This is the best of the best, field tested and abused. Was still working until an unnamed party tried to make it run on gasoline. My Fluke didn't survive either. Unnamed party banished in shame and forced to walk endless circles in the salt flats! Meanwhile my new DYMO RHINO 4200 is living the cushy life indoors and pampered. In order to register a full battery it needs a battery at a minimum of 8V but with 6 rechargeable batteries, you can't get more than 7.2V (1.2V x 6 batteries). At 7.35v the unit says the batteries are dead and prints very poorly.The only solution is to constantly change out the batties with ONLY non-rechargeable alkaline batteries or possibly use Li-ion batteries that could provide the full 1.5V per battery giving the needed overall 9V. Overall not a great design, and could have been designed better and with more power resilience.Further, when you try to call them about this issue, they just send out a new unit that has the exact same issues.

This label maker is exactly what I wanted for my production needs. We currently have a Brother P-Touch PT-D400AD, but I wanted something different for my needs. I let the wire harness specialist keep the Brother P-Touch PT-D400AD, while I use the "Rhino". It's better for my set up.

The bottom right spring is positive, the top right is negative. I had to easily modify the door with side cutters to allow for a little extra space to fit my battery. Instead of buying a charger, i just use a step down driver to lower 12v to 9V and a 5mm jack to plug it in. Rhino makes an excellent, very rugged product. Only issues with feeding i have had was with 1 bad ribbon and I go through ribbon packs like crazy so it has been very reliable for me. Next I will be gluing Neodymium magnets under the case so I can stick it on panels. I probably prefer the 4200 over the 5200.
I bought the kit about 2 months ago. Where I used to work we had a 5200 and I hated the non-qwerty keyboard. The 4200 has an easy-to-use qwerty keyboard and works well. I like having pre-defined labels for patch panels and patch cords. I prefer the cable wrap to a cable flag. The storage case has a bit if wasted space and I wish it was smaller, often times I throw it in my backpack when going from site-to-site and a smaller case would be preferred.
