It didn’t feel any different in my hand than my other flat iron did. It does not snag my hair as long as I use appropriate sized sections. As I’ve found with literally every other flat iron - using larger sections increases risk of snagging. I have an easier time using this flat iron without snags than any other flat iron I’ve used! I was able to run this through my hair to straighten it EASILY without the battery dying on me. It typically takes me 30+ minutes to straighten my hair (without doing a makeshift blowout first) because my hair is curly/wavy and does not straighten easily. I guess my ultimate test will be on air dried hair! Is this worth the price tag? Maybe not. But if it’s healthier for my hair - I’m here for it! I definitely like this flat iron and recommend it. **edited to add: tried this on my hair after air drying (curly/wavy). straightened it VERY fast, and VERY straight. I have never gotten my hair this perfectly pin straight EVER and to get it even close to this would take me at least an hour with my previous flat irons. This flat iron did die on me during my very last section of hair and the battery does go FAST. but I really don’t care that much because it’s not like I’m having to charge it multiple times during one styling session, and it doesn’t take long to get a decent amount of charge to finish styling my hair. Hopefully in the future they will be able to use a better (?) battery but I still love this flat iron! My hair is also so much softer and shinier, and less tangly after using this.

Great convenience, results are good but not wow

This is a tough product to rate - on the one hand there are several features that I really like and that I have not seen on many or even any other straighteners. I love the cordless functionality and how quickly the tool heats up. This combined with being able to plug the charging cord into the stand means that instead of putting everything away after each use, I now just leave the Corrale sitting in its dock most of the time, ready to use for quick touch ups. The convenience is superb, and even better because the dual voltage and airplane mode features mean I can literally take this anywhere, even overseas where the Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap can’t go…. The convenience is superb, and even better because the dual voltage and airplane mode features mean I can literally take this anywhere, even overseas where the Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap can’t go…. This is one of the primary reasons I chose the Corrale - I wanted a convenient tool that could come with me when I travel overseas and generally don’t have a ton of hair care or styling products with me. Another big positive is that there is no singed smell when using the Corrale, which I have to believe is due to the technology. It also works, for me anyway, on even the lowest heat setting. The Corrale leaves my hair frizz free with a nice shine, and it usually takes minimal passes. I find the battery lasts plenty for me and that the cordless feature is well worth it. In all, the Corrale does a good job of straightening and curling, at least the loser types of waves I like to give my hair some body and bounce. But that’s where I run into trouble with the rating - the Corrale does a ā€œgoodā€ job - the results don’t blow me away, they are just ā€œgoodā€. In fairness, they are achieved with all the convenience I just described, and with less heat and presumably less damage, but I don’t know that all justifies the incredibly high price. Ironically, part of my less than 100% satisfaction is influenced by my overwhelmingly positive experience with the Dyson Supersonic, which I consider a true game changer and worth every penny with respect to the results and the speed with which they can be achieved. Maybe the true advantages of the Corrale over other straighteners are the speed, convenience and lower heat with which good results can be achieved rather than the more obvious superior results you can get with the Dyson Supersonic over any other hair dryer I have tired. I don’t regret buying the Corrale but it is not a game changer for me the way the Supersonic is. I do like the Corrale, but If it broke tomorrow I would not necessarily miss the product, I would mostly be mad about the money I spent. If I broke the Supersonic, however, I would have to find a way to replace it right away - that’s just how much difference it has made to how I am able to dry and style my hair.

Love it but not in love with it

I'll start off by mentioning the size of this straightener. The Dyson Corrale is bigger and heavier than most straighteners which isn't bad just takes some getting used to. It has a magnetic charging dock which is awesome as it securely holds the straightener in place and can be charged in between uses. Instead of laying it flat on the counter (or on the heat resistant travel pouch it comes with) you can just dock it and pick it back up while working on sections of hair. In terms of battery life itself I expected this to hold the charge longer at this price point. A full charge will last you about 3 hours (it lasts me about 2 and a half days of use) before it needs to be charged again. It's marketed as a way to use less heat to achieve straight strands. I have fine thin hair and use this straightener at 365 degrees and have noticed that my hair starts to wave after a few hours. Meaning, If I straighten my hair today - I'll have to straighten it tomorrow again if I want pin straight strands. I feel it does not keep my hair straight as long as my CHI straightener does. I will continue to use this straightener over my CHI since I love all the features and how it looks overall. My only real complaint is the lack of battery life and that it does not hold my hair straight as long as cheaper options do. If portability is what you are looking for then this is a great choice.

Not for straightening actually curly hair

I generally LOVE Dyson products but this one is a pass for me. Unless you fairly straight hair already (think wavy or just frizz), this is is not the product for you.The pros: It charges up quickly. It's pretty. It is lightweight. It is made by Dyson.Cons: Battery dies quickly. If you have 3a hair or curlier...it will only survive maybe half your head. You really need to keep it plugged in which makes it not worth the price point. It will straighten some of your hair...but the battery dies too fast to be worth the premium price. It is simply not worth the price if you can't use it cord-free so it is disappointing that it just doesn't cut it for curly girls if not plugged in. My friends who have fairly straight hair can definitely use this no problem but this is no match for my 3b curly hair. You can certainly get better results with a cheaper straightener IF you have curly hair so I would say pass on this unless you either have money to burn, are a hardcore Dyson fan or have already fairly straight hair to begin with.

Was GREAT until it wasn’t

Let me first say I received my Dyson straightener in April of 2020, so this review is literally based on 3 years of continued almost daily use. I have thick wavy/curly hair that was long, then short, and now somewhere in between. This tool WAS amazing. I always got beautiful results and minimal damage. Even my hairdresser noticed my hair had less heat inflicted damage. All was great until it wasn’t. Flash forward to now March 2023, since late November my iron can NOT come to temperature or maintain temperature unplugged. No big deal, I just continued use while plugged in…now late February early March, even plugged in it will reach temperature but only stay ā€˜alive’ for 5ish minutes before losing all power and shutting off.I have reached out to dyson, and repair ...Ā MoreLet me first say I received my Dyson straightener in April of 2020, so this review is literally based on 3 years of continued almost daily use. It’s almost certain I need a new battery (lithium battery’s do have a lifespan…2 years) but dyson makes sure I can not purchase one. I also can not find anyone to offer a repair other than the dyson repair center that is HOURS (and hours) away. They won’t offer me to mail my product in for repairs because it’s out of warranty.Though customer service has been polite, they have not been helpful at solving the issue. I’m incredibly disappointed that such a great (and costly) product has such a short life span. I hope in the future Dyson entertains either a replacement battery, or a corded non battery version of this tool.

We were rooting for you
10 October 2022

I was so beyond thrilled when I received the Dyson Corral in the mail from Influenster! The packaging and presentation were just stunning and gave such a luxurious feel to the experience.Sadly, the presentation might have been the best part about this straightener. While the weight to the straightener feels nice and luxurious, the practicality isn’t quite there. For somebody who has thick hair this would be a nightmare on the arm.The straightener has the option to be used wired into the wall or you can charge the device and use it cordless. The plug in was good and sturdy and had no issues of it becoming disconnected. The wireless feature is what put the nail in the coffin. The charge life is practically nothing. I didn’t even get through half of my head before ...Ā MoreI was so beyond thrilled when I received the Dyson Corral in the mail from Influenster! The packaging and presentation were just stunning and gave such a luxurious feel to the experience.Sadly, the presentation might have been the best part about this straightener. While the weight to the straightener feels nice and luxurious, the practicality isn’t quite there. I didn’t even get through half of my head before it started to die on me.I work where I have to travel so if anything I would use the wireless feature when I am heading down the road to where I need to go ( passenger of course🤣) if it’s just a quick straightening or fast curls.Overall, I am kinda disappointed. The wireless feature is what made this seem so nice, but without that I have had straighteners from Target that would perform the same.

Zero star if I could

I own several Dyson products including the hair dryer, the Airwrap, and this Corrale straightener. And of course, two different vacuums. Because of my love for Dyson products, I even purchased another Corrale and Airwrap for my mom. Out of the three hair products, I do gravitate towards the straightener the most and use it daily. I contacted Dyson customer service several weeks ago as my straightener will not last more than 3 to 4 minutes with the device being fully charged overnight. Although I had explained to the customer rep about how this particular device was a replacement of my initial one due to the SAME EXACT issue, I was told to get it fixed through the Dyson service center. The representative also stated that I didn't have any other options since I was not eligible for a replacement as the 2-year warranty expired a few months ago. I felt like he was quick to dismiss my concerns and my rant as he told me to go get it fixed through the service center, and that "they'll know what to do." I contacted and went to the service center and was told that the battery is not replaceable nor fixable. The rep from the service center told me that my only option was to purchase another straightener. I paid close to $500 for this straightener, and paid a hefty price so that I don't have to replace the device---not after less than 3 years of usage. Thankfully, I was able to get the first replacement that allowed me to drag on the use of this straightener for two full years--but now, it may need to be tossed out as Dyson can't resolve this for their devote customer. So, don't be too quick to push that "add to cart" button because you may be the one to be complaining about this same issue down the road. Help yourself, and get something that's priced reasonable off of Amazon as it may be far better and will last you much longer.
