I made the grave mistake of purchasing this capture card without reading the spec requirements. My gaming PC wasn’t out of date and typical handles most installs, without issue; however, I had a Ryzen 5 whereas this capture card required a Ryzen 7 or greater. So like any other typical gamer, I just upgraded to accommodate the requirements lolI then installed this card (very simple) and went to Elgato’s website to install the appropriate drivers. I was using Elgato’s HD60 S external card prior and made sure to delete all of its drivers before installing the new card and the new drivers. This was to prevent any compatibility issues, just in case. It also freed up some space on my PC.So far, so good.

One that can pick up HDMI video and audio, play with the audio then send back the video and audio while still being in 4k and low latency; or a video editing software where you take the video with out the audio and then take the audio files it gives you, because it does record both game and microphone audio as two induvial files and merge them together and lower the volume over the video editing software.

This passes through my PS5 to my 1440p monitor (one of many that take the 4K signal and make it work) and it looks fantastic.The audio processing time is slower on this than the HD, so be forewarned. This is not a huge issue for your viewers becuase you can adjust, but you WILL notice it. I have a high end PC with an x570 board and 3700x. Elgato processes video before sound. There is no way to fix it until newer equipment comes out. I wound up stripping the audio with an HDMI audio stripper and running to the back of a Focusrite 2Pre. I have no delay with my sound. Super, quick and easy easy install. Especially when you have the program already installed into your PC. Basically, it was plug and play. I had recently bought a HD60 S and with all the clutter with wires this was the best option. I already had the software installed. but if you do not have it installed, I highly recommend you get the driver installed or you will have issues till you do. Wish the price was a bit lower but all in all worth it

I don't know what to think about this thing. It works most of the time, but then sometimes you will have to hard reset (ie unplug you computer) to get it to pick up signal. After some messing around it can transmit 2k and 1080p at 240hz (thanks youtube, this doesn't come with helpful instructions). Sometimes if you alt-tab out of your game it will go bonkers. Sometimes you can alt-tab with no issues. I have 2 monitors on my gaming PC, sometimes if I have only one on the Elgato register. Sometimes it works with 1 on. This thing just has a lot of random issues that you spend 20 minutes trying to fix and then the next time you turn your computer on they are magically fixed. Then they break again. I'd give it 3.49 stars but rounded down due to the cost and random problems.

They said they mostly deal with folks capturing console play and it's tricky to diagnose PC problems because all PCs are potentially different. I agree with them, but I work as a PC tech. I just needed them to help me get my head around what wasn't getting along between the capture card and Windows. They had me scan the hardware and software on both my gaming and streaming PCs and email that info back to them for second level analysis.After a week they emailed me back and said second level didn't have any ideas about why I was getting so much horrible encoder overload when I tried to stream or record in ... No matter what I do I can't play ANY game in 1440p fullscreen, I have to use windowed fullscreen or both OBS and the 4k Capture Utility can't capture the gaming screen, they get very blurry and mostly green. I read online some of the capture cards are better using their pass through feature, which I tried, but could only get better results using a 1080p/240hz monitor. Although the Elgato website says this card supports 1440p/144hz passthrough I was NEVER able to get it to work with fullscreen.I continue to clone my gaming output and send that signal out as 1080p/60fps to the capture card and use windowed fullscreen.4. If you have any audio devices or inputs/outputs disabled on your streaming PC the capture card flips out. When I was trying to send the audio via HDMI (which was also a challenge, but that also involves OBS) to the streaming PC I disabled the unused audio trying to limit my problems. The capture card wouldn't even work like that and Elgato had zero idea what was going on. They told me to return it because it was brand new and the system wouldn't read it at all.Then the second brand new card did the same thing. I had to figure out the issue on the OBS forum.Best Buy was terrific about the exchange though!!5. It created a horrible ground loop audio buzz, be prepared to buy ground loop isolators for your inbound and outbound audio if you're routing it to a GoXLR or mixing board.6. Unless you're running something like Thread Ripper, just get the Elgato HD60 Pro. Spending the extra money for the 4k60 Pro MK.2 simply isn't worth it. The card works, but I can't get it to function past 1080p.This is not a case of being upset by a product, just an accounting of the facts as I experienced them. The Elgato reps were all professional. My local Best Buy is always great, I've never had any issues with them and I've spent LOTS of money with the company this year. The 4K60 Pro MK.2 is just a tricky card to operate for PC to PC capture and not worth the money over the HD60 Pro in my eyes. Hopefully your experience will be better!
I would recommend NEVER purchasing anything that this company designed. The HDMI cable fits so sloppily into this card, that it keeps falling out on its own. The plastic fan shroud extends beyond the silicon board in such a way, that it is an "ashtray" designed to collect dust inside my case. Look, obviously I knew I wasn't getting a graphical powerhouse with this thing. I didn't need that. This isn't for gaming. I just needed something simple to take some of the stress off of my aging CPU inside my music production computer. (For the record, I was able to get 90FPS stable at 1080p, with PGA Tour 2K21 in absolute potato mode. Ugly as sin, but a smooth stroke for the swing) However, I do expect some level of professional competence during the design/manufacturing ... The PC sits protected on its own table beside the work station, and nothing can fall down to make contact with the cables. Yet, I keep turning on my PC, only to have just one screen turn on. I can then find the HDMI cable sitting on the desk unattached to the GPU. It's either a ghost, or bad design. I'll let you decide for yourself!
I have this capture card installed in my streaming pc. I am feeding an hdmi direct from my gaming rig. Previously i had been sending video and audio from the gaming rig to the streaming pc over ndi. The video quality improvement with this is amazing. I am now sending 1440p at 60hz to my stream, video is crisp and smooth. A drastic improvement in quality. Only con is the price but so far an amazing product.

I bought this not knowing my motherboard did not have a 4x slot. but knew I could put this into a space x16 slot. it for some reason did not work in my top x16 slot, that normally a video card would be installed it. So I removed it and tried on the bottom slot. and it still wasn't picking up correctly in the computer, but I could at least see an unknown device/multimedia controller this time in the device manager. after installing the software it still had no device detected. looked around and found the drivers page. The pages claim that this is plug and play. but you still need to find the correct drivers for the correct card. after finding the correct drivers, and a ...
