It is what it says it is. It's a slap-back echo. Super easy and simple to use. It doesn't stand in the way of the player in the action, with too much options and bells&whistles...It does change the EQ a bit, toward a darker (it seems like a slight treble roll-off) tone so one should keep that in mind.

The EHX slap back is great for doing what is says ,a quick one repeat delay.The shortest time setting is great for thickening your sound and the other two time settings getting that rockabilly sound .I would call it simple rather than versatile but the boost is handy.It does however colour you sound with more mids which I don't mind but might be annoying for some.Great if your amp is too bright though.

Great delay sounds for country, rockabilly and even Jimmy Page Zep styles.
Needed to replace a DOD DFX9 that I used mainly for that Rock-a-Billy type echo. This one doesn't quite pull off that rootsy slap back echo I was looking for. But, when playing clean, it adds a lot of shine to a solo. Fortunately for me its smaller profile allows me to use both delay pedals on my board.My only concern is the three way toggle switch. It is a pretty small switch. Hope it's sturdy enough to hold up on a stomp box. Otherwise I would have given it five stars.
Sounds dark and muddy. Tried it with the supplied PSU and my pedalboard PSU - sounded just as bad. Really disappointed with this pedal. all the high end disappears when this pedal is on. it would be excellent value for money if it produced a clear tone.
