Absolutly. I love this pick!!!

I love the grip! Even with vigorous play this pick will stay in place. The structure of the Primetone offers a clear ringing tone of the strings; fantastic for lead tones! A favorite that will be a mainstay in my assortment!

Certainly worth a try in whichever thickness you prefer!

This pick has a very nice feel. Personally, I like the traditional shape in .7 3mm; although, it comes in 3 different shapes and a variety of thicknesses. The main reason I ordered this pick is for the raised grip. It feels good and it is easy to hold on to. They are a bit on the pricey side, but they have a much longer life span than something like a celluloid pick, not to mention that they sound much better on the strings as well.

Definitely worth it.

These really are worth it. They come out of the bag feeling like a broken in pic. It was the first time that I stepped up my pic game, but now that I did it makes perfect sense. You spend thousands of dollars on guitars, gears and amps, and then only pennies on what you are using to interface with all that gear. The best part is how solid having a designed pic like this makes you feel. First day using these upped my comfort level for playing live.

Excellent, undroppable picks that give a bright, articulate sound.
6 June 2019

Dunlop Primetone Standard Guitar Picks with Grip are excellent. I NEVER drop these, EVER. I've been using the 2.5s, which are chunky, thick and inflexible, making them great for single note picking. Now I'm trying these 1.0 Primetones for playing rhythm and they're great too. Primetones are made of a material that gives my guitar a very bright, articulate sound, which I love. I also like Dunlop Max-Grips but they're made out of a softer material and give my guitar a much darker, less articulate sound than these Primetones. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. The Primetones with Grip are my very favorite picks.

Fast, firm, and the perfect amount of grip. My new absolute favorite pick.
13 April 2021

Love the Ultex feel and the grip is perfect, not too much-not too little. The first time I touched Ultex to a string I knew it was special, then I tried the Primetone and wow what a grip, not too grippy but just right for my sense of feel. It's very easy to let this pick "float" for rhythm and yet have a great firmness for single notes and picking. I got lucky and found both of these in a variety pack. I have ordered more. They are that good. I also like the Jim Dunlop's Tortex over celluloid, but Ultex is slicker and quicker-Primetone brings it all together. My experience is with .88 and 1.14 Tortex, 1.0 Ultex, and .96 Primetone. The .96 Gator is good too, but it's Tortex (Delrin). Only one complaint--they're so dark you'll never find a dropped one at night. If ... MoreLove the Ultex feel and the grip is perfect, not too much-not too little. Good picks for a fuller tone
21 May 2019

These are great picks. I play them on electric and acoustic though on the acoustic I'll sometimes use the 2mm version. Plenty of smooth attack with a mellower tone. I wouldn't call these "twangy" if you're looking for that type of sound. I play a Tele and Les Paul and prefer these for the LP. Not that expensive and definitely worth giving them a try!

Good quality..just a bit hard for my liking

Great pick and like the thickness..just for me personally the material is a bit hard and produces a very bright tone. Ive found that I prefer the softer Delrin picks

I am a repeat offender with these pics
15 July 2021

I discovered the Dunlop primetone pics and decided to splurge once. Now I'm kind of addicted to the whole line and the grip on them is perfect they seem to make me play just a little bit more accurately with my right hand. They're expensive and addictive you've been warned.

My new bluegrass mando pick
13 April 2016

I've been using 1.14 mm Ultex picks on the mandolin for years, but these won me over. I love the extra thickness and the sculpted tip - they're a little more substantial but still have some bite when I need to be heard over a banjo. I originally got the grip version so I could easily tell the difference in the dark between these and the 1.5 mm picks I use for jazzier stuff, but I found the textured surface was nice to have during a sweaty 4.5-hour gig. A bit pricey, but the dark color means they're not as easy to lose as the translucent yellow Ultex picks. Love 'em.

good but overpriced
22 April 2018

I like most Dunlop picks and these offer textured lettering and tiny raised granule type dots for good grip but might feel irritating to some people. They are made of a lightweight material/plastic? I use the side/edge of picks rather than the tip most of the time and these have a knife type bevel which is ok. I just don't think these are priced right, this pack of 3 is about $1.00 a pick which is too high... I don't see the worth. Picks are just cheap plastic so despite the 'design' I don't think any guitar pick is worth over $1.00 per pick unless it's made of high quality steel, stone or some carbon fiber.
