I have this unit set up in my classroom which has been a god-send with the recent humidity. My students let out a big sigh of relief when stepping in to the room, as the air con zaps all of the mugginess from the air. It does take at least an hour for the whole classroom to cool, but given the size of the space and that students are always coming in and out, it’s not a problem. The swing function helps to evenly distribute the cool air, however. The remote is handy for controlling the unit, but it seems you must be fairly close to it to respond. The wheels make it easy to manoeuvre. Its design is sleek and modern, and installation was straight-forward. Noise has not been noticeable. Our son who has had seizures since a brain injury at 2 won this amazing unit. We are so surprised how well it cooled his room and its easy installation.

I bought this yesterday from Bing Lee. I’m going back today to buy a second one. And No. it’s not noisy. Every AC makes some noise and compared to other brands I’ve had this is on the quieter side. I saw Canstar rated Electrolux the top portable AC brand so it was an easy choice to make and a great price for my budget.

Good for price. Cools the room and well. Advertised as discrete noise level and whisper quiet. This is not true, so loud it feels like you're on a plane ready for take off. Puts you off turning it on. I would look for a quieter one next time.
Bought two of these units yesterday to cool two bedrooms. Two problems. 1. I'm waiting to hear back from Electrolux about this one - surely it wasn't designed this way: In cool mode, you are supposed to be able to choose the fan speed, but if I choose slow, after a few minutes it just decides to heck with it I'm going to switch to high speed. Which is pretty loud (and anyone who says the noise is discreet or a whisper or whatever needs their hearing checked). So yeah too bad if you want to be able to sleep and be cool at the same time. 2. In auto mode, you can't choose the fan speed. Really Electrolux? So maybe you need earplugs to get to sleep when you are using it night, maybe you don't. The little computer chip inside it decides for you.
