In retirement I labored as a handy man in a mobile home park. The recession hit the widows in the park. One discovery was a reliable, tankless, inexpensive hot water heater Ecosmart 11. Over a half dozen years I installed about 10 of them replacing failed tank type water heaters. They are money savers from installation to every day use. Never had to repair one, never got a defective one, never had a complaint. They save a lot of space in cramped quarters too! All my installations were in summer cottages or Florida homes. Larger models are required where very cold water is entering the systems in the winter. Do your homework!

Had The ECO 11 for 6 years and never experienced any issues with my hot water. Have had many guests and they never had any issues as well. I had the same unit for 5 years in my previous house that I sold and it had no issues as well. My electric bills are very low due to this unit, since I am not constantly heating up 30 gallons of water as is the case with a conventional water heater. When I sold my previous house I got top dollar since the buyer considered it a high tech house due to the ECO unit. I have enclosed a picture of the unit in my laundry room.

Once you set the water temp. it is constant!! I also recommend a 2 year warranty.......I have no experience on how long they will last, but my feeling is, the should last for years without trouble! I set it up for the whole house, but its best not to use more than one fixture at a time.... I think for large households, more than one could be installed.....

This is our third location to install an EcoSmart water heater. Love them! Very easy to install. We had one in our old barn and currently have one in a wash house. We bought this one for our workshop which has a full bathroom and kitchenette. I suggest using flexible lines to connect to the sides of the unit if you are not particular about the look. This is a pic of a smaller unit, but setup is identical.
New 11.8 installed. Sometimes will get water at set temp. Most of the time it is well below set temp and will intermittently for short period of time jump up to set temp irrespective of other usage (toilet/sink).
I have been using this item for about three years. I have a small home and it takes care of the hot water needs of three adults, with no complaints. I do have a smaller unit at my kitchen sink, as I do a lot of cooking, with fatty greasy dishes (gotta keep that cholesterol at a proper level.), and want the water there much hotter then the rest of the house. When taking a shower I lower the water temp so as to avoid using cold water to offset the hot. I would estimate I have cut my energy costs by more then 25% since installing the Ecosmart. There is a very small learning curve for use, as the temp is effected by the flow rate when initially turned on. The learning curve is not even up to the level of being called challenging. Try it! You'll like it!
Nicely made unit. Clean lines, nice display, lightweight, easy to mount. You'll need a terminal box to wire it up since it comes with it's own pigtail cable (they don't want you to open up the case since it will void it's warranty, apparently; multi breaker units might be different), so I bought an inexpensive 60 amp A/C unit type cut-off switch box with a pull out switch. Just mount it near the heater on the wall and run your 6 gauge wire to it from your breaker panel. I just wish they had included adapters so that you can plumb it to 3/4" piping, so you'll have to buy your own if you wish to connect it to your existing 3/4" pipe. I had trouble using pipe dope (maybe it was too old or the wrong kind?), so I switched to Teflon tape (5 layers) on each fitting and ... MoreNicely made unit. Love the easy to turn dial, press to turn on/off feature and easy to read digital display which comes on when hot water is called for. Now, we'll see how long it lasts before some type of failure...
built a 16' lean to on our 40' barn, half a patio other half finished with bath & a pool not far away great for family get to together. Love having hot water. Now you need to know how a tankless hot water heater is different from a tank hot water heater. With a tank hot water heater when you get hot water on you have hot water tell you turn off or run out of hot water. With a tankless hot water heater you will also get hot water, but when you turn it off then turn it back on you get hot water that in in the line between your faucet & heater then cold for same time then a little hotter for just a second then just the temp you you dialed in.Not sure if I would like it in a house with kids but if you have a bath room a long way from your tank you would have hot ... Morebuilt a 16' lean to on our 40' barn, half a patio other half finished with bath & a pool not far away great for family get to together. I think the best use would be in your barn, shop or some place you do not use hot water all the time. Or if just the two of you it will save you money. Now in our bath room the water lines are in the room not in the walls, as we go south in the winter, we use a small heater & keep the room warm or think I can turn water off drain lines & blow the water out. The heater is about the size of a cereal box so we just hung it on the wall above the john. When we take a shower I do not use any cold water just dial in what temp. I want & turn hot water on if a little hot or cold I just reach over & adjust temp.So at my place in life I would buy again.
so just got this unit instated and replaced 6 years old Titan (220watts)that just hasn't been getting up desire temperature lately. read bunch of reviews and this unit had better ratings . it was easy to switch from old unit as water and power hookups are almost the same . tested and it want keep up with fully open single sink , I had to reduce water flow at inlet pipe . did not measure but it seams im getting aprx. 2 gal a minute. no way to use 2 outlets at same time. btw we are in coastal northern Washington state
