This means after she uses it with her attachments, then I go to use it and put on my attachment, and the settings are exactly how I like them. The final, and probably most important feature to me and for my scalp, is how it automatically adjusts the heat setting according to how close or far from my scalp I place the hair dryer. You can see the change in setting with the lights on the unit going from red-orange-yellow to show less or more heat output. This automatic changing of temperature gives me that peace of mind that this styling tool is preventing the type of damage I’ve been trying to avoid.I have no experience with the new wave + curl diffuser, but this has become the go to attachment for my wife. She says the way this styles and dries her hair is better than anything she’s tried before to the point she even uses it to style my daughters hair.At the end of the day, this hair dryer is a game changer. There are more features and attachments I haven’t even mentioned in this review, but like all Dyson products, this is in a class of its own.

After just a few uses, my hair is already looking shinier and healthier and my scalp doesn’t feel itchy or dry anymore. Sadly this Dyson dryer produced frizzy, straw-like results. The packaging is BEAUTIFUL. The box was elegant and provided a "high-end" appeal. The device itself is very handsome however, who cares about presentation if the end result does not provide a nice blowout?! Both my daughter and I have fine, long, wavy hair. We took the added measure of visiting a store to do the first test blowouts and were unpleasantly shocked by the results. As stated, we both ended up with frizzy, straw-like texture. It also produced ZERO volume. It is also a bit awkward to use because there is no neck on the device to blowout the back with ease. I imagine stylists don't have the latter complaint because they stand over you and move around the head. While she stated she preferred the Dyson, watching the videos it was evident that even her hair looked dull and stiff from the Dyson, while shiny and flowing with an Italian made model (not certain if we are allowed to name so we won't but it's baby blue in color). Anyway, I invested the money because I am willing to pay for quality. Regrettably - for my family, this dryer did not live up to the hype and left us in need of a good conditioner and a new blowout.
I received this as a Christmas present. I’ve used it a few times so far. It arrived well packaged.I only use the scalp protector nozzle, directional nozzle and the flyaway attachment. Haven’t used the diffuser yet, but I might use it in the future. The comb attachment is useless for my hair type and think it is only for afro type hair. The hair dryer itself is nice and compact. Only thing I don’t like about it is the handle. It’s slightly too big for my hands and is slippy. I would prefer a slightly thinner handle and some sort of non slip grip on it. I like the memory feature so you don’t have to change settings between nozzles. I use the scalp nozzle to rough dry my hair first on high heat and full power. The weight isn’t too bad, but would be better if the handle didn’t slip. I’ve knocked a star off for the handle, otherwise I would give it 5*. I got the case free with it, which is quite large. Could possibly be made smaller. Also got the clips free which are a nice addiction and much better than the cheaper butterfly clips which can pull and snag your hair.

Typically I burn my scalp by getting too close on a high setting so the fact that the supersonic automatically adjusts the heat is amazing! I also suffer from psoriasis and am typically worried styling my hair will cause a flare up but I haven't noticed any flare-ups at all! I ... MoreI have had this product for a couple of days now and I am thoroughly impressed! I really enjoy the heat control feature. I found that the supersonic dried my hair fast and didn't leave me looking like a lion. I was very very excited about the defuser however I didn't have much luck with this attachment. I put this down to user error rather than the product itself. I had very beautiful curls underneath and at my roots but the top layer of my hair was fluffy, this could be due to damage but the defuser attachment seemed to try and blow my top layer out of it rather than let me define my curls. Sections like the roots or bottom layers which don't have anywhere to blow were very defined and beautiful. I think more practice will resolve this issue. I love that the machine recognises when I put it down and stops! I have the Airwrap and I am a culprit for leaving it blowing on the bench whilst I section out my hair, it was nice to have it stop. In comparison to my Airwrap, I feel the Supersonic created a longer-lasting style. I love my Airwrap but my frizzy, curly hair means the beautiful blowout I achieved is basically gone by the time I step out the door. I found that my hair was straight and voluminous all day with the Supersonic, something that is unheard of for me. Overall, this is a great product if you care about your scalp and hair health but still want to feel fabulous and styled! Definitely recommend!
I absolutely love our new Dyson Supersonic hair dryer! The colour is beautiful, and it’s surprisingly lightweight. It’s a lifesaver for my daughter and me, catering to our very different hair types (thin/straight and thick/wavy/curly) with its smart attachments that remember our last used settings. Yes, you read that right! It memorises the settings for each attachment. So, no more fiddling around trying to remember what worked last time and since my daughter and I use mainly different attachments, it works out so well for us.The “always cool” setting is a godsend! My daughter used to use a sieve (yes, a kitchen sieve!) with a hair dryer to try and get the defined curls look. But with the dome-mode diffuser, she gets those results without the awkward DIY solution. Revolutionary!My personal hero is the flyaway attachment. After some light straightening, it's my secret weapon against the evil flyaways, it gives my hair that polished look with minimal effort.The storage box it comes with, is giving real luxury vibes while being so conveniently practical. I keep my comb, hair clips and couple of scrunchies in there too.It's an investment, sure, but one that pays off in ease, efficiency, and, let's be honest, a bit of envy from my friends, hehe.
The Dyson supersonic nural definitely makes for a very interesting piece of engineering. The scalp protection future does not disappoint. If you are anything like me, and usually fry your hair with the highest heat settings, this will prevent you from doing that without compromising the ability to actually dry your hair in the same or less time than usual. As someone going through the fun phase of postpartum plus new twin pregnancy, I deal with copious amounts of hair loss, my own version of confetti. Dry scalp from heat exposure exacerbates hair loss, which I would guess this new amazing piece of technology would be great at preventing from happening.
