Improving on the B6 - a speaker with accolades from the global press and awards from industry professionals - was not an easy task. But constant improvement is what ELAC does, and the Debut B6.2 raises the bar for bookshelf performance higher than ever before. Its silk-dome tweeter features a wide-roll surround and takes response up to 35,000 Hz for even more lifelike high frequencies. The waveguide improves directivity control and eliminates the diffraction modes inherent in traditional box enclosures. The revised shape of the aramid cone offers even greater stiffness and damping, far superior to polypropylene or paper. The added strength allows more flexibility in design to achieve a smoother, extended low-frequency response.

I am used to listening to KEF Q300 paired with a Marantz PM5005 and FiiO M9 DAP. This setup sounds quite good, however the male vocals sounded a bit lean. Bought these ELACs with the expectation of fixing that and it does. The ELAC has fuller bass and male vocals sound nice now. Also the ELAC even if bright enough, does not fatigue my ears easily, probably because the upper midrange is not overdone and the tweeter is soft dome.Overall good speakers for the price sounding close to a HD650 headphone.Purchasing and delivery experience was very good, no hassles.

Part of a 5.1 setup with all ELAC D2 62 except for the sub [Klipsch for $160 at Costco hard to beat]. Towers in front A 62 center and 62 bookshelves for surroundSound is fairly the same tonally across/around the listening space. Tone is a little bit 'tubby' But I have done no optimization or run [Denon AVR1400] Audessy yet. Imaging is sometoimes astounding and sometimes not but I believe it's the source material. Because of these speakers I have found the the DD/+ varies a lot whether using a HiSense Roku TV vs a Sony BluRay as the streaming device For the price[s]; hard to beat occasionally astounding sounding and not sure if I work harder at it that it can't be always very good.

Replaced a twenty year old Onkyo packaged 5 channel system seldom used and with surrounds not mounted. Was looking to update system to work with earc enabled tv. First new budget AV receiver purchased then speaker(s) on a budget research. YouTube and Reddit steered me toward the Elac. Elated to stumble onto the Music Room. The speakers were packed securely and protectively for shipping. Since arrival I have yet to find the chips/dents from the online speaker description - honesty and integrity. Currently running a strait 2.0 setup for tv, apple streaming and cd's on a DVD player and the speakers are powerful with clear speech. I've gone down the rabbit hole for too much information and am paralyzed between a sub or center (returned one already). I recently gave a friend a used receiver that I had replaced. She wanted speakers to go with the Yamaha that I had given her. We decided to try the ELAC 2.0 B6.2 bookshelf speakers. Wow! They sound great! At this price point, I can’t imagine beating them! They actually matched the receiver better than the much more expensive JBLs that I have in my system.
These speakers were initially cheaper on Amazon, but I needed some advice, so came to Richer Sounds. Alan was very helpful, and also beat Amazon’s price, and provided everything I needed for the speakers. Including free, and very fast, delivery. Speakers themselves sound excellent. Top marks, will be back again soon!
I bought these speakers to replace my 6Y old Polk M30 but decided to compare them to my 22Y old Mordaunt-Short MS207 floorstanding 3way speakers since the $80 Polk can’t be in this game . So here it is- Speakers are built very well with high quality materials and heavy speakers. Sound is great, soft and natural. To my test the high are little too sharp and metallic. The speakers really open up at relatively higher volume than expected from 87db sensitivity speaker. I used Arcam alpha 9 CD and Amp with directional audio-quest cables ( RCA and speakers) . The MS207 are detailed and spatial with rich sound, the deep and tight bass and soft highs with exceptional natural sound allows you to listen for hours w/o getting tired. I can't say the same about the Elac Debut ... MoreI bought these speakers to replace my 6Y old Polk M30 but decided to compare them to my 22Y old Mordaunt-Short MS207 floorstanding 3way speakers since the $80 Polk can’t be in this game . I can't say the same about the Elac Debut 2.0 DB6.2. However, I'm also not comparing apples to apples, the Elac are just different and I’m sure some will love those over the MS207 which is a typical British soft natural sound. I would say that the Elac are quality speakers with good sound for most part and are detailed enough with decent bass for the size. I would give two thumbs up for $$ per value !! also thanks to Music Direct for excellent price, service and fast shipping and communication. I gave 4 stars because of the metallic high and sensitivity requires higher volume.
I have listened to Vandersteen 2ce's for 20 y but after I moved into a smaller listening room, they were just too large in dimensions and sound. I needed something I could put near a wall and Elac seems to be one of the few makers that actually design speakers that don't have to be 3' from the wall. After 2 months I am completely pleased by these speakers, most especially with their clarity or transparency. Solo guitar or piano or singers are clear and present. They are especially good at "sorting out" choral groups that previously were just masses of sound. Maybe not the last word in low frequency fullness but plenty adequate for me. How can such inexpensive speakers sound so excellent? A true bargain. I would buy them again.
I went from a pair of slightly larger no-name speakers down to these. The improvement in clarity in the high frequencies and upper-mids was stark. These speakers provide a very nicely detailed and well articulated sound. Previously when watching movies I would have trouble understanding speech during the loud parts. With these speakers that problem is completely gone and everything is crystal clear. The only issue is that I lost a good deal of low end going to smaller speakers and ended up needing to add a subwoofer. While I think that is to be expected when going to smaller speakers, I do think these speakers might be a little noticably lacking in that regard. These speakers are *not* going to crank out bass. With the subwoofer, however, the sound system is absolutely perfect and I've been listening to my LP's more than ever because I enjoy the sound so much. If you are pairing these with a subwoofer then the rating would be an instant five stars.
Bought these a few weeks ago, paired with a Marantz CD6007 and an older Sony hi-fi (not AV) amp with reasonable OFC speaker cable. These speakers are still running in, but I'm already very pleased with the improvement in sound. Clear detailed sound across the range, and warm mids and trebles. Improved bass especially considering this is a standmount. Very nice for vocal music (Bach/Schubert), I don't play these very loud and the sound is nevertheless good at relatively low volumes. Probably even better if you have scope to crank them up a bit.Liking the front ported design as I have to have these on shelves close to a wall. I expect they'd sound slightly better on stands or positioned better. They sit well on the shelves. They came in strong protective packaging too. It'd be interesting to compare these with the Q Accoustics 3030i's for sound (I have'nt been able to), but the ELAC's are a better fit for my room.
Purchase August 2024 Elac Debut B6.2.After looking at speakers to match my Denon DM41, was looking at these, but also directed by the Southampton Store, as one of the best 2 in my list of 4.Using a mix of my music choice, ranging from instrumental, vocal, Jazz funk, D & B, R & B. Using the stores Denon DM41, then went through the my music check/test. Level 42 Heathrow for a clarity point, this worked well, then moved to Yebba, for a vocal check, again the unit pulled out some low hidden traits, that only heard on a pair of Mordaunt Shorts previously. Then just ran through the rest to pic ot certain tracks, Jorga Smith - Blue lights.Ultimately, we all listen differently, music, how we set up the systems. Also i'm not a computer so unable to pick up the nuances ... MorePurchase August 2024 Elac Debut B6.2.After looking at speakers to match my Denon DM41, was looking at these, but also directed by the Southampton Store, as one of the best 2 in my list of 4.Using a mix of my music choice, ranging from instrumental, vocal, Jazz funk, D & B, R & B.
