I had always wanted a Dyson, especially since I had three dogs and one cat at one time. When our old vacuum broke we replaced it with a Dyson animal vacuum. It is amazing. It’s suction is powerful enough to pick up every little fuzz off the floor. It comes with great accessories that attached to the detachable handle. The accessories are great for cleaning along steps and baseboards, furniture with pesky animal hair and even the heavy curtains. It is bagless which is great but it does have filters that need to be cleaned. Every now and then the vacuum needs a good cleaning to makes sure it runs efficiently. I would recommend a Dyson vacuum to anyone. They make so many varieties that you’ll find the perfect one for you.

I have always used Dyson vacuums because they last so long and clean so well and this vacuum is no exception. However, this vacuum gets so much hair stuck in the roller. I clean it very often but it’s very hard to get it completely clean and I have had to replace the roller twice now. Other than that, it works great

This vacuum is by far the best vacuum I've ever owned. My boyfriend and I purchased this before we moved into a new apartment (ALL CARPET) back in May 2015. Our Kitty before moving was an outdoor cat and had to transition to being an indoor cat when we moved into our new place. The combination of our 1100 square foot apt and our now indoor cat caused quite a lot of dust/hair/dirt. I am very allergic to cats so this was quite the dilemma for me. Thankfully this vacuum does an amazing job at sucking up cat hair/dander/dust/dirt and sometimes even things you don't necessarily want to vacuum up. My vacuum and I were doing great once a week vacuuming up everything I desired...until it wasn't... Thankfully this vacuum does an amazing job at sucking up cat hair/dander/dust/dirt and sometimes even things you don't necessarily want to vacuum up. My vacuum and I were doing great once a week vacuuming up everything I desired...until it wasn't... The wand you use to vacuum stuff up has a few different attachments depending on what task is at hand. My task last August was to vacuum up all the excess cat litter/lint in our combo bathroom/cat bathroom/laundry room. All was going well until I stuck the wand in between the wall and the side of the dryer trying to make sure I got every piece of lint hair etc. All of a sudden I hear a noise where I could tell I vacuumed something bad up there and could tell the suction was being impaired.. Somehow I vacuumed a mini sized BIC lighter that got wedged in the middle of the vacuum wand. I literally tried every way I could think of to try to push it out. I tried sticking a long dowel down the tube to try to push it out which only broke my wooden dowel.. then I tried to lubricate it with some water/oil which also didn't work. Finally after two weeks of attempting to dislodge the lighter I broke down and bought a $20 replacement off Amazon and then proceeded to snap the busted lighter stuck in it one in half (took a number of attempts so clearly this is some well made plastic)
This is an exceptional vacuum if you have high shedding pets. I have two labradors that shed constantly and this vacuum is a lifesaver! Suction is strong, canister capacity is large, the telescoping hose is great for a quick vacuum of hard to reach places, and it does not emit an animal dander odor. It is a bit heavy and pushing it on carpet can give you a workout, but it will definitely leave you carpet looking new.
This is my 3rd Dyson in 15 yrs. They don't last as long as I would love. This one works great. I do have a dog so it does pick up so much hair and dust that I have to change the cannister quite often while vacuuming. I have to.open the cannister and stip the dirt and hair from the filter mesh or it won't suck. I have to cut our hair from the brush every single use. I guess these are trivial.complaints because it sucks so well. Nonetheless less still very annoying that it requires so much upkeep to function.
I was skeptical at first while unpacking the box, because the entire product has a plasticky, cheap, breakable kind of feel, as compared to the Kirby I am replacing with this one. I still have some concerns about the durability of this Euro-centric vacuum, but now that I have seen it in action I am sure this will be an awesome machine for my needs. The brush is super powerful and really fluffs the carpet better than the Kirby, while at the same time providing extremely powerful suction just as advertised. The ball makes it easy to maneuver in awkward spaces and paths which really helps with speed and ease of use. The attachment hose is hard to use because it wants to shrink to its collapsed state under the high suction and it needs to be pulled out constantly to ... MoreI was skeptical at first while unpacking the box, because the entire product has a plasticky, cheap, breakable kind of feel, as compared to the Kirby I am replacing with this one. The ball makes it easy to maneuver in awkward spaces and paths which really helps with speed and ease of use. The attachment hose is hard to use because it wants to shrink to its collapsed state under the high suction and it needs to be pulled out constantly to keep it extended which makes it hard to reach with. I like the way it converts to hard floors with one button, instead of needing to stop and change out the face of the vacuum like I did with the Kirby. And I really love seeing how much gets pulled up from my floors and carpets so quickly into the clear cyclone chamber. It makes me wonder if the Kirby was leaving that stuff in my carpet. Good product but not full 5 stars because of the durability concerns of cheap plastic parts.
I have a white 60 pound boxer who sheds constantly, and his hair is difficult to remove from carpet and furniture. I thought our current vacuum was doing okay, until I did a head-to-head test with our recently purchased Dyson. Whereas our current vacuum was still leaving a thin layer of hair on close inspection, the Dyson was able to almost completely remove it on multiple passes. The more passes we did, the more clean the spot got, unlike our Hoover. The turbine power hand tool also removes hair from out suede couches way better than our previous vacuum's hand tools. So in short, if you are getting this for powerful suction and/or to remove pet hair, you'll be impressed. Overall the rest of the vacuum is great. So in short, if you are getting this for powerful suction and/or to remove pet hair, you'll be impressed. Overall the rest of the vacuum is great. It is a little to complicated when switching between floor vacuum and hand tools. The entire handle has to slide out for you to then attach the right tool, and it doesn't slide back in super easily, so frequent switching got somewhat annoying. The weight is average, but it rolls across the carpet extremely easily, and the auto adjust height is an excellent feature. It'd be nice if it had a lever for switching between locked upright or leaning back for use, as the built in "catch" can sometimes be fickle if you don't give it a thorough push. Though this might be a sign ofbeing a used vacuum. For being a refurb, the condition was good, with minimal signs of wear. Their isn't a manual included, just a brief picture guide, so I had too look one up online to see what the other tools are specifically for. Empyting the bin couldn't be easier, and the cord is high quality and very long.
Pros: The vacuum cleaner cleans the carpets well, and excellent on non-carpeted surfaces.Cons: Almost impossible to push on carpet. I was given a different suction head but it made very little difference. The assembly etc instructions are in picture form with no words which makes them worse than useless. I went onto the website and watched the video to finally figure out how to assemble the machine. The attachment for hose vacuuming is tricky to attach and not very good to use. The vacuum falls over when I want to stop vacuuming. It was even difficult to work out how to empty it. The handle for pushing the vacuum around is badly designed and hurts my hand.Sadly, with the best will in the world, I cannot recommend the Dyson.
The equipment isn't 'easy' to assemble, the pictograms are not that helpful. The written instructions are far more useful. Though once assembled and powered up, the issues with assembly are forgotten. The quantity of dirt / filth this equipment pulled out of my carpets is amazing. I knew my old vaccy had less 'suck' but I never realised it was so inefficient - like it was only stroking the carpet rather than removing dirt. I am very pleased with my purchase as regards raw power and sucking capability. On the outside, the equipment itself doesn't seem to have much metal in its construction, just the usual Dyson colourful strengthened plastic. I can see the handle breaking over the next few years as a result of use - it does seem flimsy but being Dyson I assume spare ... MoreThe equipment isn't 'easy' to assemble, the pictograms are not that helpful.
