysticism, environmentalism and politics, Dune won the first Nebula Award, shared the Hugo Award, and formed the basis of what is undoubtedly the grandest epic in science fiction. Frank Herbert's death in 1986 was a tragic loss, yet the astounding legacy of his visionary fiction will live forever.

The Dune worldbuilding is some of the most intriguing and in depths worldbuilding out there, together with a plot filled with interesting political and philosophical plot points, making this a must read (in my opinion) for sci-fi or fantasy readers in general. The novel is very well written, though the dialog is written in very flowery language to the point where it doesn’t feel like person to person interactions. This can be a negative for some people (me included) though I know this is not the case for everyone. The romantic sub-plot also feels like it gets rushed and doesn’t get enough build up and proper development. Some of the abilities(keeping it vague to avoid spoilers) also feels a bit to convenient at times and ended up towards the end of the book feeling ... MoreThe Dune worldbuilding is some of the most intriguing and in depths worldbuilding out there, together with a plot filled with interesting political and philosophical plot points, making this a must read (in my opinion) for sci-fi or fantasy readers in general. Dune is one of those rear books that can be revisited and reread every 10 years or so, starting from when about 15, and of reading it wall offer up a new experience with new ideas to grapple with.Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune should all be read to Muad'dib's whole story. Then as an epilogue to all of them God Emperor of Dune needs to be read to understand Muad'dib's vision and burden and the sacrifice his Son finally made.As a work of Science Fiction this is one of the best to expand on Psychology, Political and Social Science, Evolution, and Ecology. These are the hard sciences it dives into. Very few authors and works have done this as well Frank Herbert in the Dune sager and in his other works.

-Son of PapapompI watched the Dune Movie in 2021. So I got the idea to read this book, and that decision was not a mistake. i love the book and its interesting topics, and the cover art is beautiful. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes sci-fi/fantasy.
Item is in great condition. Only thing is it took a understandably long time to get to me ( Detroit to Hawaii ) . Would highly recommend !)
