The detangling comb is easy to use and helps greatly to quickly detangle hair.

Upon learning about the Corrale, I had my doubts, as I had read reviews of snagging and was concerned that my wavy/curly mix would suffer. Also, the cordless design is honestly amazing -- I can walk around my apartment in the morning as I style my hair, which sounds crazy, but seriously, it's a perk. The only cons that I can give the product aren't even worthy of dropping a star rating. The Corrale is quite heavy, but after a while, I became used to it. The only real annoyance I've had is that my battery occasionally dies if I'm spending a long time styling, and plugging in whilst styling doesn't always work. However, my hair is long and a curly/wavy mix, so if you have short hair, I don't forsee this being a problem, but you might want to look into other reviews. Overall, those two cons definitely don't outweigh the pros of the product, and I've adapted to them. All in all, my hair feels healthier and looks great. I couldn't be happier with the purchase and can confidently tell the beach wave girlies that I found a straightener that works for us!

When I want more volume/movement in my hair, rather than a pin straight look, I prefer the Dyson straightener.Cons:- it's expensive - I waited for a sale to purchase it and it was still more expensive than my other hair straightener;- the battery only lasts around 30 minutes, however, this is long enough to style my medium length, frizzy hair. I return it to the charging cradle whilst sectioning my hair, so it continues to charge. I have not personally found the battery life an issue;- the charger cradle and plug are together quite bulky so they take up a bit of real estate on the counter top or in a drawer when storing - and I pull out the whole lot if I am using it. I often end up just reaching for my other hair straightener, particularly if I am in a hurry;- my hair doesn't feel like it 'glides' as smoothly through the Dyson as my other straightener. Whilst this is really a very, very minor thing, it is, oddly, one of the reasons I still sometimes prefer to use my other straightener;- the end result between the Dyson and my other (less expensive) hair straightener seem very similar to me.Overall, this is a great hair straightener. If price is not an issue and if you don't already own a good quality hair straightener, this one is worth considering....especially if you can pick it up on sale. I personally did not find it enough of a 'game changer' that I would purchase it again if it breaks as there are other high quality, less expensive options that meet my limited needs and appear to achieve a similar result for my hair.[For reference, I have course, medium, naturally wavy hair that I always straighten as it is a frizzy mess if left to its own devices. I prefer to wear my hair straight but with some volume (ie. not flat against my head) and I don't curl my hair].

Great convenience, results are good but not wow
21 March 2023

This is a tough product to rate - on the one hand there are several features that I really like and that I have not seen on many or even any other straighteners. I love the cordless functionality and how quickly the tool heats up. This combined with being able to plug the charging cord into the stand means that instead of putting everything away after each use, I now just leave the Corrale sitting in its dock most of the time, ready to use for quick touch ups. The convenience is superb, and even better because the dual voltage and airplane mode features mean I can literally take this anywhere, even overseas where the Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap can’t go

The convenience is superb, and even better because the dual voltage and airplane mode features mean I can literally take this anywhere, even overseas where the Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap can’t go
. This is one of the primary reasons I chose the Corrale - I wanted a convenient tool that could come with me when I travel overseas and generally don’t have a ton of hair care or styling products with me. Another big positive is that there is no singed smell when using the Corrale, which I have to believe is due to the technology. It also works, for me anyway, on even the lowest heat setting. The Corrale leaves my hair frizz free with a nice shine, and it usually takes minimal passes. I find the battery lasts plenty for me and that the cordless feature is well worth it. In all, the Corrale does a good job of straightening and curling, at least the loser types of waves I like to give my hair some body and bounce. But that’s where I run into trouble with the rating - the Corrale does a “good” job - the results don’t blow me away, they are just “good”. In fairness, they are achieved with all the convenience I just described, and with less heat and presumably less damage, but I don’t know that all justifies the incredibly high price. Ironically, part of my less than 100% satisfaction is influenced by my overwhelmingly positive experience with the Dyson Supersonic, which I consider a true game changer and worth every penny with respect to the results and the speed with which they can be achieved. Maybe the true advantages of the Corrale over other straighteners are the speed, convenience and lower heat with which good results can be achieved rather than the more obvious superior results you can get with the Dyson Supersonic over any other hair dryer I have tired. I don’t regret buying the Corrale but it is not a game changer for me the way the Supersonic is. I do like the Corrale, but If it broke tomorrow I would not necessarily miss the product, I would mostly be mad about the money I spent. If I broke the Supersonic, however, I would have to find a way to replace it right away - that’s just how much difference it has made to how I am able to dry and style my hair.

Great straightener but heavy
13 November 2023

When I first opened the box, I was skeptical because the device seemed like a lot. It was not a regular straightener and it was not as simple as just plugging it in and start using it. It almost seemed like too much and I started to regret my purchase. It took getting used to and I am still not where I want to be using it after about five tries. First, it is very heavy. My arm definitely gets tired after using it on my thick and full head of hair. That is the biggest complaint that I have - it is very heavy. The charge is my other complaint because it starts beeping when I am almost done and then I feel rushed trying to finish before it dies on me. It lasts only about 20 minutes before it starts beeping because the battery is low. My hair will last 2-3 days with minimal touch-ups, which is great for me. So, I am still torn and a little undecided about spending this much money on a device that I am not totally in love with. I do have people tell me how nice my hair looks. which is a positive as well.

Low battery quality and too heavy to use

Overall, I had a pretty bad experience with the Dyson Corrale hair straightener. I generally love Dyson products, and I already have several Dyson hair tools, but this straightener is not impressive at all.I purchased it as a Christmas gift for my wife, even though it is overpriced. I believed in Dyson's technology and reputation, since my wife's Dyson hair dryer and Airwrap have been great experiences. My wife mentioned that it is too heavy and that the battery dies within 30 minutes of use. She has thick hair and wanted to make sure this straightener was worth the $500 price tag. Of course, the temperature reaches pretty fast and stays consistent. It is pretty straightforward.. But after only 5-6 uses, the battery failed completely. It is a $500 straightener, not $50.Even though Dyson offered to replace the machine(thank you), my wife wants to use a regular wired and lightweight straightener instead. It is much cheaper and easier to use.I do not usually leave reviews, but I think it is important to share my experience with other consumers about this product. I am very disappointed with the Dyson Corrale hair straightener.

Not Good For Long Hair
7 October 2023

I have to say I was quite disappointed with this product. I have medium to long hair, and the biggest issue I encountered was that the battery life just isn't long enough. It's impossible to straighten my entire head of hair before they run out of power. One major drawback I noticed is that if they run out of battery mid-use, you can't just plug them in and continue straightening. You have to wait for them to charge, which can be frustrating when you're in a hurry. The cordless feature, which initially seemed like a great idea, turned out to be quite pointless for me. When you use them while plugged in, you have to be extremely careful not to accidentally knock the magnet cable out, which is quite annoying.Another issue is that these straighteners take significantly longer to heat up compared to other corded brands I've used in the past. And even after waiting for them to heat up, I didn't find the results to be as good as other brands.Considering the high price tag of Dyson's cordless straighteners, I expected much better performance. Unfortunately, I don't think they're worth the investment, especially if you have medium to long hair and want a consistent, hassle-free straightening experience.

Not worth the $500 price tag
20 November 2023

Ok this is going to be long but only because I feel like I need to really explain my reasoning for my decision to return this straightener and for coming to the conclusion that it is ridiculously over priced. I don’t mind paying good money for quality, what I don’t like is to pay good money for the brand and not get the quality. I’ll explain. This product is waaaay overrated, overhyped, and overpriced. I’ve been wanting a cordless for a while and I had my eye on the Dyson because I have the hair dryer and I loved it so much I even bought my mom one as a gift.I wanted to like this straightener, I wanted to make it work, but eventually I realized I shouldn’t have to try this hard and bend over backwards for something SO freaking expensive. For reference: I have ... MoreOk this is going to be long but only because I feel like I need to really explain my reasoning for my decision to return this straightener and for coming to the conclusion that it is ridiculously over priced. For reference: I have long curly hair (type 3a) and I used this straightener a total of 3 times, twice on myself and once on my sister. All 3 times the straightener was used on the highest heat setting.-Observations-PRO:- hair doesn't feel fried, does look healthy- scalp doesn't feel burned or sensitive from the heat after each use- it has a very sleek/expensive look; its a very beautiful and regal looking straightener (I got Prussian blue).- Because it’s cordless, it has a setting you can switch it to when traveling so the straightener doesn’t turn on accidentally when stored away in a luggage— I thought was a smart addition.- Loved that it came with a travel pouchCONS:- HUGE pain in the butt while straightening cordless, the battery doesn't last at all. Maybe it works best for hair that is already semi straight. I ended up having to plug in the cord because I never had enough time.- No matter what I did it always left my hair frizzy. At first I tried it with nothing on my hair (no product). I noticed it was leaving my hair staticky and some strands a bit frizzy, I decided to try another strand of hair with heat protecting oil-- the result was pretty much the same. I tried a few different strands with different types of smoothing hair/heat protecting products and again, nothing. I really wanted to make it work, and I really wanted to like this! But I started becoming frustrated because a straightener that costs this much should not be needing me to bend over backwards to make it work. I spent so much time going over and over the same strand of hair which made have less time to straighten my hair on cordless mode, but then again, I had it on blast.- Hair did not last very long. I don’t know how to explain it but, I would straighten a strand 3000 times then move on to another strand and by the time I finished with that section half of the hair was frizzy or looked mildly straight! Which is very annoying and frustrating when you’re trying to get a sleek look and you’re spending time going 3000 times over the same strands. By the end of the day it looked like my hair was messy despite me not going out of my house or doing any form of exercise that would make me sweat.- My 9 year old $40 straightener I purchased at the mall in 2014—and the reason why I wanted to buy a new straightener in the first place, straightens better than the Dyson. Granted, it does damage my hair and it always leaves my scalp sensitive which is why I was able to note the difference when I used the Dyson. But it never leaves any frizz behind and the style lasts for daaaaays. Which is what you would expect from a $500 straightener..just saying.- My sister used it as well, and did not like it. She used it in conjunction with the keratin treatment and she feels that it didn’t straighten her hair properly because the next morning her hair was mildly straight and looked like it needed a passover, which is fine but our other straightener doesn’t have that problem and, again, this is a $500 straightener. In CONCLUSION:This was NOT worth the extreme price tag. This straightener could've been $90 at MOST for the cordless feature, the other $410 is for the Dyson brand. I will be returning it (shocker), and I will look into the babyliss pro. At least if I'm going to be frying my hair I can do it with a straightener that's $400 less, delivers the desired look, and lasts weeks.

Stopped working 2 months out of warranyt
22 October 2023

It worked well for a while even though I did have issues with it. 1 is it is pretty heavy and does pull hair as straightening. It is not a smooth straighten, I look down in my sink after straightening and it is full of broken hair. I bought primarily for the cordless option as the cords on products get wrapped around my drawer handles, very annoying. This product solved the problem for 2 years but then the battery started lasting shorter and shorter about a year and a half in. I failed to call Dyson bc I just did not have time and kept using it for a shorter and shorter time. Finally it only would last about 2 minutes so I called. Customer service informed me the warranty expired 45 days ago. So disappointing for such an expensive item. Customer service informed me the warranty expired 45 days ago. So disappointing for such an expensive item. The lady at customer service would not say anything but "sorry" and " yes maam", that was annoying as well. The only options they gave me were to drive 2 hours for service with no guaranteed of being repaired or buy a new one for 20 percent off, which was an ongoing sale anyway, so nothing special. They could have offered 20 percent off the sale price, but no.To use with the cord attached , works a bit longer but the magnet is not strong enough to stay on. Have to keep reattaching. Also, the heat setting are too hot at 410 or too low at 356 degrees, no inbetween. It is very bulky and difficult to get fine baby hair next to face.In my opinion, Dyson is not what it used to be.I found a much nicer flat iron for much less money. And fyi - I did try the Airstraighter. Was not happy with that either!.

Was GREAT until it wasn’t
28 February 2023

Let me first say I received my Dyson straightener in April of 2020, so this review is literally based on 3 years of continued almost daily use. I have thick wavy/curly hair that was long, then short, and now somewhere in between. This tool WAS amazing. I always got beautiful results and minimal damage. Even my hairdresser noticed my hair had less heat inflicted damage. All was great until it wasn’t. Flash forward to now March 2023, since late November my iron can NOT come to temperature or maintain temperature unplugged. No big deal, I just continued use while plugged in
now late February early March, even plugged in it will reach temperature but only stay ‘alive’ for 5ish minutes before losing all power and shutting off.I have reached out to dyson, and repair ... MoreLet me first say I received my Dyson straightener in April of 2020, so this review is literally based on 3 years of continued almost daily use. now late February early March, even plugged in it will reach temperature but only stay ‘alive’ for 5ish minutes before losing all power and shutting off.I have reached out to dyson, and repair centers but nobody can offer a solution. It’s almost certain I need a new battery (lithium battery’s do have a lifespan
2 years) but dyson makes sure I can not purchase one. I also can not find anyone to offer a repair other than the dyson repair center that is HOURS (and hours) away. They won’t offer me to mail my product in for repairs because it’s out of warranty.Though customer service has been polite, they have not been helpful at solving the issue. I’m incredibly disappointed that such a great (and costly) product has such a short life span. I hope in the future Dyson entertains either a replacement battery, or a corded non battery version of this tool.
