Had these before in black and got a red bike. So an obvious need to replace the previous.They work well, holding without being a pain to get the bottle out of or back into. Simple and does the job well.

The design gives a tighter grip than most other cages, and I've managed to make it fit an old Thermos brand vacuum bottle, which has a diameter of about 70mm. To take up the gap between 70 and 74mm, all I had to do is to wrap up to three rubber bands round the Thermos bottle. This gives a nice snug fit, with a little bit of rattling left but nothing too bad. The grip is secure enough to ride over fairly big bumps with no chance of the Thermos falling out. I have three other cages, one carbon and two metal, and none can give such a snug fit for both Thermos and normal bottles.The looks are good too and match my mountain bike well.

I've just bought three more of these for use across my bikes. I've had all sorts of bottle cages over my 35 plus years of cycling. These equal the best and are the least expensive I've bought. They hold even large bottles securely over rough ground and are lightweight.I've got carbon bottle cages and titanium, but there's minimal weight difference and functionally these are better.

Nice bottle holder, as good as my expensive carbon ones and probably holds the Elite bottles better. Makes you wonder why you would buy anything more expensive especially when these look so good too. 10/10
I have been happily using the original Elite Custom Race bottle cages for many years and was excited to learn that an "improved" Custom Race Plus had been launched, so I bought 2 black-on-black cages for my Stealth De Rosa.On trying to fit them to my small (but not tiny) frame, I noticed that there was not the same range of fitting slots as on the old cage and, without drilling new holes, they wouldn't fit low enough on the down & seat tubes to accommodate a large bottle. Whilst this was easy enough to do, it should not be necessary!The cages hold the bottle very, very firmly. This might be great for riding on pavé or off-road, but far too firm for normal road use. I've had these elite custom race plus cages for six weeks now, and they are better than ever. I've always rated their cage as the best in the market, but recently bought two cages to match my new bike. These were big brand cages, but honestly they nearly were my undoing. The opening for the bottle was restricted and very precise or else the bottle wouldn't go in. When I made the switch, bottle goes in the cafe wth so much ease you hardly have to think about it. Safer and laughably simple and secure. Top marks.
I've been a long time user of the Elite Custom bottle cages - I put them on all my bikes for the simple reason that they just work. End of! I've only ever used them in conjunction with the Elite bottles, so can't comment on how effective they are with other bottles, but all I know is that this combo if absolutely spot on. The cage grips the bottle so it never pops out, yet isn't too difficult to get it out when on the go. They come is such a wide range of colours too that you'll always find one to match your bike. Don't waste your money on anything else!
