The speakers are huge compared to by previous c2x. Coming from a 2.1 system, I can say that the bass on these speakers are not lacking and you won’t miss the c2x. I was worried at first of missing a stand-alone subwoofer, but very quickly I found that the speakers were sufficient for my computer gameplay and song listening. It also looks stunning with the wood look!

Sound quality is excellent. Plenty of power at all volumes (no clipping). Robust construction and attractive cabinet. This is my second purchase of Edifier speakers but my first in this higher end range. They sound excellent and they upgraded the speaker-to-speaker connection to use a more robust wire and connector. My only complaint is the bluetooth pairing is clunky. After unpairing, the speakers revert to non-bluetooth mode and you must physically push a button to enable re-pairing. This is not convenient. I wish the speakers would stay in bluetooth pairing mode as my other pair of Edififers do.

First, a summary of what I read elsewhere, and then a comparison with the R1280T.Consumer Reports did a recent test of home speakers under $300, and the R2000DBs topped the list because of sound quality. Other reviewers agree, but often complain about the cheap remote and flaky Bluetooth. I can attest to the cheapness of the remote, but I use a standard, RCA plug line in connection. Besides two line in and Bluetooth connections, you also get an optical connection. Edifier is good enough to provide all the cables for you. These replace a pair of Edifier R1280Ts. The R2000DBs are larger and heavier, but still fit the limited space I have for them. I wouldn't want anything larger though. These are also massive (as in weight). Even the left speaker weighs a lot. The wood color is a bit red, and obvious Vinyl over particle board, but they don't look bad, and the workmanship is well done. And the sound? I always thought the R1280T set sounded decent, but when compared to a very good system, the sound always sounded like it came from a box. Not the R2000DBs; The box sound is largely gone; the mid range is open, the trebles smooth, and the bass extends another half octave.Music lovers will never want to use the Dynamic setting. That gives you so much bass it overpowers everything else. In the corner of my room near a wall and behind the computer monitor, I have the treble turned all the way up, and the bass all the way down using the Classic setting. The amp that powers these is strong and clean enough to fill a large room without distortion. The one thing I miss from the old speakers is the location of the control knobs. They were easier to grab when they were on the side of the right speaker, instead of the rear. With the R2000DBs I do a right handed fumble to the back of the right speaker. The volume/input change knob is the first one you come across.

I am not an audiophile, but these speakers sound good to me. They are very versatile. I use them instead of my analog TV's built in speaker, and to listen to music and podcasts from my iPhone via Bluetooth. My TV's poor quality speaker used to be just annoying, but as my hearing got worse I was having trouble understanding dialog. Simple amplification did not completely solve the problem because the TV's speaker was simply not producing a full enough range of sound. With these speakers I can enjoy my TV again. They were easy to hook up and use. I also look forward to using them with a 30-year old analog turntable, but will need to get a preamp to make the speakers loud enough. They are designed to have up to two analog sources plugged in at once so you don't need to ... MoreI am not an audiophile, but these speakers sound good to me. They are very versatile. They switch from one analog input to another very simply with the remote, or to Bluetooth input. My only complaints are that the remote is so small as to be slightly awkward to handle, and that the printed and online manual are not very detailed. Online help has been excellent.
I had a very expensive digital piano that had some internal amplifier issues. It was about 20 years old and the only problem was the sound coming through the original speakers was distorted. Parts are no longer available for it according to my service technician. We did notice that when you used the headphone jack, the sound was clear. So I did some research and found great reviews on theses speakers and took a chance on ordering them so that I could hook them up to the piano's headphone jack and use them instead of the piano's internal speakers. I was a little hesitant because this piano is not your basic digital piano but back in the day cost almost $5,000 and has over 120 sounds including powerful organ and brass sounds, so the speakers needed to be something ... I was a little hesitant because this piano is not your basic digital piano but back in the day cost almost $5,000 and has over 120 sounds including powerful organ and brass sounds, so the speakers needed to be something that could handle the low bass notes and still be clear on the high notes. I am totally satisfied with the R2000DB speakers. There is no distortion with them, they have room shaking bass and are crystal clear on the high notes. I have owend CrewinVega speakers, Bose and Infinity and had never heard of Edifier, but trust me, they hold their own with these top name brands. They sounds every bit as good as or even better than the original speakers on the piano. I couldn't be happier. For just over $200, I am able to continue to use my piano and hopefully for many more years to come. Whether you're using these as I did or if you're getting them for a bookshelf system or to hook up to your home entertainment system, I would say you will be very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the finsh and especially the awesome sound!!
Spotless quality beyond expectation. Love this brand. Second pair I own. Top notch.
Almost studio quality monitors!!! Great sound for computers. Simple installation, immediate bluetooth connectivity and crank up your best tunes! These speakers actually replaced my Bose computer speakers and I'm glad I chose Edifier. 5 stars PLUS!
These are very excellent speakers, I use them on a Desktop gaming setup. I also have them hooked to a record player, and Bluetooth them to my iPad. My next purchase is going to be the subwoofer for that little extra bass. I highly recommend these speakers for any small/medium sized bonus room type setup. I added speaker stands to save room on my cluttered desk.
I am not a paid reviewer / in fact I almost never post anything, much less a product review. However, I have enjoyed these speakers so much in the short period of time that I’ve had them that I wanted to share my experience. For the money, these are hands down an excellent value. They sit in my office on my desk and throughout the day serve as admirable computer speakers (voice mail, Zoom meeting, alerts, internet, etc.). However, at night or over the weekend, these speakers fill that space with phenomenal sound. The bass is NOT an issue. If you disagree, by a comparable sub-woofer and scare your neighbors. Money well spent!
packaged like new, can not tell the difference between a new one and this refurbished. Came in original boxe with a small sticker written ''refurbished'' on it. Fast delivery, took 2 days. Very good price. The product look like new and work like new one
