After looking at a lot of heat pump dryers , including the more expensive brands, we settled on the 9kg UltimateCare 900 heat pump dryer with 3D Sense. The reviews were excellent and it came up on some forums as a winner. We can’t fault it. Dries well, no tangled sheets, clothes etc. We live in the hills and always had to time the washing for the weekend with either sunny weather or the central heating blaring to get everything dry( there are months when neither of those conditions are possible) If we didn’t time it right, & the drying time took too long, everything would smell like old cheese. Now we wash, when we want, use the dryer and Voila! It’s all done. Weekends are now washing free - It has simply changed my life. Having had many different standard tumble dryers over the years I was ready for a change. I wanted something that was more efficient and using modern technology.I had previously purchased the matching front load washing machine and as that experience had been good I had no hesitation in ordering the heat pump dryer.Could not fault Appliances online, ordered about 9pm and was delivered by 8am the next day. This dryer is incredible. no more moisture in the air. the removed water is either sent to a collection tank or with a 5 minute install connected to the laundry tub using the included discharge kit.I would strongly recommend the discharge kit be installed as I was surprised at how much water is removed during the drying process. There is a phone App available to ... MoreHaving had many different standard tumble dryers over the years I was ready for a change. First time buying a heat pump dryer and I was wary with the lack of exhaust and length of time to dry reviews of other brands. That being said I've had this dryer 3+ weeks now and I am super impressed. We store this in our garage on an Electrolux drawer we purchased separately from AO.It takes a large load of mixed clothes, towels or bedsheets and it always recalibrates dry time to the load we put in based on our settings. We are in a new development area so outdoor drying is not an option unless we want orange muddy coloured clothes from the exposed dirt the wind sends everywhere. We were also tired of clothes racks everywhere so bit the bullet and purchased the EDH903BEWA.We didn't bring our old exhaust dryer with us as we didn't want to cut holes in the ... MoreFirst time buying a heat pump dryer and I was wary with the lack of exhaust and length of time to dry reviews of other brands. Bought Sept 2020, Im happy with the heat pump dryer, it does take longer to dry compared to my old vented dryer but it is more cost effective to run (I also put a dry clean towel in my dryer to help the towel soak up moisture and dry items faster). I manually empty the water container and clean the lint filter after every use. There is also another lint section in the bottow left of the dryer, where i use a paint brush, tweezers and vacuum cleaner to remove the lint and make the dryer work efficiently.Today Ive been researching to purchase an electrolux washing machine to go with my electrolux dryer. So far I have not found an electrolux machine that is 665mm in depth that would fit the dryer on top, Food for thought if you plan to stack a dryer on top of a ... MoreBought Sept 2020, Im happy with the heat pump dryer, it does take longer to dry compared to my old vented dryer but it is more cost effective to run (I also put a dry clean towel in my dryer to help the towel soak up moisture and dry items faster). Dryer is fabulous. Works just as the instructions say it will. Have not tried the wifi capability yet but great idea for busy families and crazy schedules. Machine drys well, judges dampness of clothing and adjusts drying time accordingly. Very smart!Massive interior, holds large load of wet washing and then some. Love Electrolux. Would recommend.
Brilliant product. I did a load of research on many driers before purchasing this heat pump drier. After reading many mixed reviews and the instructions I felt that testing the water hardness and changing the setting accordingly was integral to the performance of the drier. I did this and have been absolutely wrapped in the performance. Every item, in all loads has been perfectly dry. No tangled bedding. Energy efficient. I have solar power and when using the drier during a partly cloudy day the app showed no power usage. Highly recommended. The guys who delivered and installed it were brilliant too.
Have been using the Electrolux Ultimate since I got it and it has been very simple to operate. I have used the 'mixed' setting for everyday clothes and facecloths etc it takes a bit longer but nothing seems to have shrunk. My clothes have been coming out dry and the timer countdown is very handy and it automatically stops when it senses the clothes are dry which is great. The 9kg drum is very large, I have an 8kg washer so heaps of room for a full load and covers. Being a heat pump theres no hot humid air unlike a vented one- good for my laundry room. My dryer is close to my tub so was able to plug in the hose attachment so the water drains out by itself. The manual said that this water is purified and fine to use in irons and steamers. I tried it in my steam ... MoreHave been using the Electrolux Ultimate since I got it and it has been very simple to operate. Overall a great dryer and I would recommend.
I decided to upgrade from a condenser drier having seen how energy efficient the heat pump driers could be. This model had great reviews and I bought it from the legendary Appliances Online for a great price (as usual!). It works well but like most modern driers you need to select an option to actually get things properly dry. Do people really want everything to come out of their drier damp? The reversing action means that large items like sheets dry well and the delicate setting allows me to dry things that wouldn't go into a normal drier. My one issue is how much heat this dryer releases into the laundry. My previous condenser drier (Bosch) stayed cool on the outside. This one gets so hot on the exterior that I either need to open the window or turn on the ... MoreI decided to upgrade from a condenser drier having seen how energy efficient the heat pump driers could be. My previous condenser drier (Bosch) stayed cool on the outside. This one gets so hot on the exterior that I either need to open the window or turn on the overhead fan (which considerably reduces the benefits of an energy efficient dryer). I thought the whole point of a heat pump was to recirculate the heat back through the clothes. It would certainly be unsuitable for small apartments in warm and temperate climates where it would make things unbearably hot.
Our old (vented) dryer gave up and we couldn’t believe the variety of dryers that were available (along with the huge cost variance)!!After researching and asking many friends what they used, we decided to take the plunge and purchased the Electrolux 9kg Heat Pump.We really only used the old dryer when we needed something to dry quickly or to get the final dampness out of clothes in the winter time (we live in QLD, so we are pretty lucky with the heat/weather for most of the year).Lots of reviews (on heat pumps) mentioned that the clothes didn’t seem dry at the end of the cycle so I was expecting that I would need to play around until I worked out what was required, but the Electrolux has a simple time extender that you press at the beginning of the cycle and ... MoreOur old (vented) dryer gave up and we couldn’t believe the variety of dryers that were available (along with the huge cost variance)!!After researching and asking many friends what they used, we decided to take the plunge and purchased the Electrolux 9kg Heat Pump.We really only used the old dryer when we needed something to dry quickly or to get the final dampness out of clothes in the winter time (we live in QLD, so we are pretty lucky with the heat/weather for most of the year).Lots of reviews (on heat pumps) mentioned that the clothes didn’t seem dry at the end of the cycle so I was expecting that I would need to play around until I worked out what was required, but the Electrolux has a simple time extender that you press at the beginning of the cycle and I’ve found this does the job perfectly. Its quiet, easy to use and I love the fact that you don’t walk into the room and feel the moisture/heat that our old vented dryer pushed out. The low cost of running the new dryer means that I’ve been a little lazy of late and have used the dryer instead of the clothes line without any guilt.I would recommend this dryer if your budget accommodated it!!And appliances online have the quickest and friendliest service - they never disappoint!!!
