We bought this for our Mini Bear Grylls wannabe. Seems to need a bit of practice to use but we got sparks happening and a fire going in the end. Hard for kids to use (but that might be good thing!). Nice bright colour. Good price.

Bought this recently for Christmas camping and it’s great for its price. You just absolutely need to carefully scrap off the black anti-rust coating first with the provided steel striker, then you’re ready to go. I’d prefer a longer steel striker to work with, but what you get for the price is adequate and you can always use the back of your knife in a pinch.
Genuinely helpful in a dire situation, essentially a good product to keep as part of a small or larger safety kit. Personally I keep one in my backpack and one in a larger with my other gear.Certainly good quality, I tested it as soon as I could.
Easy to use, cheap option and great if matches run out or get wet. I have it tied to my back door of the car for camp trips.Very handy
Black coating makes 'first use' difficult. Needs to be used quite aggressively, even to light very dry tinder. It may last up to 1000 strikes but you will use most of them lighting your first fire. I would recommend using magnesium shavings to make fire starting easier.
Has proven to work each time I've required it. Provides enough spark to set the leaves under the kindle alight
I bought three of these to give them a go. Each one only lasted for about 50-150 strikes (advertised for up to 1000!). For beginners they are really hard to use and to get use to. The product also doesn't state that you need more then one spark to light the tinder, it also doesn't mention about "optimal" weather conditions to use the lighter.
Bought to show my kids how to make fire. It does what its menat to, not the best but it works and does the job. Well worth it for the money if your going camping. If you might need it for survival then there are other better products.
