I Love the drag and drop loop. Very easy to navigate and the Tempo adjustments give this machine a must to have. I love it with my play and pay service from AMC is a blessing.

Great looper pedal except for midi sync issue
24 February 2021

Really good looper. Typically I'm hesitant to use non try bypass pedals but the buffered bypass does not affect the tone too much. Reasons I bought the pedal are the separate stop button (coming from a one button looper) and the Midi sync. I want to be able to start and stop loops from Cubase to be able to quickly record ideas/tunes. I'm able to get starts/stop commands from my daw to the pedal via Midi however the result is very warbly (midi jitter?). I contacted EXH and they responded this is a known issue that should be resolved in a future firmware update (no timeframe provided). A feature I really like is "fade" where you can set multiple length fade endings which come into effect after pressing the stop button, a much more musical way then stopping abruptly! ... MoreReally good looper. The memory slots are handy too. Overall good sounding pedal with nice useful features. I'm just frustrated that the Midi sync does not work well yet.

Review of Electro Harmonix 1440 Stereo Looper Pedal
6 December 2020

If you're looking for a performance looper and don't need dual tracks, this is worth a serious look. I bought it over the 720 because of the feedback knob but it is not a perfect pedal. The mode knob failed within 5 minutes (I'm using the knurled metal knob directly). I've had an odd clipping sound appear now and then which I'm currently going to put down to user error. Currently. It's WAY easier to use the effects than on the DittoX2 but the Ditto can go louder (I've 4 loopers on my board so have checked for you!) but the balance-bility between loop and input is good. I decided to keep because the quirks of the pedal create opportunities. It needs velcro-ing down as the rubber feet are a little high so can tip over if you don't hit the switches directly. I decided to keep because the quirks of the pedal create opportunities. It needs velcro-ing down as the rubber feet are a little high so can tip over if you don't hit the switches directly. The switches, incidentally, are totally silent (quieter than the Ditto) and the case itself is so small. The selectable fade out times are great too. If you can side by side this with other pedals, I would recommend you do that. It's a good pedal but as with all loopers that have additional features, whether it works for you is a personal choice.

Unique combination of features but also some flaws
9 January 2021

Craftsmanship: The usual EHX tank-like build quality, but the small illuminated buttons feel flimsy and unstable. This is a downgrade from the larger illuminated buttons found in the other EHX loopers. The display screen and the push encoder feel solid and good quality.Sound: Sound is excellent.Operation: Basic looping is great, you just need to get used to the overdub triggering on switch release. MIDI sync works, but it needs some work. Some combinations of settings work perfectly. Some cause sound glitches. Record start on the first measure only is unwieldy, especially when closing loops. The effects are great but the way they work seems counter-intuitive to me.Features: As far as I know, 1440's combination of features is unique. The effects are great but the way they work seems counter-intuitive to me.Features: As far as I know, 1440's combination of features is unique. Some of the main selling points for me were MIDI sync, loop decay and the ability to store loops - no other looper can do all three in this price range, you need to spend over double the money if you want all that in one device (even the new BOSS loopers don't have decay function). There are of course more features than that, including an app for easy file transfer to and from your PC. If it had a rhythm option it would be great, but I don't think EHX ever did that in any of their loopers.Price/Performance: As said already, if you want this specific feature set there is nothing else anywhere near this price. If you don't care about this exact combination of features it is still a good price for a looper that goes beyond the basics.
