If Iām wanting some āmeā time then Iāll use the same process of warming a scoop of product in between my hands and smoothing it over my face and neck then Iāll lie in the bath or on the bed for twenty minutes, leaving the balm on before I wash it off. I simply do love this balm. I love the texture and the smell is simply divine. This one smells like freshly cut grass and summer days when I didnāt have kids or bills!! Carefree. Iāve tired the neroli and the rose variants and I must be truthful and say that my favourite is the original version - I love the essential oils - gives me more of a spa experience but this one is gorgeous too.Iāve two daughters aged 21 and 18 and Iāve converted both of them use this cleanser. They both suffer with eczema and have had many years of steroid use. This cleanser is strong enough to remove make up and general dirt but gentle enough not to irritate their skin which is a win win for everyone.My 18 year old is in her third year training as an MUA. During covid, all the practical and topical applications had to be on herself as they were not allowed to use models. I was very worried about her having to use so much product on her skin and washing it all off so frequently, I was so concerned that it would exacerbate her condition, I bought her a small pot of cleansing balm to add to her kit - her college pals LOVE it! I would say itās well worth the investment & would go so far as to say Elemis has transformed my skin for the better, the brand got me interested in skin care which I was āmehā on before, could never really be bothered & was happy to use a wipe and a cheap cream, which is fine sometimes donāt get me wrong but everyone deserves a pamper at least every now & again! Iām acne prone with combination skin & their products are great for me. Now on to how I use this & why I recommend it. I personally use this daily (or I would say days when Iām out and about or Iāve used makeup) as I would say definitely not to over cleanse or go overboard on the skin if youāre just chilling at home, I will leave my skin for a day or two if Iām not really going anywhere. I use it as the first product in a double cleanse or on its own if my skin isnāt that dirty, a little goes a long way, I use this on my face & down onto my neck & chest. I would always advise to leave this on the skin for 10 minutes or so or even a bit longer if you can before washing as itās so nourishing that it gives your skin a nice treatment but I will use this if Iām short on time too. I then wet it & rinse off with the cloth. However, I am sometimes lazy to do this and it works just as well by not using the cloth in my opinion. Make sure before you wash it off fully that you first just dampen your fingers and go over the face creating a nice cream like texture before rinsing, donāt just rinse it off. I made this mistake at first and it didnāt work nearly as well. Although if youāre in a rush itās not the end of the world if you donāt do this. I usually save the cloth for when I want a deep cleanse, usually when I have a bath instead of a shower as I like to put this on and soak with it on while the bath is steamy as I feel like it gives my pores a deep cleanse. I also use this on my eyes as it is the only product Iāve ever used which just melts off any eye make up, itās amazing! Obviously be careful when doing this as I donāt think this is recommended but I just make sure none of it gets in my eyes & rinse it off really quickly, it has got into my eyes a bit before and I had no issues personally. But be cautious if your eyes are extra sensitive though obviously. Honestly you wonāt need any other product to remove eye makeup! I think this would even work with damp cotton pads. It gets rid of panda eyes instantly. I have even dipped cotton buds in it to neaten up when Iām doing winged liner or if I mess up and get it on my eyelid or something & donāt want to smear my makeup. If youāre looking for a nice double cleanse combo I use this with CeraVe hydrating cream to foam cleanser & I find they work beautifully together. My skin is left squeaky clean but hydrated which is sometimes hard to achieve. I personally love the fragrance, to me it almost smells like Turkish delight. If you havenāt tried Elemis before & are put off by fragrance, donāt be, none of the products Iāve used smell overpowering or synthetic, more aromatherapy and spa like. Even if the smell is not to your taste the performance of the product will make up for it. This is a very detailed and rave review but I believe this product deserves it, it lasts for ages so itās great value for money. If youāre just starting off with Elemis or just want to try the brand this is the best place to start. Theyāre highly underrated in my opinion & I can see now why people are so loyal to the brand.
