Brought this machine about a year ago and I tell everybody they should buy one. Does a fabulous job buzzing around every afternoon before anybody gets home and the adjustable power settings mean it doesn't get stuck on mats etc (I also have a Werthiem which is more powerful but you cannot set the power level so it ramps up when it gets to carpet which means it just sucks up a mat and gets stuck, argh!). This unit doesn't have the fancy mapping but honestly it doesn't need it, never misses anything and always finds its way home. Mopping function is good to maintain between proper steam mops.Definitely worth buying! :)

I have a dog who sheds hair if you so much as glance in his direction. My trusty Dyson does a great job, but its a bit of a pain to drag out. So I gifted myself this little helper. Now I did purchase a basic model, and have set my expectations accordingly. Ive learned to check that cords are out of the way (after losing a couple). The app allows me to schedule cleaning times, which is handy. The base model does not automatically empty the robot. Its also a bit dumb about returning to base when the battery is low. Usually when it announces a low battery I empty the dog hair and take it back to recharge. Otherwise I have to hunt it down to find where it landed - usually under a bed or couch. It also managed to trap itself in the bathroom, which was good for some ... MoreI have a dog who sheds hair if you so much as glance in his direction. Im not game enough to try the mopping function as I dont know thats its going to accurately differentiate hard floors from carpet - I may try this out at some point, but its not a high priority.

Works well on tile and hardwood. Wouldn't recommend for carpeted areas unless it's a dense carpet, otherwise it'll struggle. It says you can use a magnetic boundary strip to prevent it from going in certain areas but this is not included in the box.It doesn't map your house, just goes back and fourth in lines which is fine for my needs. Make sure you clean the filters regularly or it gets quite loud. The mopping feature is just a water tank with a fabric pad so don't expect it to get any huge messes up. It can't tell the difference between carpet and hard flooring so make sure you have the mopping plate removed before letting it go on a carpeted area unless you're into the soggy carpet look. Take all cords and electrical items off the floor before allowing it to run ... MoreWorks well on tile and hardwood. Brilliant little device. We live in a Bungalow and our flooring is the same throughout so not many challenges for a Robot Vacuum. However, we do have 2 dogs and this has changed my week! I used to have to vacuum every day - now I just do it once a week and have this scheduled for every 2nd day. Picks up the hair, leaf debris and the usual dust and dirt with no problem at all!Easy to set up and use.I haven’t used the mop function yet, as I steam my floors, but I’m sure I will in the spring when there are a few less paw prints to deal with.Price is great for what it delivers.
This machine has been great so far. Weirdly, the setup didn't work on my phone but it did on my husband's and I think that was due to the VPN. Other than that, it has been my new best friend. It vacuums well and to date, it hasn't got caught in the tangle of dining room chair legs so it navigates well. I added water to the reservoir to check out the mopping function and I was horrified about how dirty the floors were. Unfortunately, I cannot have the mop on all the time as we have a rug on the floor. The price was really good, the app is easy to use and it is easy to set up a regular cleaning schedule. All in all I am very happy with my purchase.
When l bought this product l made it quite clear to the very curtious sales lady, that l was unable to keep up with today's technology and how hopeless l am with it all, so l'm sure you can imagine my absolute horror when l opened the product box, and saw that l was somehow supposed to attach the product to my phone before it would work. To this day, l have not been able to use the product. Even a remote control would have been better but this ridiculous system of attaching it to a phone is way over my head. It may be very easy for today's young people but it isn't easy for me. So to answer your question about how good the product is, l wouldn't know because l have not been able to find out. I was so annoyed with the fact l was sold this product that l have told all ... MoreWhen l bought this product l made it quite clear to the very curtious sales lady, that l was unable to keep up with today's technology and how hopeless l am with it all, so l'm sure you can imagine my absolute horror when l opened the product box, and saw that l was somehow supposed to attach the product to my phone before it would work. I’d read lots of reviews about robot hoovers and what attracted me was a 3 year warranty and reading the reviews. I have a furry dog and a cat and live in a rural area which means I’m constantly sweeping then hoovering the floor. This little hoover is brilliant it goes all round my downstairs and cleans up every spec! I use it every evening and I love that he takes himself back to his charging base after working hard. What shocked me the most is that I have a rough mat by my front door which is virtually impossible to hoover or keep clean yet the robot has made it look new again! Very happy customer. Worth every penny!
I have Fibromyalgia and was finding some days, weeks, difficult trying to pull a heavy vacuum cleaner around. This little machine has been a god send. I've had it for 3 weeks and have only had to bring out the big vacuum to give the rug an extra going over, just once. I set the timer on my phone, for it to start every day and away it goes. I thought the suction wouldn't be very good on it and it would miss places but I was very wrong. It also washes the floors and keeps the dust down. I don't think I'd be without it now. I struggled before I purchased it and now I'm so glad I made this purchase. It's well worth the money.
The only thing the Deebot U2 is good for is choosing a tiny section of your carpet and wearing it thin. The software programming on this thing is useless compared to my previous robot vacuum which was the cheap-as-chips but absolutely brilliant Deebot 600. Tragically, the Deebot 600 is now discontinued and unavailable in New Zealand. You would think the U2 would be superior with its strategic back-and-forth vacuuming, but no. Neither the 600 or the U2 has mapping, but the 600 works on a random pattern and this is infinitely better. My old 600 whizzes around the house going here, there and everywhere in a totally random pattern, but it always covers every last inch of my floor (our house is 132 sq metres). The U2 will mostly go back and forth and it's not even ... MoreThe only thing the Deebot U2 is good for is choosing a tiny section of your carpet and wearing it thin. Neither the 600 or the U2 has mapping, but the 600 works on a random pattern and this is infinitely better. My old 600 whizzes around the house going here, there and everywhere in a totally random pattern, but it always covers every last inch of my floor (our house is 132 sq metres). The U2 will mostly go back and forth and it's not even shifting enough on each sweep so it often ends up going back over the exact same path it has just been on.Because of the U2's fixed pattern, the U2 struggles to find its way out of a room. I have to pick it up and move it from room to room (as other reviewers have said). On the odd occasion that it does find its way through a doorway, it will stay in the new room for a while, but invariably it will wander back into the original room and start that room all over again. It will then complete the whole room again (well, part of it because it only ever does part of a room) because with its back and forth sweeping it has little chance of finding a doorway. But this isn't even the worst thing. I'm pretty sure the U2 runs the exact same pattern every time it vacuums, so it's doing the same small section every time I switch it on. In two weeks, it has NEVER been into 50% of my house (office, two bedrooms, laundry and half the hallway) of its own accord. It just completely ignores these rooms. I think if I asked a monkey to vacuum my house it would do a better job. Also, the U2 does NOT run for 110 minutes and hasn't since I started using it a couple of weeks ago. It runs for about 73 minutes (on standard suction). I'm seriously considering returning this, but atm am using it as a 'second robot' to reduce the workload for my 600. Trust me, just buy ANY OTHER MODEL. On the plus side, it has 3 suctions levels to choose from and it picks up dust as well as my old 600. I also like that it talks. I haven't used the mopping feature as I only bought it for vacuuming. I would NEVER purchase this again.
