‘Ive had three units that have been covered under warranty but the metal vibration with changing brush heads makes the unit eventually break off and it renders it completely useless with no vibration. They need to fix this fault that happens within a year of use with the higher price tags. It’s adding to waste and they need greener head solutions than plastic. It broke when I was in Zurich and the people I stayed with had broken Philips electric toothbrush handles as well. Having issues with getting a replacement as I left broken handle in Zurich. If it can’t be replaced I will be upgrading and researching a better alternative.

I have been using this tooth brush for over 10 years. However, they all ended up with loud noise and no vibration (I do take care of things all the time). The worst thing is they all happened after the 2 year warranty period. So no replacement. I had to purchase a new one every time. This time they offered a 30% off voucher which can only be used on Philips website. Sometimes you'd get that offer in other stores for promotions, so it is not really a solution as they claim. I am considering moving back to old school toothbrush as it is quite expensive to use this toothbrush if it breaks every 2-3 years.

We have had several Sonicare devices and all have suffered from the same design defect. After about a year and a half of use, the buttons require more and more physical force to press until the handle is no longer usable without super-human strength. Philips was good about replacing our last handle but eventually the replacement failed as well in the same manner. Perhaps the button seals cannot survive the saliva over time. Our last charger failed when water spilled on the counter and touched the charger (our fault). I would recommend placing your charger on a trivet or ceramic coaster so that does not happen to your product, but the charger should be better sealed by Philips as well.

Effective as its claim!
2 June 2023

I have been using another brand of electronic toothbrush but have been considering switching due to a few factors. Recently, I came across a free test for Philips toothbrush and decided to give it a try. Initially, I was hopeful about its claims, but on the first day of use, I was somewhat disappointed as it didn't seem much different from my old toothbrush. I continued to use the product and observed some positive changes after 3 days. I noticed a significant improvement in removing plaque between my teeth. It was impressive to see the plaque easily come off with gentle flossing. This is a notable advantage over my current toothbrush. The handle of the toothbrush is quite smooth, which makes it a bit difficult to grip firmly. Game Changer !
17 January 2023

The Phillips Sonicare 9000 series Power Toothbrush is a game changer !I have used electric toothbrush’s in the past but always reverted back to manual. This honestly blows every toothbrush (manual & electric) out the water. My teeth have never felt so clean. I can’t stop running my tongue over them. I have also noticed the whitening effect already. I have also been bothered with bleeding gums for the past few months & after a few days with this toothbrush there was no more bleeding despite my gum line being so clean. These soft , flexible bristles are so easy and smooth on my teeth and gums, they also get in places that normal toothbrushes can't get to , which is amazing and my teeth literally feel Boujee! ! It also helps remove up to 10x more plaque! It has built in smart sensors that let you know when your using too much pressure, and the brushsync automatically selects the best mode for you ! It has several different modes to choose from , my personal favorite is the whitening mode , I can already tell a major difference in the color of my teeth with just a few uses ! It has a lower setting for people who have more sensitive teeth/gums as well , which is really convenient and nice to have ! The Sonicare app is amazing , it's personalized to your settings and keeps track of how you have improved over time , and makes brushing your teeth such an amazing part of the day and I actually enjoy it instead of dreading it ! The battery lasts forever when charged ! It lasts up to 2 weeks on a single charge , another thing I love about it! The brushsync does remimd you when it's time to replace the tip , overall this is everything and more that anyone could want or need in a toothbrush! It's better than going to a dentist to get a cleaning , this toothbrush literally does it all and more! Highly exceeded my expectations by far! Well worth every penny ! Doesn't disappoint!

Great toothbrush, would prefer cheaper + no extras
5 February 2023

The Sonicare is an excellent toothbrush, and that is evident in the condition of my teeth since I've used one. This is my second Sonicare, as I accidentally broke my previous one.* I like the new recharging case with the in-built USB cable and connection.* I don't like that they have changed the timer to 6 zones - I much prefer the 4 zones of the previous version. I now completely ignore the timer, which is disappointing.* I wish I could have bought a cheaper one that didn't come with compatibility with the app. The app is a gimmick, a waste of time - it requires you to "wake up" your toothbrush and have it near your phone to synch. I don't generally take my phone into the bathroom, so this requires deliberate effort, all for an app that just states the ... MoreThe Sonicare is an excellent toothbrush, and that is evident in the condition of my teeth since I've used one. I don't generally take my phone into the bathroom, so this requires deliberate effort, all for an app that just states the obvious. I quit doing that after a couple of days.* I wish it came with toothbrush heads - my previous one (which I bought 3 years ago) came with one normal toothbrush head, and one mini toothbrush head. This new one came with none.* I don't use any of the settings other than the first one (Clean), so it would be good if they made a cheaper version without all the other options. But, as a toothbrush, it is an excellent product.

Not worth your money
2 April 2023

I have used Sonicare for over 25 years. The first one lasted me about 10 years until I can't no longer buy the original brush heads. However, the quality of Sonicare toothbrush has diminished to the point where I almost switched to Oral B. I had four DiamondCare promptly stopped working within or right after the warranty period. Based on my experience of having owned various models over the years (including the air/water flossers) - save your money and buy the basic model. They do a great job, doesn't burn a hole in your wallet, and is much more reliable. And if it dies within a year, it doesn't cost you $500!! In addition, I found Phillip's aftercare customer service is quite hopeless, so if your $$$ unit broke after warranty, you will have to buy a new one. I don't see the value in their newer models with WIFI connectivity etc. The more of the bells and whistles, the easier they break. I would skip it and just use the cheapest model you can get. They do a great job, keep your dental visit to a minimum, and more value for your money.

Product gets extremly difficult to turn on over ti
20 March 2024

I have had at least three Sonicare Diamond Clean handles that you have to press extremely hard on the On button to get it to turn on. This condition develops over time until you eventually throw it out. The latest ones I bought from Costco as a two pack it was the 9000 series with the Bluetooth app. I think it is their top of the line unit. Well I have a black and a white handle units in my two pack.I just looked at the app and I synced up 126 days ago. You have to have your phone near the device to sync, so it isn't very useful. The app must be a gimmick. Everybody has some kind of app now a days. Well the black handle brush is getting extremely difficult to turn on. Shame on Philips
2 January 2024

I have bought this set in 2021, and now both toothbrushes are out of order. Firstly, I was unpleasantly surprised that none of the previous Philips Sonicare charges fit, they required a socket adapter. I had also to buy a travel etui with a charger separately for £30. After a year the second (function) button has stopped working on both toothbrushes, and now they are both not working - they have started turning on unexpectedly at night (while not being charged, just resting on a bathroom shelf), waking up the household. Afterwards - both went dead while in use. A disgrace, a shame on Philips going the pathetic marketing route producing items that are not intended to last and have to be replaced after barely 2 years.
