This is my second ego product and I’m extremely happy with it. I first bought the trimmer with the 2.5 battery and love it. I then went ahead and bought the blower with the same battery 2.5. I followed all the instructions and noticed that the blower battery seemed much less time efficient than the other battery. I swap the batteries out and used both of them with the trimmer on several occasions and the battery that came with the blower last half his long. It also sometimes won’t work at all. I have ruled out that the charger is not the problem because I’ve tried both chargers. Im relatively tech savvy especially with electronics. Now I basically just use the battery from the trimmer for both the trimmer and blower. I have the blower and recently got the string trimmer, both of which use the 2.5 Amp Hour battery. Works amazingly well on both. The power I get with the time to trim my entire property, as well as blow off my clippings and mower is well worth the money. EGO brand is THE BEST electric trimmer and mower, and their batteries are a huge reason why!! Best Battery for my residential power equipment!!

I purchased this setup back in September 2020 and maybe used 5 times before winter season kicked in. Could use the 2.5amp battery for my EGO push mower as well as my string trimmer and still be in the green of battery life. It's worth noting that my lawn is small and takes about 20 minutes or less to mow.Now that we are in a new season, I cannot mow my lawn for more than 15 minutes without the battery dying. Called customer support to describe my issue and was told that this battery is not supposed to be used with the mower. If you look at any battery description on EGO's website it clearly says the batteries work with any lawn product. This product has been used less than 15 times in total and I'm ready to switch my system to something else. I loved my blower and string trimmer since I bought them on 04 / 11 / 20. However, the battery has now started to fail (wont run for more than 3 seconds even though it is fully charged). Since I am 8 months out of warranty, EGO customer support said I had not option except to buy a new battery. At almost $200 (after tax) every three years, I might as well get a gas powered unit and just replace the whole thing every 3 years instead. It just doesn't make sense financially to use this brand for me.
I like the flexibility of a cordless blower. However, the battery is pretty heavy and my shoulders/elbows bother me using it. It runs roughly 30 minutes on a charge unless turbo charge, then about 20 minutes. It takes 50 minutes to recharge. Purchased another battery and it cost almost as much as the entire unit, battery and charger.
This might be a battery best suited for tools that don't require a ton of power to muscle through jobs like cutting. I got this 2.5 Ah battery with my new edger and gave it a full charge before using it to edge my driveway for the first time this spring. I barely got one side of our 50-foot driveway edged when the battery ran out and I couldn't go back over some spots for a cleaner edge. There wasn't a great deal of overgrowth, so I was surprised that the battery died so quickly. I have a 7.5 Ah battery for my Ego Select Cut mower, but that does add a lot of weight to the tool. I'm getting ready to purchase an Ego chain saw and now I have some doubts about runtime with the 2.5 Ah battery under rigorous cutting. This battery gave me a lot of trouble, it always shuts off with overheating, doesnt charge right away and cuts off on charging due to red light. Probably overheating. EGO said i had 5 years warranty on the battery when i had bought it. But its not possible to raise a ticket. You have to call them and its complicated as they don’t make it easy for you.
I made the mistake of buying this battery five weeks ago. Today after a full charge, it lasted five minutes and died in my weed eater. I took it to Lowe’s with my brand new receipt and they refused to exchange it. I was instantly dismissed by the rude female who refused to answer any questions.Lowe’s clearly does NOT stand behind its products. I spent $20,000 in upgrades to my office this last year, all in high grade appliances and other things from Lowe’s. I was about to do the same for my two dozen employees, but not after today. They don’t want or need your business.

It fit just fine but supplied 1/2 the power of the old one. I now have to recharge it halfway though the mowing, which is not a huge problem but an inconvenience. The fact that it is light-weight and can be removed from the charger and carried easily in one hand somewhat makes up for this. My old one had to be removed with both hands and my feet positioned next to the charger to hold it down. This is unnecessary with the new one. It fits just fine on the mower. I had asked about the size when I picked it up.
