Ego 38cm Powerload Line Trimmer Skin

Wow. What an awesome trimmer. We live on a lifestyle block and have only used petrol trimmers until today. Plenty of grunt on tap with this beast. Totally impressed. Long grass did not wrap around the head and choke it. Nicely balanced. Looks like I can move on from decades of petrol refuelling and trimmer starting issues. Will replace the petrol lawn mower now after this experience.

Battery lasts long!

Bought this after reading the reviews, definitely worth every cent! My lawn was pretty long and it got through it all without any hassle. Battery lasted about 1 hour.

Beware for those who dont know what skin means

My darling fiance purchased this not knowing that skin means comes without battery and was not happy realising she just spent $400 for a line trimmer that wont work until we purchase the battery and charger for it. I can agree with her that mitre 10 could have put on the description a pre warning for those who are new to electric tools as to skins not coming with a battery and a suggestion to purchase the kit instead if required.... and she read the 2 reviews that were available and had nothing but great things to say so she assumed it was everything she needed.This was purchased online so im sure had we gone in to buy we would have been advised of this. But still the website could still do with some better guidance.

Bump head doesn't work

Same problem. Bump head doesn't work. Eventually, with great difficulty, disassembled, inserted line. It last for about two minutes. Just the worst. Only used twice. Couldn't find receipt, otherwise I'd return it.

Does everything for you - Magic

Never used one before. I’m 61 years of age and always paid someone to do my lawns. This is lightweight and powerful and made me realise what a poor job I was paying people to do. Love the Ego products. Well worth the spend. Automatic everything. Absolutely fantastic.

New Powerload technology???

2 months old and the bump feeder has never worked. Eventually the line was too short. Tried to replace the line with the wonderful new Powerload technology and it doesnt work either. Have been told it is faulty. The worst news is that EGO does not replace its faulty appliances and it has to be sent away for weeks! Just when I need to clear a new section.My EGO mower and blower are great.

Top quality weed eater

This is a fantastic weed eater. Light, powerful, easy to load the line. The 2.5aH battery lasts about an hour (imaging how long the 7.5 would last) so its everything you need even for a largish section.Best of all no noise or smell of petrol motor and no mucking about with petrol and oil mixing. So easy, I actually enjoy using it!! Never been able to say that before.

This is just about as effective as my petrol STIHL without the hassle of a petrol engine. The self feeder to wind on the cord is great. Very happy to recommend.

Without the power load this would be great

Since new, I have used this strimmer for 6 hours strimming and its spent over 6 weeks in the workshop being fixed. The powerhead refuses to load the cord which renders the unit useless and then it has to be sent off for repair. You can't manually load the cord. After buying the most expensive electric unit on the market I have had to buy a backup strimmer to keep the weeds under control - I am using the Royobi One 18V Strimmer which has performed very well for a light unit and only 1/3 of the cost!
